Holy Hotel San Carlos! I'm fairly certain they shot The Great Gatsby in the lobby and The Shining on the floors. I personally love this place and the staff, it's a refreshing blast from the past with a spooky history, definitely a must stay when in Phoenix.
I usually don't write reviews... but this place was awful. It was 80 degrees and with my heart condition I literally couldn't stay here. We ended up at a Travelodge up the road just to be able to get a few hours of sleep.
Not what I expect but still an amazing cool place with some history
This is a beautiful historic hotel..was very impressed with the room and how much they kept that was original to the room..had only one thing to complain about and that is that since its a beautiful historic room, they control the start up of the boiler to heat up your room and well for a person that is always cold..this didn't work for me..I was so cold all night..even with the weighted , what seemed like down blanket. Maybe a stay in the summer would be better for me
Watson was very personable, and almost had me considering living in the hotel for a month, amazing guy, genuine energy for the region and resourceful.

I feel like I got catfished. The photos were strategically taken to look better than it is. They even make you sign something saying you can't cancel after you check in. No thermostat.. so if you're too hot or too cold, too bad. Location is good being downtown.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly at every point of our stay. The accommodations were lacking a microwave, however the selection of restaurants in the area was anything but subpar! A smoke scent did fill the restroom, but I do not believe the tenants were allowed/supposed to be inhaling as a smoking room next to non would not make sense... will be back soon!
I just wanted to thank you and the entire Hotel team for the great service that you provided to me and my family. The food that you served was very delicious and mouthwatering. The staff was also very helpful and kind. I will definitely be back here again and again. I should highly recommend your hotel to everyone. Thanks!
