Our agency has been working with Homeowners Choice for over 10 years and with their subsidiary TypTap since they opened a few years back. Their customer service is phenomenal and the prices are great. Our customers feedback to the claims process has always been positive. The marketing team is great and always willing to help. We are glad that we can offer them as an option to our clients.

As an agent in a very tough market, Homeowners Choice Insurance is professional, responsive and extremely helpful. Between the daily non-renewals and the closing of Gulfstream Insurance, HCI stepped in and assisted us with replacement coverage for our clients. Would highly recommend HCI to anyone looking for homeowners coverage.

Recently my 93 year old mother sold her condo in Florida. She had paid her homeowners insurance a quarter ahead. We completed the paperwork to cancel and request a refund using the forms they supplied. It turned out It was an outdated form with an incorrect address. After two months I called and they informed me they had not gotten the form. In the meantime we got a cancellation notice for non payment. We filled out the forms again a month ago. No refund. We got another cancellation notice from the same person. Numerous phone calls confirming information and receipt of form, still no refund. It is not clear to me if this is just sheer incompetence or an attempt to hold onto $ that should be refunded. Do not recommend this insurance company.

Our experience with Homeowners Choice was a Pleasant one. The Adjuster's Estimate for our Roof was Pretty Much Spot on with Estimates we received from Local Contractors. Any questions/ concerns we had were Promptly Addressed and I would like to Personally Thank Mr. Diggs for Responding so Quickly, for His answers to questions and Guidance throughout this Process. Had damages from a hurricane. I feel like the people that work here do not care at all about their customers. They should really consider taking an extra 1 to 2 minutes to explain what is and is not covered when someone is making a claim. I feel completely taken advantage of. I advise anyone looking, to avoid this company.

Anybody looking for an insurance company please heed all these negotiate reviews. Filed claim in September 2020 after hurricane Sally. Still waiting for proper insurance pay out. It s July 2021and no answer. Hired a public adjuster and he could rarely get in touch with insurance company. Filed a CRN 60 days ago and still no word. I paid my premiums religiously and when the time came for them to hold up their end of the contract, they did everything they could to avoid their responsibilities. I had damage from a hurricane. Their claims adjusters would not return my calls or emails and when they finally decided to pay, the amount they gave was criminal. I had to hire a publix adjuster and then the emails and responses became rude. Do not use them if you ever expect them to be professional or do what they say they will.

Edit 05/11/21: I want to warn everyone about this company's business practice. I was offered 10% of my claim today by Eric to settle my claim and another 2500 if I changed my review. Not only have they never responded to the email they requested I send, but then they try to offer me money to change my review so people wont know what to expect if they use this company. This is unethical business practices and I cannot recommend them in any way.

Originally I had my homeowners insurance with another company and got transferred to homeowners choice. Have terrible customer service and the adjusters treat you like you do insurance claims all the time, therefore you understand their jargon. In addition to that they raised the rates. Shopped around and was able to get our homeowners insurance plus flood insurance for LESS of what homeowners choice were charging us.

The people at Homeowner's Choice have always been very responsive to any and all inquiries. I have worked with them for many, many years, and they always take the time to answer any and all questions, promptly and professionally, and take care of all of my customers. Very friendly and consistently helpful, each and every time I call. And this is true of all of the company, claims, customer service, billing, and managers. I highly recommend this company.
