Hostel 2, IIT Bombay Reviews

I was there as a guest student. I love to eat there at that affordable price. Washrooms were clean as well. And it's nearest to gymkhana.

This hostel has a hostel 2 exclusive reading room, music room and pool room.

This hostel has playground for students to play games. One complain I had was the washroom was not as clean as I expected. Hostel 2 has it own canteen which is too pocket friendly.

Perfect place to hangout with friends.
Good place to enjoy food.

My hostel, home away from home. Staying here for the third year. Memories are created everyday here.

The building is a bit old and I wasn't impressed by their mess food.

This Hostel is very good but needs a little bit of Maintenance.

Very nice hostel with all the necessary facilities. The advance facilities such as laundry, juice shop, stationary shop and canteen are available. Table tennis and TV is provided for students as well as whole hostel is almost in Wi-Fi coverage with lan connection in each room. Washrooms have washing machine as well as separate dryer. It has good night canteen.

Very calm and comfortable place and this is a hostel so, you can enjoy the fun of hostel-life.

H2 mess is cheap,and gives both quality and quantity

It's the place I live in so I won't review it in negative on this public platform. It's awesome anyway and the best place to live in IIT campus.

Don't know much about the hostel.but it's canteen is very good you will get almost everything thing you want to order.

Old dungeon with spiders ,frog..but a lovely hostel and only meant for one person per room..but guess the fate forces 2.

Absolutely contrary to the amazing state of everything else in the IIT-Bombay campus, the boys hostels of the IIT are One of The most horrible form of housing I have ever visited. The flooring of the rooms looked like the roads of Bangalore with crazy pot holes in them... Yes I am not joking... The floor has holes... While there are superb modern structures coming up inside of the campus.. these boys hostel rooms look like they were built 50 years ago and the only modification that they have seen is some periodic painting of the walls. The Rooms are dusty pathetically maintained with cob webs every where... The doors of the rooms are falling apart and the switches look dangerously out of place. One small error can leave you electrocuted. The foot paths and roads of the campus are far more habitable than the boys hostel rooms of IIT-B The most bothering questions are ...
Why does such a dump exist inside of one of the most prestigious tech schools of the country...?
How are students surviving this extremely low habitat....?
Why aren't these hostels renovated when most of the campus is ...?

PS least they could do lay some tiles on the floor...!!

Brilliant hostel. Loved it and its canteen food. Champion hostel in every field, be it academics, sports or cultural. We are "THE WILD ONES"(TWO).

Hotel life is great, I got to live there during mood indigo this hostel's canteen is among the best in iit bombay. But it's a old hostel so rooms are not that great and desperately need a renovation.

Rooms are very small. Even though two students have to be accommodated per room. Mess food is nice. there are small gardens inside the hostel. There is also a shop for stationary, xerox, packed food items etc.

If u r thinking of hanging out with nice food, this is your stop.

THE BEST HOSTEL OF IITB(EXCLUDING THE MESS)BUT STILL HAS THE BEST CANTEEN,AND ALSO THE SPORTS CHAMPIONS OF INSTITUTE....

The buildings are pretty old, rooms are twin sharing, furniture is old and it seems the room rarely get any paint or maintainence, there is a balcony in every room and the windows are in a dilapidated state and very dirty. The washrooms are okay but small in number compared to the people on one floor. The mess is acceptable and the canteen is good .

All hostels in IIT-B is in good conditions but some hotels are really in poor condition.

I've lived in 4 different hostels of IIT Bombay, them being 15B, 9, 6 and 2. Among these the only thing I am impressed about H2 is the fact that there is nothing impressive (self-contradicting but u know what I mean). The rooms are bigger than that of 9 or 6 but still too small for two occupants. There is neither a Gym nor a decent badminton court, which is sort of unique for this hostel. But I feel, the proximity to gymkhana and ground are rightly taken advantage of. Maintenance is as good as any other hostel s so nothing to complain there. Canteen used to be good but not anymore. The reading room is air conditioned , deserves 3 stars.
The only wild ones I came across were the wild shrubs growing on the cricket ground that are cut down every now and then.

At first glance it seems rather old and small... But as time passes Hostel 2 has proved to be my home sweet home and with friends around you in Hostel 2 I have made unforgettable memories.

Pathetic conditions of Rooms. True example of what all a student has to go through before coming out as an IITian

Food of hostel 2 is best among all hostels unfortunately i always forgot my breakfast but my roommates told me about the taste of that too..
If you are in campus must taste the food of hostel two or hostel 9(pluto) and the best part was watching cricket with friends in common room above canteen, playing table tennis. And the most important thing is the gymkhana and the swimming pool both are in front of our hostel... all in all the best hostel life belongs to our hostel TWO (The Wild One)

Nice hostel .. renovated D wing...ground floor toilate condition is always very bad..food quality is ok type...one table one chair and one fixed almirah in every room...free space for sports activities like cricket, volleyball, handball, football etc.

I have spent 4 years here.

Buildings is 50 years old, can fall anytime.

Fan's were very slow, now they are replaced with new Atomberg fans with remote.

One of the best hostel of IIT Bombay whole indoor court is in front of this hostel swimming pool too. Hostel 2 canteen is must visit canteen if you are inside campus. Enjoy the lounge of this hostel play TT watch Tv

Stayed for few days during Techfest 2020 while hosting the International Robot Wars Championship. Clean, old but well maintained. Best part is the almost entire night open, reasonably priced Cafeteria, with lots of options.

Primises are environment friendly and lots of trees preserved, Volleyball, Football, small cricket ground are also inside the hostel primises. But rooms are bad condition buildings are very old. TV room and reading room, Guest launch, Night Canteen facility, Hostel mess are there in Hostel No 2. IIT Bombay busses are also available and have bus stop for Hotel 2.
