Hollywood Casino Columbus Review

WARNING ::: DON'T GO HERE! NEW MANAGEMENT, DOESN'T PAYOUT ANYMORE. I'm rarely the type of person who signs up just to bash businesses, but in this case I absolutely had to. As an experienced gambler I know Hollywood Casino used to be a place 1 could go to if they were in need of some extra money. I used to win $50 to $500 per visit if I walked in and played the slots with $30-$90 (varied). However now the past 5x I went here with at least $60 and won nothing more than $10 back???

The management has also taken out the duel virtual blackjack tables and now only has 1 digital table, so that way you can't walk to other side once the dealer starts giving you consistent bad hands. Ohio's Gambling Commission has once again been filled with Greed and Corruption and won't be satisfied until their establishments are raided by the Federal Govt. I'm not a sore loser who likes to whine if I don't win money. But once someone tries to rip me off consistently as an experienced gambler, then that's a problem and insult...

One of the four casinos allowed in Ohio. Has the look and feel of a Vegas style casino. Non-smoking as are all the casinos in Ohio. Good variety of slots, video poker and table games.

Good place to go. The dealers a all nice and allow you to ask questions about the game.

Was here for a meeting and training. Beautiful rooms and the food was excellent. Even won a few bucks before I left on the slots.

Very efficient gaming establishment, that is a business, whose bottom line goal is to take your money. Entertainment, at times, is good. Pimps and their cadre love intimidating others who may walk by them losing and making dumb bets at the BJ tables.

This was the worst experience of my life literally, my wife and I visits the casino's in the area often since moving to Columbus and this has to be the worst time we have had since we have lived in ohio, my card that you get from them to swiped at thier kiosk to earn points for how much you spend and play, was having trouble working for me, my wife and i had to literally get in and out of the cashier/customer service line about 5-6 times just to get someone to come out in help us, mind you, it was not busy at all, but we had to get in and out of the line 5-6 time and wait each time just to get someone to come help, finally after a little over an hour and about the six time standing in line someone came out to help us which they still had to print me off two more different cards before one would even work, which took even more of my time , which it wasn't the time I had wasted that put the icing on the cake for me it was the poor customer service they had at the casino , no Apology was given for the time that I had to wait in and out of line it was the poor custom service that they clearly knew that they were giving, by the time we got everything squared away my wife and I just decided to go and go to Eldorados casino which offers a whole different experience then Hollywood casion thier customerservice has always been great everytime we have gone, just really upset of our overall experience and would hope that Hollywood will make the effort to make sure thier customers do not leave having the experience we have, and let's not forget the free plays that were advertised to us was not honored on our cards as promised, which is considered false advertising , please do better Hollywood casino because my family loves to gamble and you guys are close to were we live we would love to come back and have a better experience than we had but really doubt Hollywood casino would even take this review serious enough to do something about their customers experience

I don't gamble, but the buffet is amazing. Good quality food.

The gambling was fun, as always. But we went for the Epic Buffet. It was TERRIBLE. We had to pay an extra fee just for having some special chef there. So for 2 of us to dine it was just over $70.00. And that's with the players card. It was over $75 without. It was definitely not worth the extra money for the food. What food was up on the buffet was old and crusted over and the wait for the sliced meat or t-bones was ridiculous. At the time, there were only two people behind the counters working. My husband and I are extremely disappointed with our dining experience. We've always had decent food there. It seems tonight, someone really dropped the ball because it was gross.

I am very disappointed in my experience at Columbus Ohio Hollywood casino. Heard about the dining experience and nice New Year s Eve event so made plans with friends and family to come to the casino. When signing up for the rewards cards in advance I asked if there were long lines on New Year s Eve. I was told oh no not at all . If they would have been honest I could have made other plans or came way earlier to wait in line. Anyways, we got there at around 8pm... went to epic buffet.. the line was hundreds of people long.. you couldn t even find the end of it. We then decided to try to order appetizers at the bar with drinks in place of dinner. Guess what... line also impossibly long. Line was several hundred people long at all the bar areas so you could not even get a drink. So being unable to get a bite to eat at any of their restaurants or be able to get even one drink was totally impossible. So we had to leave and come up with an alternative plan for New Years after all we bought new outfits, got hair done, and all the special things you do when you make dress up new year eve plans, so we wanted to celebrate. Later that eve we were brutally attacked and hospitalized and are recovering from what were life threatening injuries. Had the staff at casino been honest and told me that they are jammed packed on New Years I would have been able to made a choice and been able to make better plans for my holiday. So I guess I want to let everyone know do not plan your New Years celebration at the casino. Especially if you would like to purchase drinks or dinner because you will not get the opportunity to order. Had they been honest.. I would have been able to choose another place to celebrate instead of ending up anywhere at the last minute. I believe if they were honest about the over crowding I could have created better plans and could have avoided being attacked and left for dead that night. So if you want dinner and drinks on New Years stay away from Hollywood casino

I like Hollywood but I had a bit of an offputting experience tonight. We were at the buffet. It was steak and seafood night. If you want snow crab, you have to pay for it separately, which is fine. It's not on the buffet. They bring it to your table, also fine. But if you dont eat the legs that you paid for, you can't take them with you. The only explanation I received was, Im sorry, you can't take them, its policy. I feel that should be stated somewhere for all to understand before paying an additional 16.99 for them. We wouldn't have ordered them because the buffet is enough food but crab sounded good. If they were available as part of the buffet, a lack of doggie bag would make more sense. Additionally, what do they do with leftover crab legs? Serve them to others or throw them away? Either way, not really sure how that makes sense. Food waste is outrageous in our country.

Staff is rude. Beer is definitely over priced ($5 for 14oz tap domestic, $7 for 20oz domestic). Will not come back here again!

Excellent place to hang out and watch live music, gamble, live poker tables, varieties of games, and good food including buffets.

Great place too earn some extra cash and games there are liget I like the table games myself and food is great I go regularly

Needs cleaned more, needs more food options that are not over priced.

Slots are terribly tight no stirs for coffee and table games people were on top of each other no social distancing

The casino is very clean. They have friendly staff. As well as great food and drinks!

Great show with George Clinton last night and the seafood buffet was delicious!

It was kinda really fun. Second time there ever. Not a bad place for a first date or something.

Great Staff. Restaurant Staff was great also! Love the slots, and the complimentary fountain drinks are also a great feature of the place. I also love being able to get points and free plays from just using my card!

Fun evening. This place has a great vibe and great food options.

Bright shiny loud music makes you feel like you are in Vegas

It's an amazing but it can take everything in the drop of a hat roll of a dice flip of a card and or push of a button

The bathrooms were disgusting, as well as the areas where you grab condiments outside of the little food court area. Trash cans were overflowing, and it was junk all over the floors. I won't be back anytime soon.

As Columbus's only casino, it's a great place to go to do a little gambling. It's well designed and the staff is knowledgeable. The table minimums are $15 for the most part. It's a great spot for bachelor parties if you don't mind some of the weird people who come here.

The workers were friendly and helpful, location is well maintained with plenty of parking. The seats aren't bolted down so can be moved to give you leg space. My only problem was getting the machines to accept my Marquee Rewards Card. Had to insert several times. I would go again.

Fun place to hang out. More servers would be nice to have walking around. Often it's hard to get a drink order.
Drink prices are a little steep, but not horrible.

The outside looks awful. Very sketchy looking. The inside atmosphere was nice however the consumers was not of much class.

Great place to spend some time, and some money, maybe win some. The buffet on Saturday with steaks are pretty good. Wish we could get our own drinks too but still good.

First visit, won a drawing 250 in slot play, played that into almost 700 bucks. Ate the buffet bbq night it was very good! Very nice casino! I'll certainly return.

Get thrown out of high limit table games for no reason. Been here 100+ times. Said my girlfriend was intoxicated. We hadn't seen a waitress in 1 hour. And she wasn't playing. Told them to watch the videos. Failed. Didn't happen. Have lost a lot of money at this place and never gave a bad review before. I would never recommend this casino. Save your money.

Awesome place to grab a drink and make some quick cash if you time your monthly freeplay right. I also ride the bus alot and if/when IAM waiting for a ride I will hop in just to grab a free soda or coffee! Lol can't beat that convience

People are friendly and food at the o.h. is awesome gaming was fun

What I do know is the staff is friendly and the buffet is amazing.
Get the bread pudding with ice cream on it, deelish.
And the sing along dueling piano guys were amazing.

Where to start....We cannot find much to speak favorably about Hollywood Columbus I suppose putting the fact out there that we has a loss record 2016 for nearly $20,000 and have to BEG for a little food comp. Unlike, most Hollywood Casino's Columbus has nothing to offer NOTHING for their upper level player's. For instance, Hollywood LAWRENCEBURG, Indiana has a Producer's lounge, comps free hotel night, and offers my FREE concert/show tickets. Lawrenceburg lounge offers discounted alcohol drinks and hor dorves and serves FREE meal in the evenings.Columbus Hollywood has not personal hosts for Executive Producers so there is no one but the cage employees to deal with. The young short haired black "supervisor" as she refers to herself, in the cash cage as is arrogant and dismissive when I try to pin her down for answers regarding my account. This is the way I have been treated in my last three encounters with her. Last night, thinking they could not have a more rude employee, I approached a millennial male with a shaved head, he identified himself as MIKE, the cage boss. I know where the black girl learned her customer service style. He, too was rude and would not allow my to state my complaints without interrupting me. The casino has implemented a new system for EARNED dining credits this month. My dining comps were supposed to be loaded on my Rewards card two times this month and neither was on my card. He tried to DISMISS and send me away with a $10 coupon. (The only thing that I could purchase is some of the worst greasy under cooked sandwiches and cold fries at "Take Two" snack bar. I have in the past purchased doughy breading inside fish fillets and raw chicken breast tenders.) The cooks need fired. Back to the rude supervisor and cage boss. We parted company with my telling him that I would return in four days and I expected an accounting of where my dining credits had went. He had told me, it will take him a while to research my account. I may be an old fat white haired baby boomer but my masters degree deems that I must not be near as illiterate as these two employees treat me as. In four days, his attitude best improve and he had better resolve my questions. I KNOW THAT MY BUSINESS PAYS HIS SALARY AND I KNOW I CAN FIND HIS BOSS.
We visit usually every couple of weeks. We won a $2500 slot hand pay in January 2016 and we have done nothing but feed machines since. We enjoyed Hollywood in the early days. Final Cut steakhouse is nice but that I expect when two meals without cocktail is usually $125-$150. The buffet is very average and pans are left empty for the entire time you are eating. Don't go in after 8 p.m., food is empty or low and crusted over.
I could comment on food quality but I will leave it at, if your in to mashed potatoes that you can POUR,,,,enjoy. OH LOUNGE is probably the best bet although we were served spoiled salmon and sirloin steak that could not have been drier or tougher than my husband's shoe sole. They are slow to seat but the pizza has always been great. If your lucky enough to get waiter Mike, he is wonderful, professional and efficient. I think he should be promoted to cage supervisor. In closing, it is nearly impossible to get a cocktail unless your are gambling in the high roller area. In the near future, we will be taking our money to a casino that APPRECIATES our gambling.

The casino was really dirty last night. Every where. But the bathrooms were so bad. Their was urine puddles over a foot big in front of every urinle in the men's bathroom. And some of the stalls had toilet paper stacked up in the corn all tore apart. The worst bathroom I have went in for many years. Standing in piss in a nice place is not a good Saturday night. Their was other issues but that bathroom was so bad I'm not going back. Uncalled for. Wet and slick unsafe.

It's clean, payouts is a little below average.
Dayton Hollywood is still more professional and better than average payouts.

I never seem to do any good here. Think I'll see if they have a Cash App handle and start donating them money that way.
I refuse to waste time and money.

Slots are garbarge you can never win.thinking about going to Scioto Downs from now on.

Nothing wrong with games of chance, but place needs a thorough cleaning, clean or replace carpets, elevators unclean, foul odors at entrances. I also do not understand reason for having one way entrance and exit? I'll return though.

Standard, but nice, bright. Hard to get in and out of, run you around on circles.

They guarantee every person leaves with more money than you came with, so that was sweet, but I got the lowest tier and only left with an extra 1300, so I couldn't give 5 stars.

I'm not much of a gambler, so I have mostly only been there for events. Events are always run well, but the food is hit or miss. Sometimes the food has been excellent, sometimes is has been disappointing.

It is a very nice facility with a pleasant staff. The table minimums are a bit high for my taste.
