Service great, steak cooked perfect & nice clean salad bar with lots of options

The food wasn't bad but the place is seriously LOUD. Between the fan, I think it was a fan and the no less than three screeching kids, from three distinctly different tables good luck talking to, well, anyone. The place was nearly empty, I have no idea why they would seat a couple with no kids where they did, no thought went into it that was abundantly clear. Not a place I would go for a relaxing meal. This is where you go if you're low on options, it's not even that economical, everything is an up charge, right down to the butter and marshmallows on the baked sweet potatoes. I've never been charged for butter before and marshmallows are seriously cheap so what the hell? I'm still baffled, honestly the best thing I can think to say about the place is that I didn't get sick from eating there, so it wasn't horrible. It just wasn't great.

Food was good but I'm not Bobby fley so there's that! Tori is a great waitress I ask for her everytime!

In love Salad bar was fresh and I was so happy to be able to create my own salad. Waitress was awesome. Over all will be returning for food in the near future

Real food, no alcohol, friendly people. We were going from Michigan to NJ and had a good dinner. Ice cream bar was a treat.

The salad bar was good but the beef tips were gristle and were not edible. When we told this to the wait staff, nothing was said to fix the problem.

Great People, Great Food And Reasonably Priced!! We always go here a couple times a month but after this we may just go Every Night!! Here's what happen and also Keep in mind they were really busy!!! When we gave our order I asked for my steak to be cooked medium well, when our waitress brought us our meals she asked us to check our steaks (before she even left the table) to see if they cooked it the way we requested. Well they over cooked mine our waitress apologized several times took it back and had them cook me another one. She also told the manager we did not ask her to do this! The manager came over also apologized and took my meal off our bill!!! Now that's what I call keeping your customers happy!!! Thank You Again Hoss's!!!!

Well when you have to send your food back 2 times and still blood dripping out yeah something wrong there. We ask for very well done and comes back 2 times blood. No way in he'll, Eww very sick.

Changed the size of your soup and salad bar bowls and plates so you have to make more trips to the bar

Nice place, the food was ok, my husband ordered stuffed chicken breast and he expected more or at least more flavor. Salad was good and great service

Comfortable place to relax and fill your belly. Everyone else I was sitting with got the salad bar. I regret not getting the salad bar. I was more than full when I finished my meal. However, I regret not getting stuffed on the salad bar.

This restaurant has seen better times. The salads were not as fresh, and the steaks so so. Service was good though.

Just OK. Staff are friendly but the restaurant desperately needs updating. For the money you are better off selecting another place to eat.

I ordered filet mignon. Medium rare. They got the inside right. But the outside - terrible! It reminded me of a well done grilled cheese sandwich. The brought au jus for a filet mignon. It seemed to me that they know it will be dried out. BTW, I have NEVER had au jus with a steak. All I can say about the food is that it was ok. Nothing special. So, they took the price of the steak off the bill. Good idea. It was a long time since I came to Hoss's. I remember their food being better. Based on this experience, it will be a very long time before I come to Hoss's again.

The food was hot and very delicious. Salad bar was well kept and fresh. Bathrooms were clean. This place gets five stars. AND I've worked 40 years in the food business so I know quality!

I am just a little pissed. I'm here visiting my dads hometown. This place was recommended by some locals but for one who is well traveled I put value on things and tonight
I should 've just stayed in my room and had a TV dinner!!
The gravey had the thickness of water the streak was OK, not the worst but no way not the best. But for $20.00 I'd been happier with a TV dinner.

Fantastic steak! Cooked all our steaks perfectly to order from rare to well. Salad buffet was smaller than some Hoss's but everything was fresh and hot/cold. Potato soup was like homemade. Service was fast and friendly,but most important accurate!

Kids meals were awful. The pizza tasted like day old, left out stale bread. The spaghetti was nothing more than noodles, with warmed up, watered down tomato sauce. They don't tell you that you get a salad bar with the kids meal.

Our food was of very poor quality. My husband and I both ordered ribeye steaks and while they were cooked as we asked, the taste, texture, and marbling were definitely lacking to say the least. The salad bar did not meet our expectations either. There was no ranch dressing and many of the other options were empty as well. For the price we paid for dinner here, we were definitely not impressed. We will not be returning. The price for the 2 meals we ordered was comparable to other higher end restaurants. I would have 3njoyed a Sheetz burrito more than the "steak" I was given at Hoss's.

Nothing spectacular. Staff was friendly salad bar was underwhelming. Had the cream of crab soup which was tasty but had some shell bits. The french onion soup was a little bland. Encountered some seriously wilted spinach on the bar. Roll warmer and several hot options were empty on at least 1 trip. Might return and order entree with salad bar or explore other dining options when in the area again.

Basic American bland buffet food. Nothing out of this world nor tasty. Staff is usually friendly and has prompt seating & service. Buffet always keep full and clean.

Always good! Friendly staff. Clean. I would give 5 stars if they would get more of a variety of foods on the salad bar. But I still enjoy it there.

We have been to this Hoss's restaurant before, and had much better experiences, but this time was not so good. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast. The chicken breast was dried out and though. My wife had the same and it too was dried out. I got a couple rolls from the salad bar, which were over-done (I'm thinking the bread warmer was allowed to run dry or over-heated). A friend who was with us ordered a burger which was burned (she did NOT order well done). And, even though we were there mid-afternoon and there was hardly anyone there, we didn't get what I would consider adequate service, and the salad bar wasn't as well stocked as it should have been. Overall, we weren't very happy with our meals.

One of the nicer family restaurants in Dubois. Service is good, the salad bar is ok. Steaks are ok, I wouldn't drive very far out the way to eat here. This was my second time eating here, I don't recall the first time being any better.

Food was pretty good, but I just wasn't a fan of the decor and presentation. Waitress wasn't very attentive either, we had to keep calling her for a drink or basic things like salt and steak sauce that can't be on the table because of Covid. Idk just picky I guess.
