It wasn't the worst steak I ever had. I had the Burgundy Sirloin. It was said to be thick cut and I thought it just looked like a regular cut steak and definitely not thick. I also didn't care for whatever they marinate or season it with. But it was a serviceable steak.
Very disappointed. Have been to Hoss's before but not to this one. Food was poor quality and was dark inside. Staff did not go out of their way for service
My husband and I love Hoss's Steak & Sea House!!! If we lived in Pennsylvania Hoss's would see us at least 3-4 times a week. When the coronavirus had the world on lockdown for the first 3 months, I was sick! Sick as a parent telling their children they can't have any candy sick. I was so scared that I would never eat here at Hoss's Steak & Sea House ever again. I called everyday just to see if they had opened back up. No answer! All I gotten was the voicemail. a month & a half later, we found a load to Pennsylvania. High hopes they wouldn't be open still, I was WRONG!! Hoss's is back up and running strong like they had never left. Unliking other restaurants, this Seak & Sea House's food still remains consistent!! We order the 12oz ribeye steak, (sometimes w/shrimp) mash potatoes w/ gravy, snap peas and a crab cake on the side For the love of food this establishment 5star rating has earned it's ratings. See you guys and gals soon.

I'm her daughter, I love it and I don't understand why my parents hate it. I recommend it , though I'm sad they got rid of their chocolate ice cream dispenser. Food is wonderful, soup and salad is SUPER good.

Great food choices, from the American Favorites specials to the soup and salad bar. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive to our table. There was a little bit of a wait to enter and large groups of people being served. Overall a good meal and I will definitely be back.
Steak bad. Very bad. If you are from a cattle producing state, and order a steak at Hoss's, be prepared for a tough, pan-fried blandstrocity. You have been warned.
Our regular place for a salad bar since we lost ponderosa, just wish the salad bar was included with meals and wouldn't cost extra.

FIRST OFF, me and my boyfriend ordered a hamburger and a ham sandwich. It took 45 MINUTES to receive our food. And it was not busy. She brought our check before our food, and when we got our food it was cold. My boyfriend asked for NO LETTUCE, and what do you know got lettuce on his burger. AND his burger was raw in the middle. Will not be returning. Horrible service and all around horrible experience.
Food was not horrible, but was not exceptional either . The staff was friendly, but could tell that they were scripted greetings and interactions. The place was clean, but interior recemvled that of a road side truck stop. Impression could place to stop to eat, but don't expect much.

Over all the food is good, they are consistent with the quality of the food that's served, so we will go back. Both the DuBois, and State College locations.

I nice place for comfort food steaks and soups. Took a star off only since I do like a beer or glass of wine with meals.

Went because it says seafood. Around here that is hard to find. Talapia was dry and clam chowder was more like potato soup. Childs dinner was very nice size and steak was tender. Salad bar was good but not worth going back for.

First time eating at a HOSS's; I was not impressed and don't plan to ever go back to one. Food was ok. I am not a fan of the order-before-you're-seated type of atmosphere (unless I am at McDonalds).
Great add on lunch specials with soup and salad bar. Wonderful soups. Love the toppings for ice cream bar. Reasonably priced. Family friendly.

Stopped in there yesterday to have a early dinner. I ordered the meatloaf dinner, This was undoubtedly the worst excuse for meat loaf I have ever had PERIOD.! It had a very mushy texture and both the meat and stuffing were burnt black where they contacted the pan it was cooked in. The salad bar has been downgraded to basically lettuce and the normal toppings. I will defiantly be looking for a new place to eat when im in Dubois again .

When in DuBois I always stop here. Very good soup and salad bar. French Onion soup is the best! Great servers at this location. They make you feel at home. I could easily eat lunch here everyday!

I usually order off the childs menu and get 2 sides instead of the salad bar ( health reasons) waitress here made it a big deal and wanted to charge me extra even though a childs meal comes with 1 side and the bar... Ordered something different as I didnt feel like arguing with anyone beyond that its not bad
Salad bar is to die for, also their steaks are the best around. I've never had a bad meal at hoss's.
