The hotel is within walking distance from circular Quay train station which is the station for airport transfers. They have excellent services but in terms of the room fitout, it looks aged.

Great view. But no plugs for mobile phone near bed. Furnishings and decor worn and needs a refresher. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Well groomed, attentive and friendly staff. All in all very professionals.
Cafe in the lobby has a nice smooth atmosphere, good for a chill, but the hot chocolate tastes like sugar milk.
We went for High Coffee and the girls enjoyed the coffee martinis! I got a non alcoholic drink which was no fuss and we had a vegan at the table and they brought a selection of fruits for her ! The interiors are gorgeous and the waitress was very polite and helped us take photos. Very friendly and would definitely recommend :) Also toilets on ground floor very handy and well kept! Comfy sofas. Parking is pricey so watch out for that.
Only been there once previously but staff are very friendly and the area isn't crowded with packed in tables which makes for a nice atmosphere
We had the high tea buffet at the hotel. Food was good, and there was a variety of desserts as well. Staff were very friendly and attentive!

Key could not access room on arrival. Had to go back to reception with all our lounge. Got new keys didn t work had to to go back down, to go back up to then wait for security to let us in. Then we re told that we had to see reception when we left to get access to our room. Again 10 minute wait for access for multiple waits. Sometime had to knock knock on door as waiting. next day staying two night door was not fixed so then Two times to leaves other partner had to leave separately was told by reception that she was not aloud access to room because she wasn t on the booking because she couldn t remember partners address! by reception and security and had to find someone that did for 10 minutes. 3 times reception gave new keys even when we told them it wasn t the key but low battery of the door. And phone didn t work in room and panel near door nearly fell on us
Aging Hotel with "Cheapo" Attitude, No Free Amenities, Zero Sense of Service, Obsolete Infrastructures
Definitely not a 5-start hotel experience. These is the most "cheapo" of all the IHG hotels I've ever stayed at.
The hotel is obsolete, the room's wallpaper, floor, bathroom, toilets and bathtub are disgustingly old and decaying. The fitness center is a joke with the treadmills and other machines ridiculously old i.e. probably from the 90's.
First, they don't give you any of the usual amenities in your room. No toothbrush, no drinking water, no ear swabs, no comb, NOTHING. You have to ask it all, every time all the time and they always take ages which is time-consuming and contributes to making you late.
I did not feel privileged at all for being a Spire Elite member (their highest level of customer loyalty recognition). The room upgrade I am entitled to was a fake upgrade: same room space, exactly all the same than a standard room, just that it's at a higher level, and they call that an upgrade. What a joke. No extra services whatsoever like complementary shoe waxing and dry cleaning like they graciously offered me at Intercontinental Singapore the week before. NOTHING.
That was my last time staying in that very poorly managed "cheapo" hotel.
Excellent location for a function, building looks really nice.
Quality food at a very reasonable price. Amazing service from the staff as well.
Cozy n closer to public transport, opera house, nice restaurant etc
I had a wonderful old fashioned at the bar in the lounge. Great service and atmosphere with an amazing view of the harbour.
Great views and great restaurants. If you'd like to be near The Rocks, take this hotel in consideration. Reception is on the 3rd floor.
Great location, super friendly staff. Highly recommended especially the club lounge option. Opera house rooms also have great views of the bridge
Sydney's Intercontinental hotel is superbly located, just a few hundred metre walk from the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House. It's in a very a central location, close to all of the city hotspots and restaurants. The hotel's amenities are also top notch, including the world class breakfast buffet, Meat & Wine Co restaurant and a comprehensive gymnasium.
Old and dated. Checked in 2 hours later because the room wasn t ready.
Fantastic hotel. Check-in was simple and hassle-free. Wonderful staff complimentarily upgraded our suite and offered help with luggage for check-out. Room was well maintained and had a wonderful view from the panoramic window. The breakfast service was exceptional. Entire experience was memorable and I'd highly recommend.
We had a nice stay here and it's relatively close to the harbour and the Botanic gardens. The afternoon tea spread was also very impressive and the room was very clean over the 3 days we stayed.
Sydney hotels in this star class are very expensive, compared to Melbourne, but what the heck it was a special treat.
Very old rooms, run down, cracks in walls, etc. Rooms in DESPERATE NEED OF renovation. Doesnt match sheraton, four seasons and other 5 star hotels for luxury... otherwise good and clean.
Always a wonderful experience with the best Club venue in Sydney with magnificent panoramic views!
Great conference venue - really enjoyed the healthy food options such as turmeric carrot and orange shots.
Amazing drinks and great food in both their restaurants
Good Hotel and facilities, close to all attractions in the city.
We arrived at 4pm on Friday 20th April to check in. There was a long queue and only 2 people on the desk, eventually a 3rd person came on which helped. When it was our turn, we were told our room wasn't ready (check in is supposed to be from 3pm) however we were offered a Disabled room (bathroom set up for wheelchair access) which we accepted as it was available there and then. It had a great view over the Bridge and Circular Quay which we enjoyed.
However, the toilet was challenging - it did not flush properly, even on full flush. The toilet seat etc was not fitting properly either.
The room phone did not work
The bed sagged badly on one side - my husband woke up the next morning with a bad neck/back. If I had been on that side of the bed I would have rung down to reception to ask for a different room. No, WAIT, I couldn't do that as the phone wasn't working!! I'd have to get dressed again and go down personally.
The door key/lock stopped working the next morning - the battery in the mechanism was running low apparently!
And finally, the queues at checkout the next morning were as long as the day before at check in........ the staff however were all lovely!!
Not the standards I had expected from this hotel!!
Convenient location, ok decor and room space, outdated facilities, and the best part is the mediocre service and arrogant mgmt.
We are really happy with the experience of staying in Intercontinental Hotel Sydney. Comfortable high clas equipment and great ambience. Most of all, the staffs are really friendly, helpful and always give you their best smile. The only drawback is the wireless internet keeps getting disconnected, but the staff said that its because the network is pretty new so I can let that slide. Merry Christmas!!!
We stayed in an Executive room and frequented the Executive lounge for cocktails.
Amazing hotel. Very comfy rooms. Good staff and lovely food.
Stunning views from the lounge but beware of ordering drinks outside the 'free'' period.
If you can afford it, treat yourself.
It is old because of the small size of the facilities that I wonder if this is really Intercontinental. The toilet is not a washlet, of course, and the bathroom toilet is integrated, so it is inconvenient for a couple to stay. The TV was old and didn't work when we arrived, and we had people call us back, but we were tired of the poor response.
The room we stayed in has a lot of excellent desks and storage, and is in a good location, so it may be very good for business needs.
But don't expect too much from the view. The Opera House has a different angle from what you would normally imagine, so it's easy to understand how it looks. The Harbor Bridge is also blocked by buildings and cannot be called a beautiful night view. There is no convenience store nearby and the location is good, but it is far from perfect. If you weren't an InterContinental member, you'd want to say you would go elsewhere.
Luxurious and clean. Great steak restaurant on site
More like a 3 star hotel. The only good thing was the view of Sydney Harbour.
Great place to stay and dine, we stayed for 3 nights during vivid. Staff was friendly and willing to help at all times.
Amazing view from the pool. The staff were great - friendly and accommodating. Upgraded us to a Harbour Bridge View Room. The buffet breakfast is amazing.
Excellent view from our room within the harbor. Helpful staff and a comfortable room. As it was a business trip it had been great to have a desk near the window to work even while having to do the job. Other than that, all in all i highly recommend this place.
For a 5 star hotel the place is generally pretty good in a fantastic location close to Circular Quay and the rocks. With several restaurants inside and cafes, it will surely have something to please all. The service was generally ok, but if your a Platinum IHG member or above, I would expected a little more attention giving the amount you travel, including going out of the way to organise a few little extras for the room which we
asked for, but seemed to be more trouble than what it was worth. Maybe travelling in the US has spoiled me a bit too much. Apart from that the staff were generally good, and the views were great, and the gym was good as well. Great spot to stay if your coming to Sydney.
I got a haircut at Sebastian Salon. The stylist Robin was very nice but there was an issue with the pinpad which ended up taking a lot of time.
