Hoss's Steak & Sea House Review

It was a very good meal.Clever cut steak and the Burgundy steaks were excellent today.

Server did not explain the sandwich what type of meat we questioned it but she had no idea.

Poor service didn't get what ordered. No
apology, acted like it was our fault. Will think twice about going there again.

The waitress roll four four times. Bathroom smelt bad. Food was so so.

Great soups... Lobster bisque and clam chowder. Salad bar included the soups and a dessert bar.
Shrimp was ok.
The reason for 3 stars is that my sour cream for the potato I had was rotten. No manager came to alologize or assure others would not suffer.
I recommend sakad bar and something cheap.

Great place to eat for the area but if you're looking for a good steak go elsewhere. They have a nice reasonably priced salad bar and their desserts are good. Staff if very friendly

Had lunch, food was good, and not so busy. It smelled great outside, like steak and onions. Great salad bar, cheap too, my luch cost me $9.53.

This Hoss's is and has always been one of my favorite restaurants in DuBois. Lunch or dinner, the food will be worth your money. Great beef, ham, burgers, and fish. The soup and salad bar is all you ever need, but pairs well with a Cleaver Cut Sirloin and Baked Potatoe. Good place to dine alone, with the family, or as a group.

Steak was tough. Chicken breast was cold. Everything at the salad bar tasted the same. Will not go back.

My experience at this location turned out to be poor as far as quality of their steaks wait staff very slow don't be in a hurry

Good value for the money. Several soups, bread, nice salad bar and desert bar.

Very upset, prices are higher and the food was not good...not much food for the money..steak must of walked up from Texas

20 minute wait to be seated, stuffed chicken breast (managers special) was cold and our waitress was rude. She left plates pile up on our table and never asked if we needed refills. She took our order and someone else gave us our food. Passing our table several times taking care of other customers, she never only stopped again to give us our check. Will not return to the DuBois location.

This place has gone down hill. I think our steaks were cooked frozen. And if you pay $25 for a ribeye steak you would think you are going to get a good steak, not at this place. 5 of us got the ribeye and they all were bad pieces of meat. Salad bar has gone down hill also. I am not going back and would suggest you steer clear of this place.

The filet mignon was absolutely delicious and the service fantastic!! Thank you for making our 63rd Anniversarie special.

Very nice wait staff. Lettuce not very fresh. Soups really good. Great rolls.

We came in around 6 pm, prime dinner time, the lettuce was yellowing/brown, the add one like onions, cauliflower etc were half frozen, the soups were bland and cold...
Waited over 45 min for the items of the menu, and then it was cold, but it was not that crowded
Stopped going to the one in saint Mary's for that reason, was hoping it was just the location, but apparently I was wrong... Never again will I go to any hoss's

You always get a good meal here and the price is right.

There food is like what my mom used to make. I am 74 years young and it is good country cooking. The people are very friendly it is a great experience.

Great place to go when it's time to treat yourself. Love the salad bar.

Nice managers lunch special. Salad bar, drink and add a hamburger for 99 cents total price $9.99. Brownies had good flavor but they were kind of hard. Two people in our party had the sirloin with gravy and they said the taste was very bland. The server was very nice along with the rest of the staff, being acknowledged with a smile was nice.

The steak had no taste, lemonade was horrid, crabcake has me ready to get sick. The waitress didn't even acknowledge our 2~year old baby and didn't ask if she wanted anything to eat or drink. I don't like giving bad ratings, but We'll never east here again. Truly awful food and sad service.

The food and service was both excellent ! I would recommend the Du Bois Hoss's to anyone. Always am pleased when visiting that location.

Steak was prepared perfectly the salad bar well equipped and the price great for the quantity of food you receive.

I personally love the chicken noodle soup but great salad bar and a good menu as well

We stopped to eat at Hoss' s today. First time we have eaten there in a long time. We will not be going back anytime soon. They are expensive, the food is mediocre. The salad bar is ok. The onion rings were soaked in oil, they were disgusting. The sirloin tips were not cooked as per requested. Hardly anything on the plate for the cost. Very disappointed. We will dine elsewhere from this day forward.

Very limited selection on lunch bar. Service was slow and lacadaisical.

Best food in the whole place was the gummy bears! Staff was inattentive, everything was overcooked. All in all, a terrible experience. Food at a gas station is better.

Decent food, tasty soups. The salad bar could have a bit more salad variety, but the steak was cooked medium (and was good).

We ordered take out, with salad bar. Delish!!! And they give you a big box for salad fixings, a soup bowl and a box for dessert, plus our meal!! A GREAT value!!! And I have to say the Burgundy Steak was SO TENDER you could almost cut it with a fork!!!

Everything was good except ordered medium rare steak was prepared welldone
