Hollywood Casino @ Charles Town Races Review

Smoking allowed at this casino so unless you like the smell of ashtrays and constant tobacco smoke it's not a good experience.

Ate at the skyline terrace and the food was okay at best. Some of the desserts were stale with cake that was hard because it was stale. The service wasn't great due to the waitress having too many tables to wait and our table being very far away from the kitchen for her to get drinks. They had 10 people seated at a table that should have no more than 8 people at it. For a price of $27 per person I'd expect much better food and service. I would also expect to sit at the table and be somewhat comfortable.

Thiefs machines mysterious break down slow to respond. Stay away

It is not the same with only 1/3 or 1/2 the machines. Still fun!

Slots and horse races is your objective here. Very limited table games and they have to get rid of the smoking, very off-putting. Currently the closest sports book to DC but that will all change next year when the law passes.

Saw Robert Cray Band; good show, nice venue. No signage for Venue parking. Park in the East garage (or you're going to see the entire casino as we did!)

If you're a gambler that's your place. Far as the food, that's why it's a gambling place you take your chances. Some is worth the money and alot of it isn't worth giving it to your dog

Went to the Event Center again to see Jamey Johnson. Excellent show. The only drawback is the seats are too close together.

Machines just don't pay. They don't even give free play anymore. More then normal machines out of service.

The machines don't pay out like they use to about 10yrs ago. "GREED" Its a very greedy casino, I have been playing here for over 10grs and I don't hit Jackpots like I did 8 or 10yrs ago. I would not recommend anyone to come here.

The payouts were better from other Casinos I have visited. Here what you come in with you will not keep 95% of the time.

Machines are terribly tight. Been there several different times and days they just suck in your money. Maryland live is so much better. Hopefully Emmitsburg Md. will get everything through and be able to give some competition to this place.

It won't let you give less than one star - or I would have! We waited AN HOUR for a waitress - had to go hunt her down and when we tried to reorder, she told us we had to wait twenty more minutes JUST TO ORDER! Who KNOWS how long it would have taken to get another drink. We LEFT and drove all the way to Atlantic City. It was worth it!

Horribly understaffed in every capacity! The bar inside from the track is rude and SLOW!!!

I had a blast. It was an even night of winning and losing so I was able to hang out for a while. Thanks Hollywood, I had a lot of fun.

Average casino, have live entertainment, would be better without smoking.

What a slice of America. Hard lifes, worn out people, too many children following grandparents, extraordinary obesity, rampant smoking. And the anorexic jockey skeletons are iceing on the WVA cake. Go there to understand America.

Went to the Epic Buffet for prime rib night. Delicious! Everything was fresh and hot. The bar at the other end of the casino let a little to be desired. Two rum punch drinks in cups barely bigger than Dixie cups cost 15 bucks. Ouch. The bar girl seemed like she didn t want to be there at all. Halfheartedly serving us the tiny drinks. The complimentary drinks on the casino floor were bigger and had more alcohol.

They are rude. The damn security are idiots. I have worked there before and they say that they treat their customers right but since I got fired for some bullshit I became a customer and the service is the worst. I hate them and I wouldn't reccomend playing here. Like I said I worked there and I know personally that the games are rigged.

There should be Xtra chairs as alot of seniors have to stand and that is hard for them if they go with their spouses and we were glad to see the cocktail girls back and the machines you're putting in the entertainment center good idea! Alot of your machines are in dire need of repairs and or calibration , but like other folks we like to play at Charles Town

Casino is clean and won a good bit playing roulette. The smoke is tough for the non-smoking crowd but overall great atmosphere.

Very nice, clean looking place. Not at all what I expected, seems smaller than it is, but I didn't explore too much. Seems like 90% of patrons come from MD - Montgomery county area. Saw norm MacDonald and Joe Stapleton. Great show, and a fun time hanging out after the show.

Fun place to visit if you're looking to head to a casino. The track is nice too.

We went there for a Christmas break. Had a great time. Staff very helpful, pleasant and ready to assist you with any questions! Food a little expensive, but adequate. Was very pleased to see authentic Chinese food! Delicious. Slots, were either $.01 or $$$, few $.25 machines. all in all, we had a great time. We will be back!

Well of course I'm going to love it!! Love the large variety of machines here, especially all the 25 cent old real machines. Was a little disappointed and the Eatery area for Wednesday evening would like to have had more staff there and at the rewards counter. But understand its mid January a little slower than normal. Had the young man make me a personal size pizza that I split with hubby it was absolutely amazing ! Won this on my way out the door so super excited!

Staff in Terrace were very nice and helpful
Slot playing was very enjoyable and relaxing for me. Enjoyed the live racing. The pricing of the Terrace Burger was high but very good.

It's just another place for the government to take you money. Work to hard fir mine just to give it away..

Always a great time, the soda machine by the slot machines is disgusting and smells all the way to the good areas. Restrooms really really need someone to actually mop the urine up instead of letting it build up enough to reach the drains causing smelly bathrooms.

Great place . Staff very helpful. Highly recommend! Lost but had a good time slots open no waiting.

I always enjoy my experiences here because no matter Charlestown makes you feel welcome the employees are helpful and approachable will assist you with questions and don't show any prejudices in the least. People that have big businesses for some reason feel they can treat people of color any way because they have done it for so long. A paying customer no matter the color or ethnicity is just that a paying customer and shouldn't be viewed any other way than that! I hope that others in business see this post and remind them selves that the color of money has nothing to do with the color of your skin!!

Lots of fun, not a big casino goer. All the amenities I enjoy, and the buffet was pretty tasty. Would recommend.

It's not the nicest casino, and there's always smoke in the air. But the blackjack rules are probably the best anywhere near DC/VA/MD area.

The staff at sports book are not only an attractive bunch, but very professional and they know their stuff!!!
