Went to the International Drive facility this afternoon, December 14th 2020. Saw that all the trash compactors were Out Of Service.
Trash is being placed in an overflowing open container. With a few bags on the ground.
Still, I bet that the head-honchos will get Huge Year End Bonuses.

Women at weigh station was very nice! Got wood chips for my garden.

I travel quite a bit and can say without reservation that GSSWA operates the best waste recycling and trash disposal system I have seen or used. It is easily utilized and efficient. One can only wish that other North and South Carolina governments would use the same system.
My husband worked for them for 5 months then they ended up firing him cause he took off work early to take me to a doctor's appointment I can honestly say that they don't appreciate good worker's my husband tried not to miss no more days than he had to was always on time and even came in on Saturdays when asked too this is really messed up how jobs can firer you with out even a warning or telling you anything til the last minute
Very clean place, they work hard to protect the environment.

Very mean people, work you for such low pay. They're too bossy and expect high standards from you for low pay. They even make you pay them for the PPE. They only pay $8.50 an hour.

For a landfill this place us clean and easy to drive
Convenient recycling center and landfill. You can bring your recyclables, cardboard, tires; bulk waste, yard waste, Scrap metal, tv's, and household garbage. I like the way this one is set up compared to the other ones in the area.
We went to The Store on hwy.90. All the stuff there were priced way too much.

Called in ahead of driving 35 min to unload full load to make sure they would be open until 4:30. Arrived at 2:35 and they won't let me in. Closed. 2nd time in past couple months that they've closed early. Last time I arrived at 4:20 and they were already closing gates that are supposed to be open until 4:30.
