Nice hotel and good cuisine. Cozy bar to have a drink before dinner.

Beautiful location and building. Really a 'royal' experience. Nice modern room. Very tasty food and very friendly service.

Unfortunately I had to get up very early (Easter 1st and 2nd day) because of the very noisy vacuum cleaner in the hall early in the morning. All understanding that the cleaners must do their job, but this can also be done a few hours later.

Atmospheric and large castle room, top breakfast (with champagne), very nice welcoming staff. Location really a fairy tale, great base for visiting Aachen, Maastricht, Valkenburg and Maastricht.

Have been coming here for years and have booked again! Unfortunately due to an acute injury one hour before departure! Was no problem at all and have rescheduled it for a month. Looking forward to it again!

We stayed in the tower suite which is rated as luxury. Upon entering it was dirty, the armchair was covered with stains and the sofa covered with hair. This has been reported to the reception
In addition, we ordered a bottle of wine on room service worth 38.50 that was not drinkable and if you scan the wine code it will be given a value of 12, this indicated in the restaurant and returned with the bottle (pre-tasting was also not happens) but no solution was offered. Still indicated that they wanted to pay 1 glass, but nothing was done with that either.

Beautifully restored castle. Great rooms and food. Fantastic staff. Way better than the usual Van der valk standard.

This hotel is a beautiful place to stay first class people are very helpful nothing is too much trouble bed are very comfortable .huge bathroom shower huge big enough for two people free WiFi works well in most areas of hotel .would recommend this hotel to anyone it is in a nice quiet location the bus is right out side if need ..

With multiple rooms in use, the toilets were better maintained .... incredibly dirty!

The Castle is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Beautifully restored in the old state. The dining areas are authentic and cosily furnished.

A Sunday evening for dinner with the company of 8 people. Chosen for Menu du Chef, but that was disappointing: pork cheeks that looked more like rubber than meat and also hardly garnished with any vegetables or other things. The culinary quality left much to be desired.
A glass of prosecco for everyone in advance: you pay almost EUR 60.00 for that alone and again: mediocre quality.
Most disturbing was the extremely long waiting time between courses: after everyone had finished the second course it took no less than 45 (!) Minutes before the main course was served. Very annoying, for a four-course dinner we were at the table from 6:00 pm to more than 10:00 pm. And that while we wanted to start early because people in the company still had to travel far afterwards ....
Also very annoying was the fact that a couple in the restaurant with 2 really screaming children were sitting, the screams constantly drowned out the conversation. Now and then that is not bad, but here it went on ..... the staff could have come up with something. But something like that can of course happen anywhere.
No, the most disappointing is the culinary quality, or rather, the lack of it, in relation to the price.
This hotel / restaurant wants to compete with the best given the appearance etc, but really does not exceed a mediocre level. While you do run into hefty prices. In any case, it just doesn't deliver on the culinary promises.
Then you better pay just a little more elsewhere for real top quality. Bloemendal is nothing more than what it really is: an ordinary vdValk accommodation of average quality, packaged as a chic castle.
For an evening in a good restaurant you better avoid it.

Bad breakfast ... cold coffee ... cold fried egg .... small dry pastries ... yuck

Not what we are used to from Van der Valk. The lady at the reception desk was not very friendly. The rooms in the annex are very musty and the bathroom was not clean at all, especially the tiles filled with hair from bottom to top.

Beautiful building, very friendly staff, theme room 213 is very spacious (even with the sofa folded out for 3rd person, there was a lot of space to walk around and sit), delicious rain shower, breakfast and dinner well arranged with Corona measures, dinner in arrangement very good value and tasty! on request we immediately responded to a lactose allergy, nicely centrally located for Maastricht and Aachen, almost ON the border triangle.
We will definitely come back here!

Fantastic good hotel. Room 114 (suite) with large terrace at the front. Luxurious, with steam shower and jacuzzi. Great beds with topper. Wonderfully spacious! Recommended !!! Very friendly staff !!!
Downside: While the quality of the dinner was fine, the price was too high for the offered. Drinks too expensive too.
Tip: stay here, eat elsewhere (after Corona ...)

Looks like a castle, but is only a facade. Behind it is a normal Valk hotel business. Badly heated rooms in winter, to be precise: sow cold!

The ambience in the room is very upscale and well-kept. The beds here are very comfortable and you can sleep very well.

The breakfast is very good and the choice is huge.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff and cozy bar. Had a beautiful room with a terrace. Breakfast was very expensive 17.50 pp. so we didn't. Plenty of opportunity in the area for breakfast or brunch.
There are also cozy shops and restaurants there. Three-country point also nearby.
Plenty of parking space. Will come back here for sure.

Yesterday we had an evening party in the restaurant of Bloemendal and this with a group of friends of around 45 people at 80 / person.
Food was presented in buffet form and during the reception there was barely 1 glass of wine.
The quality of the food was below all levels and was downright bad and consequently far too expensive for what was presented. You can eat this anywhere in the worst brasserie at 19.
We indeed feel cheated and only the beautiful frame (building) is taken advantage of here, but it is a sinking ship and they will NEVER see us here again!
We have not come across worse sooner !!! Moreover, today we also feel nauseous, so bad .....

Very bad experience. It was very hot and the AC does not work, I had to check out one day earlier since I could not sleep because of the hot weather and they refused to refund me that day!!

To surprise my other half Booked 2 nights here in the tower room for her birthday. It has a sitting room and a bedroom, bathroom with whirlpool bath, shower and steam engine and a separate toilet. At first sight it looked fine but I will come back to that later. Check-in went fine, but we did not receive much information from the receptionist. It was businesslike and correct but it ended there.

Arrived at the top, explore everything and put papers in the safe.
Unfortunately, no description of how the safe works as we are normally used to, so we went to the reception where we got a verbal explanation. Wasn't quite right but we got out. Next problem: the fridge in the room was on and 2 bottles of water had been used, but the door had not been closed. Sloppy and the result was a very warm cupboard and water in the fridge. A call to the front desk and the TD employee came quickly to rectify it. Very friendly employee by the way and genuinely friendly!
Unfortunately, there was still more that was not in order so all points in a row:
Room was not clean properly.
Very warm in the room and that cannot be solved with top cooling that also switches off automatically. A fan in the room does not help either.
Windows can open and on the hook, but then the roman blinds cannot go down so unfortunately ...
Plastic spoons with the Nespresso were all dirty.
Steam cabin does not give off odors.
Hot tub gives almost no bubbles and makes a lot of noise.
No operating manual for whirlpool and steam cabin.

We reported all the problems and there were contradictory answers that did not correspond to what was in the book but what bothered me the most was not a single sorry or a "how annoying for you".

After we settled down, we sat outside on the patio. We sat there for a while but no one came to take our order, two ladies did serve dishes on the terrace, but at least they did not pay attention. In the end I just walked in to order.

All in all, the staff came across as business correct but not welcoming.
An exception to this is the young man on Mondays and the young lady at the bar on Tuesdays.

My conclusion: Not recommended.

Price is not worth what is offered. The location may be beautiful, but everything else has to be right.
Menu could also be less exclusive so that it is suitable for a larger audience.
We have had better at other of the Valk hotels.

Apologies for errors / defects and a friendly word do a lot for the experience.

For us a big downer on what should have been a festive outing.

The staff was very nice! Nice room minus point we thought it was cut back on bottles of water! You get 1 bottle of water for the entire stay per person .. also during dinner you have to pay 2.50 for water for a good cause ...

Beautiful cheese room with large modern bathroom, four-poster bed and separate sitting room. Could have liked something cleaner. Breakfast was fine but not exceptional by Valk standards. Had 3 good nights and a nice area for trips.

Hotel which we made by remodeling elementary school, service is wonderful. The garden is also beautiful. I would like to stay again!

I have mixed feelings. I would really like to give 3.5 stars but I give them the benefit of the doubt. The room was good value for money. Nice bed too. The hotel is in the middle of an ugly residential area and the arrival was therefore really disappointing because on the internet you only see beautiful pictures. The first impression is so important and it was already very poor. The staff were friendly but worked reasonably well with the autopilot. Breakfast was reasonable but good value for money ( 17.50 pp)

All in all a nice experience but certainly one-off.

Fantastic location and very clean and above all stylish hotel. Enough to see in the area, even in Corona time. Lovely walk and enjoyed the beautiful nature in the area.

A Kasteel, here a magnificent country house, with a beautiful terraced garden and very respectable old trees. The castle garden then widens to the left into a larger park with a central pond. Nice to walk through, beautiful views. If you want, you can walk in this direction to Vaals and discover old streets and historic buildings there. A surprising highlight, if you have been through the place so far only on the main road. Everything is well maintained, quiet and tranquil. A pearl

Great hotel in a nice town, in a great environment. Close to Aachen, Maastricht an in a wonderful part of the country for taking bike rides or walks.

Had a great stay. Hotel is very beautiful and attractive. Beautiful old details, beautiful juliet balcony at the backyard and therefore a very nice view.

A lovely chic Hotel to stay in. Away from the busy city, the service is good and the breakfast is a mixture of Dutch and French. I wish they had more vegetables and salads options included...

Not pro-active, we wanted to reserve one brunch, ... No alternative solution offered, not offered to be on a wart list, no phone call ...

Lovely location. Part renovated stately home, part addition. Rooms were large and of high quality. Bathrooms lacked a bathroom door, a problem if you're sharing a family room. Breakfast was excellent.

A very nice hotel. The reception was very friendly . A simply great atmosphere. We had a room # 4. On the 2nd floor in the main house. It was a big wow effect when we got into the room. Everything from the finest, also a great bathroom. We had an arrangement with dinner. Everything was delicious. I have the furniture and the harmonious decoration currently Christmassy excited. The breakfast was more than enough. We will be back.

Super nice overnight stay with dinner and breakfast in the room. Despite the Corona measures, a special outing. Beautiful surroundings and beautiful building in Vaalst. Even after 9 pm curfew a beautiful illuminated garden with fountains where you can still do a round. The dinner and breakfast in the room remains special, but was really professionally arranged by the staff down to the cutlery for the various courses. Everything was possible within the measures of the government. Compliments. The reception was good and well cared for. Tip bring a box of refreshments. They have a nice offer. Another must is a super fun Rally that you can drive completely independently and discover the entire area. We will definitely come back to this hotel without masks etc to fully enjoy all the restaurants.

In January we spent 4 nice days in the Kasteel Bloemendal and surroundings. Very friendly staff. Great service in the restaurant. Nice location.

Last weekend 1 night in Hotel Kasteel Bloemendal.
Just received.

Would have liked to stay here more nights. What a beautiful room, we had a comfort room (No. 4) with a view of the garden. The room has a kind of French balcony so the doors / windows can be opened completely.
Good bed, lovely bathroom with bath. Which of course was used immediately.
Took dinner at the hotel, opted for the 4-course dinner. Delicious food and good wine advice.
Slept with an open window, wonderfully quiet. Hardly any outside noise and quiet in the corridors. And that while, as we understand, the hotel was full.
Breakfast was arranged perfectly with the current corona measures.
Normally a breakfast buffet is used, but now it is served at the table and they work with reserved time slots.
The fresh rolls come in a paper bag and there is plenty of cheese, ham, salmon and sweet spreads. It consisted of 9 small rolls and 3 slices of bread. More than enough for 2 people. Also Fresh orange juice and yogurt and fruit.
At 9 o'clock there was a queue but everyone kept their distance. We had chosen a time slot at 08:30 and that was a quiet moment.

Location in the center of Vaals, but we had no disadvantage.
In short, we will definitely be back.

Stayed 2 nights here, lovely big room which needs maintenance, steam bath was not working which hotel staff offered us a small discount for which was nice. Bed very comfortable. Room generally is clean although do dust your chandeliers now and than. Food served in restaurant was pretty good. Large portions. Main course there is to much on the plate which is fighting for the lead role. Breakfast corona way was pretty ok. Staff was friendly.

Everything was right: excellent food, friendly and polite service, otherwise everything was fine.
