I was lucky enough to participate in Mark's fundamental clinic with my husband and two, three-year-old geldings. Many may think the fundamentals are for beginners, but I can tell you with going to the clinic and understanding the smallest mistake I was doing, changed me, and my horse for the better! We all make mistakes. I have been riding horses for over 15 years and learned more at the fundamental clinic than my 15 years of riding. Not only did I learn about horse training, but I learned so much about myself.
This clinic showed me each fundamental step and broke them down separately to help with better understanding. Clint Anderson's online videos helped, but having someone teach you what you need to change for your horse was the most significant.
You defiantly have to be willing to change as a rider first. I learned SO MUCH and broke some mental barriers down to better my relationship with my horse. Once I let go of the control when riding in one of the exercises, I gained trust with my horse. One of the most indescribable experiences of my life! I did cry in joy.
Mark spends time with each person to make sure they are correctly exhibiting the techniques - which helped my confidence when I returned home.
Did I mention the lunches were totally AMAZING!
I could not have asked for a better experience!
Be ready to put a lot of work in, but know the benefits are worth the sore muscles!
