This is a filthy and unsafe place with very old carpet, exhaust duct poorly hidden behind drywall and tape in the bedroom. An old house ruined by a thrifty handyman. The add and pictures are very misleading. No value for your dollars.

Unfortunately we could only spend one night here. What a lovely hotel! Beautiful building on a surprisingly quiet street. The staff are really friendly, there's a relaxed yet efficient vibe. Really good breakfast options, comfortable rooms and 5 minutes from Metro, Downtown Montreal and only a short walk to the Plateau park. The only negative thing is the lack of a lift, so if you've got mobility problems it might not be a good option. But otherwise, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Well done you guys.

We stayed 2 nights at the Ambrose Hotel: Good location and lots of charm for this property that I recommend for those looking for family accommodation. Very friendly and cordial home.
If I go back to Montreal I will come back home.

This is the second year in a row I have stayed here while in Montreal. Great service and nice clean rooms. You can also order breakfast and they will bring it to your room. Good price, relaxed atmosphere, and the lady who runs the place is really nice. I recommend.

Old charm; lots of stairs; mere blocks away from major restaurants and entertainment venues. Limited parking nearby; try to reserve a spot being hotel. Used a lot by University students. Quiet environment except on regular week/work days and nearby construction. Breakfast is limited (not always free) but many options in the area. Walking distance to major shops and bars, including Crescent Street.
