I have dealt with 3 prior post hospital care facilities before, and this is the worst.
1. Mom (age 94) was admitted on the evening of Dec 7. When I called the morning of Dec 8, they had no record of her as a patient. After calling the hospital, and confirming she had indeed been transported here, they found her, 90 minutes after she went missing.
2. They were crushing her pills in apple sauce, and feeding "soft food" because she "couldn't swallow". Mom had no such problem, and they couldn't explain where they got that idea.
3. They were not providing adequate physical therapy. They were severely misinterpreting the hospital discharge instructions, and were keeping Mom in bed basically 24 hours per day.
4. On Dec 10, after being unable to get any action from the facility, me and 2 of her best friends got Mom out of it. Even though I told them I would be there at 10 am, they kept us waiting for 1 hour 30 minutes. While sitting in the lobby we listened to several families coming to the lobby to find out information about loved ones because they weren't getting returned phone calls.
5. After getting Mom out, I found that they had the Velcro of a leg immobilizer cinched down so tight that it caused a 1/2 inch dent in her leg, severe foot swelling, and severe bruising. This is documented by her primary care physician who I had her into a couple hours after discharge.
6. The discharge paperwork had a laundry list of goals, and the target date for review was March 7, 2021, or 3 months. This leads me to conclude the facility had no intention of rehabilitating mom's leg and getting her out.
7. Within 5 days of getting Mom out of this do nothing facility, Mom is back to walking similar to how she was prior to dislocating her hip, and her orthopedic surgeon has given the green light for full, normal activities.
8. Then this facility reported me to Arizona adult protective services for making a decision to take revenue away from them and provide better care for my mother. That complaint was closed after about a ten minute phone call.
9. I have reported mom's experience to the state, medicare, and her insurance company.
I would never consider putting a loved one in this facility.
