This is an eclectic, pet friendly hotel with the most excellent staff I've seen in a long time. The rooms are well appointed and the Stratus rooftop bar is an excellent addition to an otherwise top-notch hotel.
fantastic, responsive staff. cozy rooms. perfect location
Didn't care for this hotel old fashion not my style, didn't clean up rooms no food etc
This is the best hotel in Philadelphia. Rooms are great and very clean. It's wery worth the price.
LOVE this hotel! Very eclectic and well appointed, friendly staff who were always smiling, amazing location. Our room was fun, clean, and had the most comfortable bed I ve ever slept in. Toiletries were great and the big fluffy towels were wonderful. We will certainly be back!
Top Notch!
pros: very accommodating staff very polite. Atmosphere was astounding! Valet service was excellent!
Con: only one... need coffee in room for morning (complimentry of coarse ) so guests dont have to go looking or room service.
Beautiful hotel! Excellent customer service. We got the corner spa room and enjoyed the soaking tub so much! Will definitely be back for the experience alone!
Location is fantastic. Staff is very polite and accommodating. Design flaw in shower soaks bathroom floor.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. We're always impressed with our stays at Kimpton hotels but the Monaco was immaculate. The"turn down for what" package was perfect for a night away from home for my husband and I. To our surprise we were upgraded to parkview room upon our arrival and our room overlooked one of the prettiest parts of the city. We had rose petals decorating the room, chocolate covered strawberries & champagne delivered to the room, and received gold status wristbands which got us 2 free drinks each at the stratus rooftop lounge. Staff was polite and extremely welcoming. We loved our stay and will be back!
Cozy rooms, homely decor, good customer service. Beds aren't the most comfortable. Beware the booming bass that permeates the entire building from about 7pm to midnight. Overall not a bad experience but I wouldn't stay here again.
Dress code doesnt state you cant wear boots. I had to go home and change during below freezing temperatures. This is unacceptable.
Most of what you pay for here is location. The overall decor is great, but the rooms not a 5. The rooms were nice but small. Unfortunately some of our pillows had visible dirt and stains. They also seemed a little understaffed, it took about 45 minutes to check in and multiple times during our stay when we dialed 0, we got no answer. Expected a little more for the price.
Place is very nice , one of the best qualities is the people working here. They are friendly and very helpful even giving tips about the area and good Help ful advice about attractions and popular eating dives. The only complaint I have is that the windows are thin and you can hear the traffic, it's worse at night because you can hear people doing burnouts or reviving their cars down the streets. All in all I am enjoying my stay and love the welcoming staff at the hotel.
Great service and location to historic sites of Philly
Friendly and helpful staff. Great rooms and in the heart of town. Happy hour and the attached restaurant complete the picture for me.
The red owl tavern was a great brunch spot olin the heart of Philadelphia. The salmon board was excellent.
Beautiful hotel, loved the decor. The location couldn t be more perfect. Right next to Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. If I m ever back to Phily I ll definitely stay here again.
You will not be disappointed. Great location, very comfortable rooms
Just amazing. Right in the heart of the Old City. Liberty Bell can be seen from the windows. Great service. Amazing rooms.
The hotel staff were very courteous and accomodating. I attended an event and the food and service was wonderful.
It is wonderful! Staff so friendly, accommodating and professional. Definitely recommend it!
Very lux hotel with an awesome location for old city tourists.
The room and hotel were nice, but the service was disappointing. I requested toothpaste twice, and never received any, or even an acknowledgement that they forgot about me.
Decent hotel in a great location, but decor is somewhat garish, and service is poor. If booked through a third party, they'll charge you a parking fee of USD 50 per day, which is not mentioned when the valet takes your car away to some place from where it takes at least 30 minutes to get it back. Coffee maker is not part of the tariff either, but is provided for a fee. Overall, it's okay if you want a place within walking distance of all the tourist attractions, but beware of incurring unbudgeted expenses.
Very eclectic, boutique hotel that appears to have an "Alice in Wonderland" theme based on the unique wallpaper(s) and carpet. Needless to say, the location is perfect if you're looking to take in some Philadelphia history.
Great conference facility in downtown Philadelphia.
The staff was fantastic, otherwise you'd be just as well off staying at Marriott and saving some money. The bed was hard, pillows were flat, you can only have WiFi if you're a member, which was not the experience we had at the other klimpton in the city.
Extremely nice helpful staff. Nice room. Great price. When I asked for suggestions as to where to eat...staff was helpful
I was fabulous!!! I loved everything about the hotel! Staff was great, room clean and comfortable of course I'm coming back!
Beautiful rooms and perfect view over Independence Mall for an amazing weekend stay. Walking distance from a plethora of restaurants, bars, or shops. Service was 5-star throughout every interaction.
I attended a wedding in the city over the weekend where most of the guest including the bride and groom were staying here. There was an after party at the Stratus Lounge so we tagged along. Upon arriving , the place was completely over packed. As we started to leave the hostess directed us to an additional room in the back of the bar that was open and would be able to accommodation our group. Once we got to the room we were barated by another hostess saying that room is for a private party and accused us of trying to crash the party. Obviously the first hostess screwed up but how we were treated was embarrassing and plan out disrespectful. Will never go there again.
In short, the walls are so thin, you WILL hear other rooms and they WILL hear you. We really expected better quality. Also, when we checked in we asked for a rollout bed. Even after returning from dinner we didn't have the bed yet. Three phone calls later and about 3 hours after the initial request, we finally got the rollout. Beyond that, the staff was friendly and professional. But for a top rated and high end hotel, guest services really need to deliver and they didn't. Room decor is a bit busy as well.
2nd time staying here - the location is amazing. Right across from Independence Hall and close to so many sights to see.
Very clean with updated facilities. Beds were the perfect place to crash after a fun wedding. Service was very friendly. Location is really close to many Philadelphia historical sights.
Beautiful hotel! It was right in the middle of the historic sites, literally around the corner from the Liberty Bell. My room was clean as was the whole hotel. I got an upgrade to a two-room suite that made my stay very relaxing.
It lacks some amenities, which is why I assume it's a 4 not 5 star. The room is small, but perfect for one person, or a couple. Stayed on the 10th floor in a king suite. Beautiful view of the independence park right across the street. The food was good. Overall satisfied with the results. Valet parking was nice and fairly quick, especially for the location, have no idea where their parking garage is but it only took ~10 minutes for my car to be picked up and dropped off
Convenient location, exceptional staff. Wonderful hotel chain.
Clean room and friendly staff. Very close to several historical sites. Across the street from Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. One block from subway stop as well. 24 hour room service available although we didn't use it. Only complaint was that the shower did not have much pressure and also didn't have a door. This just caused water to splash on the wall and floor. Doors and walls were thin too. Could hear people coming and going when the door closed. Do not regret staying here at all.
Roshid at the front desk is the friendliest hotel employee I have ever encountered. He makes every stay I have at the Monaco worthwhile!
Beyond that, this is a beautiful, well-maintained hotel in a great location.
Tried out the Suite-Beautiful room, great view of Independence Mall area. Bathroom amazing spacious. Helpful staff and great location for Old City attractions.
Great location for tourist sights. Loved the quirky decorations.
Not happy with the mandatory valet parking. The very first time we called for our car the valet brought the WRONG car to us so we waited 1 1/2 hrs for our car in total. I will say the rest of the time we called for the car it was brought within 15 minutes. All the hotel staff were very attentive & aimed at the guest comfort. Room was great , however only one towel bar in bathroom & that was in the shower. Also needs microwave which there was none of. Fridge was stocked with lots of drinks & munchies at a very high cost : $8.00 for a large bottle of water, $8.00 for large milky way bar, & a small bottle of wine for two (only 2 glasses total ) $40.00. A bottle of orange juice $5.00 (Nantucket OJ) which is $1.49 @ Target . This is just a small part of the cost of the stocked refrigerator. In house restaurant very expensive. Was great that a lot of the sight seeing was nearby in walking distance. We were in town for a wedding .
Artsy Hotel in the center of everything. make sure to get a room with a spa bath... You won't regret it.
Beautiful accommodations located in a centralized location with tons of food and fun nearby. Helpful staff with complimentary happy hour made our stay welcoming and fun.
Kimptons always have the best accommodations and attached food options. La colombe coffee as well
Modern chic in walking distance to all historic sites
Location is perfect for Old City / historic sightseeing. Rooms are chic. Service is friendly and attentive, especially doorman Sean. Great hotel. A little on the expensive side, but you can find good deals on occasion.
Good hotel, but lacked basic amenities like a microwave and a DVD player, large tub was nice. Not worth the money in my opinion.
Sexy vibe. One of my favorite places to go when I want alone time with my hubby. Enough said!
Amazing service. Beautiful hotel and views. I can't say enough nice things! Stay here!
Very nice rooftop lounge. Everything is overpriced but that's expected. The atmosphere is very chill and laid back a very good mix of people and music. This place is a good hangout spot in the city.
Excellent staff. Great location! Definitely would return.
I love their decorations and the hotel room bathroom. However, the parking is uneasy and it took about 30 minutes for valet parking.
Was here for a wedding. Great service, great rooms!
Very Nice - overall average experience. Service was pretty good. Would expect more for the price. The room was a little bit disappointing. Booked a king room - was downgraded to two queens which was very disappointing.
The two positive things about our stay was the door man, Sean along with all of the bell hops (if that is still what they are called) AND the fact that the hotel allows dogs. Beyond that I was none to impressed. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00pm. We did not get into our room until 3:20 We came into town for a 5:30 wedding, so every minute counted. The room was not complete as my wife told them we did not care because we needed to get ready for the wedding. I found the front desk staff to be unhelpful and unprofessional. They were not "delighted" to see me or anyone else for that matter. As if I was bothering them and should feel lucky to be there. WiFi did not appear to be free, though I cannot confirm because no information could be provided. And $14 for 1mini bottle of alcohol is pure robbery. The same bottles the airlines sell for $5. I would not recommend this hotel. There is another on the same block.
My son's wedding was at the Monaco, and it was the most wonderful experience! The hotel has character -- it's not just a generic fancy box. It's a grand, exuberant building. The hallways are wide and marble. The ballroom has columns and a skydome. The little touches -- like coffee, wine, and port for guests are lovely. The staff are remarkable -- kind, attentive, patient and helpful. I think this is the perfect event hotel for people looking for something different. Grand, but funky and arty. Smart, but not stuffy. The hotel is outstanding, and we had a glorious weekend.
Fantastic hotel! Location, staff, and amenities are top notch
Definitely not worth the star rating. If you ve stayed at an actual luxury hotel where the rating matches the amenities and service you ll understand exactly what I mean.
Rooms are very clean, and very eclectic. Don't expect privacy in the bathroom though. Sliding doors don't close all the way and no lock!
Location is always great. Near Independence Hall and all the restaurant in Old city. Rooms are beautiful and bar connected has good food and drink. All the staff were super friendly for New Years.
