Hot Diggity! Dog Walking & Pet Sitting Review

We had to go out of town for about a week over the holidays, and Hot Diggity! was WONDERFUL. Can't recommend them enough. We were worried about leaving our dog because she hasn't ever been watched by someone she doesn't already know, but our anxiety was lifted when we met Sara Joy and Maddie. We loved receiving the pictures after their visits, and we really appreciated the detailed updates. Hot Diggity! is fantastic and we'll definitely use them in the future.

I want to say thank you! I had an unexpected death in the family and had to travel across country the same day. Within 1 hour they had me set up for overnight and day visits. This was around Thanksgiving too. Michele stayed at my house and was beyond amazing!!! I came home to two happy pups, a clean house and flowers for condolences. Awesome person and easy company to work with!

We've been using Hot Diggity to let our aging pups out midday since May when they finally got too old to "hold it" all day. One of our pups is pretty special needs medically but the sitters are always fantastic with her meds. I appreciate that they'll just come for a 15 minute visit to let them out in the yard--everything completely tailored to my requirements. I don't really want them to be walked off the property. In June we added a puppy to the mix and shortly thereafter used the overnight service to watch all three for two nights. These folks are great; so responsive and will do everything exactly how you ask. I was understandably nervous about having someone in the house and trusting him with the puppy but he was great--even taking the little guy out in the middle of the night! No interruptions or setbacks to potty training and a great experience for the little guy to have when he's young so he doesn't get scared when we have to leave him for vacations, work trips, etc. I know the pups look forward to their daily visitors and I really appreciate that they don't charge three times as much for the three dogs.

I have been using this service for well over 10 months and can t express how amazing this organization is! I have 2 little shih-Zhu rescues that get an express walk 3 days a week. They of course love it and so do I knowing they are getting some exercise and a bit of extra love mid afternoon. The office staff are amazing. Website super easy to navigate and most importantly the walkers that take care of mine and wonderful!!!! I recommend this service to anyone who works and feels horrid leaving their dogs alone all day! Happy dogs - happy life for me!

Hot Diggity watched my dogs when I was out of town quite a bit several years ago. Then, a neighbor with a dog and I would watch each other's pups so I didn't use them for a long time. Now, I'm back. The company has grown a lot in that time, in the best kind of ways. The online interface with live updates and photos is great. The online invoicing, payments and tipping are also incredibly convenient. All super professional.

The real deal is that my dog will be 14 in November. His sister (and I mean litter mate, not just another dog I had) died in April and he hasn't wanted to play since. Sara T came consistently for 3 days and loved on him so much he started coming out of his shell again. Now he pulls toys out of his basket on his own and whines at me to play with him in the evenings. It's incredible and so great to see him back!

All the sitters are super sweet and loving with him. But, Sara T practically worked miracles.

We are SO happy we found Hot Diggity! Before we moved to the Portland area, we would have to bring our cat to a boarding facility/pet hotel whenever we would be out of town for an extended period of time, and I always felt a little guilty because it was such an ordeal for our less than social cat. With Hot Diggity, all we have to do is work out a key pickup with our apartment complex's front desk, and we don't have to worry about a thing!

I loved that they set up a little meet up before their first visit, so the sitters can get to know where the food & litter box is, daily routines, etc. We've felt that all the sitters we've worked with have been very professional, friendly and trustworthy- we've even gotten email updates with pictures after each visit (such a great personal touch!). Thanks to the Hot Diggity team for taking such great care of our cat (I'm sure she would thank you for the non-traumatic experience as well)!

Incredible dog walking service! We have the greatest dog walker- he's so careful with our dog's aging hips. He's always on time, spends the agreed-upon amount of time out with our dog and sends lots of smiling pictures (my favorite part)! Easy to use chat service and they're very quick to respond and flexible. When our walker was sick for a couple days, back-up walkers came and they were equally delightful and well-informed about our dog. We're pretty particular about who takes care of this sweet guy, and we really trust them.

We were so happy with this service. We absolutely loved the frequent messages and pics of our baby Olive. That made us feel so much better knowing she was well taken care of. We also really appreciated them checking on our guinea pigs and snake. We will definitely use Hot Diggity again the next time we go on a trip. Thanks so much!

Had THE MOST satisfying dog sitting experience with HD. As a relatively new owner of a 2 year old rescue pup (and new dog owner in general), I was nervous about leaving my pooch Harry (Harriet) at home alone overnight while I went to the coast to celebrate a pal's impending wedding. Jaime from HD was super great with her, and sent three detailed updates about how she was faring between when I left in the afternoon and returned in the morning. I was triply grateful because even though I live slightly outside their normal service area HD was able to accommodate! Would recommend this service to absolutely anybody and everybody.

I booked Hot Diggity to come take care of my cat while I was away. The first visit went fine, with only the litter box being missed. But we got a cute pic and felt things were fine. So I booked a second appointment. That's where things took a turn.

The sitter left my house and didn't properly shut the front door, causing the auto-lock to jam and fail to lock the door. I was not told about this, only found out when I went to check my app. I contacted the company the next morning explaining what happened, and the sent the person back to check the door. This time she closed it properly and locked it, as my app informed me. After fixing the mistake, they sent me a message saying they wanted $15 for a "security check" and that they believe their employee locked the door properly the first time. They proceeded to explain to me how my own lock works, relying on speculation to determine that everything was fine.

When I replied that I would not pay the $15 because they hadn't locked the door properly and needed to fix their own mistake, I got a long-winded response which devoted only one short sentence to apologizing. The rest of the message was about how they believe the employee (which is fine, that's not what I have a problem with) and that my lock was definitely secured properly (no evidence, but hey). They then pointed to the fact that their sitter had marked on the report card "home secured" as further proof that the door had locked successfully (what??).

At the end of the day, companies like Hot Diggity are not only responsible for our pets, they're also responsible for making sure we can entrust our home to them unsupervised. That's very different from taking your pet to a pet hotel. If something goes wrong, it's my entire house and everything in it that's at risk. Based on the responses I got from them, they clearly don't understand that concept, despite claiming peace of mind in their marketing.

I don't mind mistakes, I mind not owning them. If you want to bring a company into your home unsupervised that will blame you, your locks, your phone, whatever they can think of, rather than accepting responsibility (and all over $15!!!), then Hot Diggity is the place for you.

Jill, the owner, is super responsive, she set us up with a meet and greet with our dog sitters right away, the sitters are friendly and reassuring, and the app is totally intuitive and easy to use! When I originally started using Hot Diggity, things were really great. When I left for two weeks, I thought my kitties would be in good hands. I had purchased extra litter in preparation but, when I came home, there was hardly any litter in the box and the new container was left unopened. Half my plants were dead and my cats were stressed. I didn t feel comfortable with just an apology and a promise that they would put a note on my file so I decided to no longer use their services.

I travel a lot for work and have two kitties that need someone to check on them every few days. Hot Diggity! has been very reliable and there when I need them even when it's a last minute "my trip is going over can you please stop by?" They even made sure that my cats were comfortable with them when they were sick and needed their medicine. They are extremely open to feedback and handling the quarks of two inquisitive and mischievous cats. I feel at ease knowing they are checking in on my little ones while I'm gone.

Lauren took great care of my guys while we were away. My older guy ended up at the vet 2 days before we were scheduled to leave so I was very anxious. She took great care and I really appreciated the updates. Was able to enjoy my vacation.

Hot Diggity! was a great choice for our family. They were organized, affordable, and enthusiastic about the care of our kitties. My husband and I were worried about leaving our pets while traveling across the country, but the once a day pet-sitter visit to our home included photos and written updates. We plan on using the same service the next time we leave town.

After having recently had surgery to replace both hips, I needed help walking my dog Fred. For over a year Licia at Hot Diggity faithfully showed 3 times a week to walk my best friend. Myself, Fred and 2 kittens fell in love and so Licia became one of the family. The service has been a godsend. It is good to know Hot Diggity is there if I need them for walks, vet visits, even overnight stays. The lines of communication are good and the service very dependable and trustworthy. I am slow to trust anyone with my dog and all walkers we had demonstrated love and care for animals. I also felt comfortable having them in my home. I do not hesitate to highly recommend Hot Diggity.

Update 2/11/21: due to personal circumstances along with being informed that Bibi has left the company, I'm currently attempting to get my account with HDD closed and a refund for payments made on future services. It's now been nearly 24 hours with ZERO acknowledgement of my request. While Bibi is amazing, other walkers who were sent to work with my girl have either made mistakes that were completely unacceptable or just disappeared after one or two walks. If I don't hear back from the admin office by 10AM today, I'll be attempting contact again until I can talk to someone who can give me straight answers. If they don't immediately start the process of closing my account, I'll be filing a report with the BBB by the end of the week

My dog is very high energy and has a history of some not so great behaviors, so I had to be very careful about who to hire to help with her care

Hot Diggity! has exceeded expectations so far. They had me fill out detailed forms where I could explain my pup's specific needs throughly. Then, they matched her with a walker who has experience with dogs who have similar temperament and size. I got to meet Bibi before the first walk so we could chat a bit and make sure my girl was OK with her

Their website said they were able to pet sit in Sherwood and then they told us they were not able to go to Sherwood. Very misleading. They finally wrote us back and said we are sorry and we will have our IT bring that city down. If they were a good business they could have made an exception and watch our dogs since it was their mistake.

This was our first time using a service VS asking a friend/family member to help care for our cat. We couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism & pricing of Hot Diggity's services. Our sitter Iris was wonderful -- she sent us photos of Freddie after each visit and took good care of him while we were away. Wanted to pass this info along to be of some help in the event any of your customers also hires house cleaners: PDX Cleaning is a fraudulent cleaning company that's under investigation with the IRS, FBI and Oregon Labor Law's Bureau for embezzlement fraud.

We have two English Bulldogs. We haven't taken any vacations without them in the last two years because they can't travel on an airline and don't do to well with car travel. We used Hot Diggity because a friend recommended them. WOW! Service and agreements were upheld 150%. Everyone from the office staff to Corbin, our dog sitter, was fantastic. You can tell they really care about your pets. More importantly, you can tell they care about the pet parents and their worries while away. I would not hesitate to recommend Hot Diggity for anyone wishing 5 star service for your pet.

We've been using Hot Diggity for a week now and our dog loves it. We get pictures and a detailed description of her walk. I like that their online user profile is very detailed so you can share as much information about your dog as possible. Our walker, Alex, was really nice and seemed to enjoy our dog.
I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because their website claims that 30-minute walks cost $19, but when we use the online scheduler to actually set up the walks, it costs $21, and there is no explanation for the price discrepancy.

We have a dog reactive dog, Molly, who is also very shy when meeting new people. On her first visit, Stefani was already able to pet Molly for short periods and was able to get her to sit, lie down, and go to her crate. Stefani s demeanor was so calm, she immediately put our dog at ease.

Since we started having Stefani dog sit when we travel, our shy Molly has become so much less shy about having new people come to the house! Molly had such a great time playing with and getting pets from our last in town visitor and we have Stefani to thank for it. Hot Diggity is also very understanding about always sending Stefani to our house unless they contact us first if a substitution is needed.

I am always nervous when I leave town and usually have a friend stop by to check on my kitties. One of them suffers from asthma and needs an inhaler once a day so needless to say I worry when I'm gone. Our girls were very well taken care of during our weekend away. We have two elderly dachshunds that require a little extra TLC (one can't be walked but is pushed in a stroller). We went away for short trip and I was very pleased with the reports I was sent from my sitter. I chose to have a Hot Diggity Dog employee stay overnight at our house, and it was left just as it was found. I had updates on the girls each time they got a visit... plus pics!!!!

We've also used the walking services while we are at work, and we get updates then, too. I only have great things to say about HDD! We will be booking them for our holiday vacations very soon.

Quick and excellent emergency visit!
We were out of town when I received a phone call from a very irate neighbor who complained that our two dogs were out in the yard barking and bothering him. We contacted Hot Diggity, and Alyssa went to our house right away. She called the dogs inside, closed the dog door, and gave them some attention, pats and treats. She emailed us to let us know that all was well. Our house/dog sitter would be home from work in a few hours. Alyssa prevented a major problem with this "short fuse" neighbor, and we are SO grateful! The cost of the visit was entirely reasonable.

Absolutely the best! I have an older dog with some complex medical needs and they take care of her perfectly, with excellent communication. I love the emails and pictures! I know that my dog is getting excellent care and I don't have to worry because of the clear communication. They have gone above and beyond for us - including when I accidentally left the wrong key and was out of town on New Year's Eve! I am very happy to have found such a reliable and caring service and will be sorry if we ever leave Portland and our trusted dog care family.

We were in a bind leaving town over the holidays on short notice and had no one to watch our dog and cat. I contacted Hot Diggity! and they were very quick to respond and get us setup. Alex came by to visit and meet the animals - she was so nice and knew all of the right information to collect, including info about their routines, paw-wiping, food, meds, walking, etc. I was a little unsure since I haven't used a service like this before, but it worked out so well! The animals really seemed to enjoy their visits and I was able to rest easy knowing they were being so well taken care of. I will for sure use them in the future!

Hot Diggity! is the best pet care service I've come across in the Portland-area. Since adopting my dog 2 years ago, I've gone to and graduated grad school, changed jobs multiple times, trained (and continue to train) a leash reactive dog, and had 3 emergency vet visits. With every change and frantic email for schedule changes, not only has HD responded faster then I could have ever imagined, but they've adapted along with us with such professionalism and kindness. Not only that, HD cares and reaches out to us when they have any questions or concerns. One time, my dog growled at his walker (completely unheard of behavior) as soon as they walked in the door. They made sure he was safe before deciding that it would be better to leave him alone, and more comfortable in his own space. Not only was it absolutely the right call, they notified my immediately, did not charge me for the walk I had scheduled, and they checked in to make sure he wasn't sick or injured because they had spent the time getting to know and care for him just as much as I had. On another occasion, he had been sick late one night, and I couldn't miss classes the next day. HD managed to find two dedicated sitters at the last minute to stay with Otter while I was on campus so that he had help and care if needed. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Amazing in-home service for our two cats. One of our cats is a senior girl with a couple prescriptions, including an inhaler. The Hot Diggity sitters were happy to learn how to medicate her and have administered her meds perfectly every time. They also took care of the home, garden, and brought in all our packages. LOVE the photos and updates promptly after each and every visit.

I recently went out of town for 2 days and needed someone to take care of my dog Jackson. Jax is a rescue that I adopted 6 months ago and this would be the first time that I would have left him for a trip out of town. He has a cone on his head from a hotspot and I was nervous about his care and possible anxiety from being left behind.

In came Starla from Hot Diggity to squelch my concern. She met me and Jackson in our home prior to the trip, learned his routine and put me at ease. While I was out of town, she sent updates and pictures of a happy dog to further increase my confidence in his care.

I discovered that my very anxious fur baby loves to run. I wasn't sure what I was going to do because I don't run. I decided to give Hot Diggity a try and we have never looked back. Tipper enjoys every person he has ever had. Running, hiking....he loves it all and his people love him! They are patient and kind and send great pictures. Stefani and Leslie recently put my mind at easy while I was out of town. My kitty has cancer and they did great giving him meds and sending updates so I knew everything was ok. Lots of photos and having a app meant I knew right away that one of them had come which was a right when we had talked about them coming. Couldn't have been more happy with the service.

My dog walker was always very sweet with my pet, but you have to make all your appointments online or via phone and that seemed to be causing some confusion with trying to get my dog to the airport

Absolutely fantastic service. I was so nervous to travel and I have never left my cats at home and the two sitters who took care of them twice a day were incredible! I cannot recommend more. They provided updates and photos of my babies every time they visited as well as a list of the things they did. One of my cats is very shy and was scared to come out or eat the first few days and they communicated back and forth taking my suggestions and ideas. After those first few days it seemed Sarah had it down to a science. My shy kitty was eating all her food in the 15 mins that I scheduled twice a day. I came home to a clean liter a vacuumed apartment and two very happy kitties. The special diet one of them is one was given proper attention and I was free to be present on my time away, not worried since I saw their happy, silly faces everyday ensuring they were just fine. They even watered the plants and brought in all the mail. Once again, so happy with the service and I will book them again in a heartbeat!

They always take great care of my difficult rescue pup. Regular walks, and some overnights. They are always responsive to requests or and always do a great job. I know my pup is always in good hands! Cannot recommend enough!

Hot Diggity is absolutely fantastic! You can set up the schedules you need for them to come by, and specific instructions for each of your pets. Not only do they follow everything to the letter, but they take wonderful pictures on every visit! They also send detailed emails every visit on how things went. There s no doubt that they love and take care of all of your fur babies.

Easily one of the best pet sitting services I've ever used. Hot Diggity! was 100% on top of communication from the very beginning and kept it going for the entire week that we were away. At one point we were getting three updates every day, complete with photos of our critters (two cats and a dog). I will absolutely use them again.

I definitely would recommend this service. I've been using them for my dogs' midday dog walks while I am at work for several years and they have come through for me numerous times. They are reasonably priced and take their availability guarantee very seriously. They also have been super understanding about the different levels of activity required for each of my boys, one of which is disabled, and they are creative about accommodating them.

Had to go out of town on short notice and one of our cats had a UTI. Had not used a home sitter before and we were worried about making sure that our cat got her meds twice a day (along with food, water, litter). Anyway, we just had the check up at the vet this week and the UTI is gone. Hot Diggity did a great job getting our cat her meds as well as keeping us constantly updated. I would recommend them 10 times out of 10, especially when you consider how expensive boarding a pet is. Thank you!

There is no better pet care in Portland! My 10yr old dog and I are attached at the hip and traveling without her is very difficult for me- knowing that she is being taken care of by any of the wonderful pet sitters at Hot Diggity puts my mind at ease. Receiving a message and photo after each visit is so reassuring, and knowing that she will be visited in a 2 hr window of my choosing is comforting as well, even when I m out of service and can t be in direct communication with my dog sitter. The team is great and there is always someone there to help. They re truly a dedicated, caring, hardworking group of animal lovers and I know that all of the sitters who have watched Bella over the past couple years have really cared about her!
