Close to the central station and on the lake side with a good view, it is a very good location for sightseeing and has spacious accommodations.
The type of breakfast is quite diverse and the quality of the food is quite high.
Very nice hotel. The rooms are much more modern than I expected. The spa area is operated in my opinion by an external company, which has a negative impact on the service in the hotel. Booked spa services were provided only after repeated requests. The pool is kept very simple and the view goes to a lardy courtyard and an old house wall with balconies and windows (social construction?).

The paint is off. No idea how Udo gets air in between all the dust here. We had a few drinks at the bar and did not come out of the horror. It may have been because tonight at the Atlantic was "Blue Ball". But even after three (good!) Gin Tonics guests and especially the "Powder-Rooms" were fourth-rate. Renovation of public areas is overdue (rooms may be in better shape, we only visited the bar)
Very good traditional hotel of Hamburg. Large house with beautiful, technically modern rooms and suites, u.a. overlooking the impressive courtyard. The hotel has a large lobby with many comfortable seating and attached bar. In the morning an extensive and first class breakfast is offered and served and in the evening the in-house restaurant Atlantic offers all sorts of delicacies. Pool, sauna and fitness are in the state-of-the-art spa as well as a variety of cosmetic services for beauty and relaxation. The whole service is friendly, attentive and always helpful. A very nice and highly recommended 5-star hotel, not in a central location to the Jungfernstieg, yet still within walking distance.

The food was good, but shortly after 10pm everything was cleared. Really cheeky: the "large selection of drinks at the bars" was not ALL IN, but extra charge, a gin and tonic with regular Beefeater 11.50 extra. And no one has seen pasta.

The hotel incl. RESTAURANT is big cinema. Value for money fits. Wine list fulfills all wishes. The sole is more than recommended, the service is up to the highest standards. The overall package is not cheap but more than recommended.
During my last stay in august 2016, a receptionist wanted to cheat me in the truest sense of the word by 100 euros. I can not remember exactly but she claims that I gave her a sum of 100 euros less than what I gave her. In the aftermath I think that is an outrage. You never forget something like that, so I will not visit the hotel anymore. It is not recommended.
The hotel is located directly on the Alster and close to the main train station. I received a free room upgrade to the junior suite! Thanks again! Of course the room was great. Big room and big bed: D everything was nice clean and the staff was very friendly too. The breakfast was rich and you had a nice view to the Alster. So you can start well in the day at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski!

Fantastic hotel, one of the city's best addresses. The service, the food, the rooms, everything is top notch. You meet with a smile already in the entrance and are welcomed. A feeling that the other staff also convey. You can get help with most things. I was helped to obtain an exclusive bag, a model that is no longer manufactured, and which I was looking for some time. The concierge arranged this with a phone call to one of the city's better stores ... It is a little crowded on the streets, and difficult to park at the hotel, but the concierge fixes. We left the keys cars, valuable sports cars, and the staff take care of them in a professional manner. In short, a great place, for those who appreciate service and style in top class!

What should one evaluate here? The Atlantic is an institution that goes far beyond stars or tests. If you stay in Hamburg and can afford it, should stay here, or at least once in the evening to the bar. The Atlantic is real Hamburg history!

"If it says Kempinski, it should also be Kempinski." Unfortunately it wasn't the case with us. The service of a 5-star luxury hotel is different. We used the concierge service to have breakfast delivered to the room the next day. This is "Unfortunately, it went down somewhere, we are sincerely sorry." After a bit of waiting our Atlantic breakfast for usually 36 / person came into our room by a nice lady. As an excuse we only had to pay for one breakfast and were served 2. For guests who are not so "lucky", breakfast is too expensive in terms of value for money. (The orange juice, for example, didn't taste good.)
The spa offer is a bit puny with a small pool and small sauna.
We were not granted a view of the Outer Alster, but a view of a dirty inner courtyard. But it was quiet.
Conclusion:
It was worth an experience.

You pay a lot extra for luxury in the hotel.

A beautiful hotel in a central location. Price / performance vote. Only the courteous service and the decor of the house are worth their 5 stars. Room very clean and comparatively large. For those who want to spend a nice, romantic weekend in Hamburg 1st choice.
Whenever we were at the Atlantic in Hamburg, it was a special experience. The location of the house, the room facilities, the entree, but for that you should stop here.
But also as a non-overnight guest you are always welcome. And that at any time of the day or night! The Atlantic is always the first choice.
The good name works - still. The hotel is definitely getting old and in desperate need of refurbishment - but only one star less.
The other two I deducted due to personal experience at the check out. Although I only had contact with one employee, each individual employee represented the entire house for me. No solution-oriented and blunt behavior towards the guest - that's not possible. Not in the venerable Atlantic! Pity!
Review only for breakfast: Actually three stars, "is OK". for 35 per nose but not more. Rolls rather baked goods, anything but crispy. Omelette completely unseasoned, also with mushrooms, which I had asked extra to leave out. Other selection good, but nothing overwhelming. Fresh good breakfast is also available elsewhere - but for significantly less money. In addition one sees hardly anything of the Alster anyway, so that the Atlantic here unfortunately nothing special offers.

A really very sophisticated house, which was supposed to get five stars and also at the door but unfortunately this claim is not met by everyone working there. Maybe the lady who served us at breakfast had a bad day but if a guest is not brought what he ordered and a colleague, who probably was not allowed to take any orders, gives her notice and she provocatively takes care of other things who could well have waited, then she should probably work better with McDonald's in such a setting instead of in a five star house.
