The location of the hotel is excellent and the Sydney Opera House is just a few minutes walk away. Convenient transportation. The hotel has two doors, walking close to the door on the side of the botanical garden, and the scenery is beautiful. It is also close to the museum. The hotel service is very good, the room is very comfortable, the bathroom supplies are of good quality and the concierge is very attentive.

Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Internet keeps disappearing which is not good when you're here to do business and no one in the hotel seems to be able to solve the problem. Lost property should be lost forever property as well. For the price I would go elsewhere

I used a buffet restaurant. You can eat a variety of foods. You can eat grottoes and fresh seafood. Kinds are also suitable, you can eat this or that. We recommend making a reservation and don't forget to have a 2 hour time limit.

Reception staff very good. Rooms very clean and comfortable, quite spacious. Cortelle wonderful selection of drinks, cocktails, wines beers and soft drink. Great location beer circular key, botanical gardens and museums. Cafe Opera is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Service is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes staff are great and others can be lacking in customer service. The food is nice for buffet style and plenty of selection. Just difficult at times to get more drinks, wine ,coffee etc as staff can be a bit slack depending on who is rostered for breakfast and dinner service.

Not sure there is a better mid range cost hotel with better views. The cafe service isn t very good (on multiple occasions) so I ve simply learned to venture out for meetings and meals. Front desk service is consistently positive.

We stayed three days in the hotel from 6.7 to 9.7.2019. Great breakfast, central location. Great view from the room over the harbor bay. The fitness center had new equipment and was well maintained. The massage at Martha was great, but also had its price. On the birthday I was given a champagne and tarts. We would stay here again, everything was great.

Great location, great staff, great views, but it is all looking very dated and in need of a much overdue facelift. Bathrooms in the rooms are pretty ordinary as are the lotions and potions. For what you pay, they could do a lot better.

Cafe Opera in the InterContinental, Sydney at Macq...

Cafe Opera in the InterContinental, Sydney at Macquarie Street has seafood buffet for lunch and dinner. Very fresh seafood included fresh oysters, cooked prawns, mussels, calamari, blue swimmer crabs and baked salmon. The seafood was continuously replenished. Seafood Paella with lots of seafood was another tasty dish There was a variety of sushi. Also available were roast chicken, pork and beef with accompanying roast vegetables and tasty kumera (sweet potato) mash. There were several other cooked dishes served. There is a section for kids with dishes like Fish & Chips, pasta and vegetables. There was a wide variety of salads and home-made sauces. The desserts section offered many different types of delicious cakes, sorbets and ice cream. Different types of cheese and crackers were served.
Service was good with very attentive and courteous staff.
A very nice place for a meal with family and friends.

My wife and I stayed at the Intercontinental. Love the location, ambience etc.when booking our room we were assured by staff executive we were able to use the rooftop bar area during our stay at no additional expense apart from our individual purchases. When we requested to go to the rooftop bar approximately 5 hours after checking in, the duty manager said it will cost you $200 to go up there! We explained previous arrangements made, duty manager wouldn't acknowledge this. Despise this service, sorry Intercontinental Sydney you have lost our custom.

Checked in during the Easter break. Still checked in while doing the review. They really need to upgrade. Feels old, and smells old. The usual setup you find in modern hotels are lacking. USB ports, big screens that you can cast. Theres probably a market for this old style hotels, unfortunately didn't like it at all. Even the reception is so small and it doesn't feel like 5-star. The view from the rooftop is great but is only for club members - which is weird.

Great customer service and location. The rooms are clean although look a bit dated and could use a revamp. The beds were hard and uncomfortable.

We chose a standard city view room which faced construction that was very noisy, it would have been handy to know before booking to make an informed choice.

We went to the Intercontinental Hotel for our 40th Wedding Anniversary, from the moment we approached the hotel we were greeted with a very warm welcome. We were upgraded to a very nice room with wonderful views, since we had to wait we were given complimentary drinks. All the staff were friendly, so polite & obliging. Nothing was a problem for them, They made our visit feel extra special. We were not disappointed in any way. Thank all all for making our celebration all that more special for us. Great location, comfy rooms and very personable staff. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Great views from the 31st floor of the Bridge and Opera House. Note, if you have an East Bay room the road noise will be high, even at the 17th floor.

Nice hotel, good location and very courteous staff. Pleasant bar and connection to a good steakhouse (Meat and Wine) just to the left of the reception area / the revolving door at the main entrance. The small side entrance leads directly to the Sydney Botanic Garden and the Opera House.
