They don't deserve a one star!! I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this company. With everything canceling because of the government recommendation, NCAA and now colleges sending kids home and to finish the semester on line. This company will not refund our money. I know this virus has caused extreme measures that we have never seen before. I would expect a reputable company to help people and not try to make money of us. I'm very disappointed with them. I will not use them again.
I ve been a member for a couple years since we joined while on vacation in Mexico, I ve used them a few times to book our weekend trips and hotels. Recently we booked a last minute resort week for Orlando. The 3 bedroom townhouse was beautiful and close to parks. We paid under $500 for the week. Great deal!
I have been a member of HSI for 15 years. We purchased their program in Mexico and had easy experiences in booking and finding decent properties.
This year, HSI quality and customer service has seriously declined. We had a trip booked to Hawaii and paid for travel protection. The hotel cancelled our stay due to COVID, and HSI wanted to provide a credit for future bookings, but I requested a refund. We do not know when we can travel to Hawaii in the future, so a refund would be more appropriate. HSI stated we needed to contact our travel protection plan to seek reimbursement, which we did. They denied the claim stating Pandemics are not covered under their plan. I have left 5 voicemails, sent 3 emails, and tried to reach someone at HSI, only to get a voicemail. I disputed the charges on my credit card two weeks ago, and HSI disabled my account due to a "charge back." I left messages with people in accounting, and left a message for Edgar (twice) in Inventory, only to have NO returned calls or communication.
I would not recommend HSI at this point. Their inventory has dwindled to run down locations in poor areas of town. It is not what it used to be. Save your money or buy with Diamond Resorts or RCI instead.

I have been a member of Holiday Systems Int since 2006. I ve had problems but have choose to think they will do better next time. Well their will be no next time. We have a one week vacation scheduled in Las Vegas starting March 29-April. Once California went into lock down I tried reaching HSI to no avail. I then called resort where we would be staying and they were closing down. Again, tried HSI no answer. I finally went through a recharge with my credit card company (Citi) THEN I hear from HSI about the charge back which they wanted me to stop and they would refund in June/July. No refund. Talked with them last week and was told they won the case and basically I was not getting a refund and they had to review my account to see if they could reinstate me. Not very nice about it, more in your face (ha ha). So because I did not have insurance I am out almost 600.00 because EVERYTHING shut down. Very bad business. I do not even want to be reinstated at this point. Sorry for long post but had to get out.
HSI does not eve deserve one star! They are absolutely horrible. We booked a cruise that did not sail due to Covid19 and refused to give us a refund! The only reason we got any monies is because we threatened to sue.They were sending us emails to hurry and book our next vacation DURING the pandemic! These spam emails were offensive given that they refused to give us our money which we were entitled to. They have since locked us out of our account and require a $50 reinstatement fee.... are you kidding? DO NOT buy into their promise of discounts! In almost 20 years they have not had anything with discounted pricing, they are a joke. Never in my life have I dealt with a company with such a lack of customer service.

Great time share management group. They are very helpful and will do everything to help you find a resort. They re direct exchange process is smooth.
After 3 years of "membership", we have not once been able to find anything vaguely close to what we are looking for. I can not even access the website sice it refuses to recognize my password. Emails to them have gone unanswered. They are ready to send the renewal fee bill in a timely manner with threats to lose your privileges and have to repurchase in order to use it again. It is a lose lose situation.
