Holiday Inn Express & Suites Akron Regional Airport Area Review

Our experience was horrible we had a jacuzzi suite there were bugs all in the hot tub which we had to clean out on our own because they refused to send a house keeper . Our jacuzzi jets blew out dirt and I also have pictures and videos of this happening and they refuse to give me any of my money back or another stay in a cleaner room worst experience ever . NEVER stay there , the service is horrible very snobby and unhelpful they will not reimburse you for any lost cause you have there . This was the location in the Akron airport area .

Had a small issue with my bed not being made, but the staff was polite and fixed it asap. Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was pretty good too.

The employees were friendly and willing to help. Great location. Parking was tuff late at night, when hotel is sold out.

Housekeeper failed to vacuum the room for 2 nights and didn't clean room at all besides make the beds and give fresh towels. We was there from September 29-october2nd. There was food under the bed skirt when we first arrived and they didn't vacuum until 2 days later. The front desk ladies was very nice and understanding.

Pleasant stay. Nice breakfast and many resaurants and ammenities around.

Pretty much everything you could ask for in a hotel. Good internet, breakfast is very good, A/C works, and the staff was friendly

My whirlpool in my room was filthy. I'm just disappointed that is the whole reason we got this room. I just feel the room wasn't worth the money.

Decent hotel however, I was completely unaware of the smoking in certain rooms. My room smelled like a 1980s bowling alley. I am not sure if it was a dedicated smoking room, or adjoined to one, but by the next morning myself and my belongings reeked.

If I could give this place lower then 1 star i would. We spoke with them on the phone to reserve a room.. they never mentioned the hotel was completely under construction. The room was ok but I'm pretty sure they were having a marijuana smoking convention in our wing. I was surprised that the hotel would allow that but when I asked about it the lady at the desk said the person smoking had a card?? Isn't this hotel non smoking? Card or not? The beds were so bad I didnt sleep at all, although we've had many great experiences with Holiday Inn, I'm sure this will be the last time they get my business.

The Room was nice, breakfast had plenty of options, didn't use the internet so I can't comment on speed. The common area was conformable with plenty of seating options. We ended up playing games there often. Really got tired of the people around us slamming the doors to their rooms. The weight of the door and pull of the spring, causes the door to close hard when just let go at fully open. Then when people put the latch out to keep it from shutting, it will bounce loudly. Constantly got woke up at night and in the morning because of it. So not exactly a restful experience.

Rooms are updated and clean. Has a good availability for continental breakfast. Easy access in and out of the parking lot to the city.

Beautiful place with a friendly staff. Their common room is also their breakfast area. It was fantastic! Wonderful fireplace with a flat screen TV above. Very clean! I was there for a meeting and pleased that endless coffee, hot chocolate and tea were offered to guests 24/7. It would be on the top of my list of places to stay in Akron Ohio. Convenient to the highway as well as restaurants and stores including Target, Walmart and Kohl's. The Golden Corral, Dennys Ihop as well as McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell are within a mile or less from the Holiday Inn Express!!

Was in town for a wedding and this place hit the spot as far as value for the money. Clean rooms and great staff. My kids loved the indoor heated pool. We re fans of Freddy s and there was one about 50 yards from the hotel. Big bonus for us. There s also a Target shopping mall across the street so a lot of choices for quick shopping and places to eat. Just be careful of traffic. It s a very busy area.

Just stayed this past weekend for a softball tournament. I had my infant granddaughter with me and while getting ready my daughter found an unknown pill on the floor of our room it wasn't hidden we had a suite and it was sitting right by the coffee table. I took it to the front desk they didn't seem to concerned had my granddaughter found it instead of her they might have been a little more concerned then. Other than that breakfast was good and the seating area is nice but the beds were uncomfortable, there was no towels at the pool area had to walk up soaking wet. Definitely the crappiest Holiday Inn we have ever stayed at.

Stayed over night for a concert at Blossom Music Center. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. They also provide complimentary breakfast when you stay. Easy to find right off the highway.

We stayed for a week, our rooms were clean and tidy through out our stay. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. 4 stars because the internet was not good. My firestick wouldn t connect and when it did it froze.

It was a great stay with a lovely staff. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I recently attended a conference that took place at the hotel. The hotel is in a great location which is next to plenty of stores and restaurants. The hotel itself was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. The manager did all she could to accomodate those hosting the event. The meeting rooms were also updated and decorated nicely.

Air conditioning in rooms inexplicably stops working during the night. Staff was able to offer excuses only; not solutions.

The hotel and staff were great overall, but we were stuck in a smoking room (I didn't know that they even existed anymore).

Very friendly staff. The building certainly has much more to it than meets the eye. Very spacious conference rooms. The entire facility was very clean, including bathrooms. Would definitely entertain coming back as an overnight guest.

My time at the HIE was peaceful and quite nice. The breakfast was great and I don't really have any complaints.

My fiance at the time called months in advance prior to our wedding, requested 10 rooms for ours wedding they give us a date for everyone to reserve the room by, we only use 6 out of the 10 rooms ,2 rooms we're supposed to be with a jacuzzi,the another room was supposed to have two queen or king size beds with a fold-out couch . My fiance went around 3 to check on ours rooms and found out they gave our rooms way without telling us, remember we reserved the rooms months before ours wedding, all they said was we are sorry , all they had available was smoking room for us to put ours kids and family kids in !! Wow so we had to take the smoking rooms on ours wedding day ! Now Skipping all the details of ours wedding ! Now we arrived at the end of the night of ours wedding to find out they give away ours 2 rooms with the Jacuzzi in them . Wow again!!!!!! Right !! Ok let's go on !!! So my fiance goes to find out what happened this time ... all they said was sorry , continue to say we can give you 75 dollars off for all the trouble we went through on the day of ours wedding day .

The Maid didnt make our bed..also it was hot in the dining area..Im our room it got to cold..and couldnt get the temp in a comfortable set..The Breakfast buffet was delicious and also.The hotel was clean and beautiful..I loved how comfortable the bed was..Desk Clerks very friendly..

The room was nice and clean it just wasnt the room we ordered. We reserved a jacuzzi room but the tub was broke so we just got a regular room for the same price. Other than that bummer our stay was nice. The gym was clean and the breakfast was nice what more can you ask for?

When we arrived at the location, we were informed that the pool was not open, however we could use the pool at the neighboring location. We only used the pool once because it was freezing out and we had to walk across the parking lot to get to the other location. We had to take towels from Holiday Inn and bring them back with us. Major inconvenience. The pool was not open our entire stay.
We were in a suite with a pull out sofa. The rooms were small and the decor is outdated. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about and the pancake machine was not working the second day.
Check out was at 11 am, I had inquired about a check out at 12 pm because we had an early game. The front desk attendant was reluctant to give us an extra hour until I reminded her of the inconveniences. Will think twice before booking Holiday Inn again.

Holiday Inn Express was great the staff was all smiles and got us checked in fast and the room was CLEAN, plus they helped us get food delivered right to the room and that's big when you have been driving for hours. It was a home away from home A+.

Our group was there for a meeting and I can't say enough about the management and employees. While the hotel isn't the most modern, the service is comparable to luxury hotels without the attitude. A high five to the manager, and desk, shuttle and housekeeping employees.

Even though they were under construction, Stephanie B and the others were amazing! Made my stay outstanding.

Staff is nice. Bed is comfortable. Shower (handicap accessible room) leaks on to the carpet by the bathroom door and was starting to take on an odor.

I am going to give this hotel a 5 star rating, taking into consideration that it is a smaller hotel in a very commercial setting. Nearby on the same street are a Residence Inn and a Hampton Inn. All appear to be newer places We had people in our group relocated to these other hotels, so maybe one owner? Anyhow, aside from the view of a tractor trailer parking lot out the window, the room was clean and not cramped at all. The bed was comfy and the pillows very decently plump. (We had had saggy pillows the week prior at a much more expensive hotel). The shower was the high point. The tub was full size, and the ADA bars were located as so you didn't whack your elbows when washing. Plus the shower head was set for someone over 6 feet. No bending over to get the head wet. The TV was a decent size, plus, you got about 5 HBO channels along with the usual channel line up. The staff was great, very friendly. Breakfast was included and very decent. Scrambled eggs, meat, cereals, breads, rolls, pancakes, and more. The only caution was that there is a freeway just outside the rear side. I didn't hear it, but my room was on the other side of the building.

Nice facility. Free breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit & of course coffee. They even have flavored creamers). Reasonable rates & comfortable rooms. Fridge & coffee maker in the rooms. We had plenty of space!

Disappointed, I ask to a wake up call and never received one.

The two servers were great they gave us upgrades for free.

The service hear is unbeatable by anyone else anywhere. The room is comfortable and very clean. The staff is friendly and exceptionally helpful. The room rate is very fair. There are lots of places to eat near by.

Attended a business meeting in the conference center. The staff was courteous and helpful in finding our location. The facility was clean and well-stocked for what we needed

Very clean rooms and bathroom. Kim the lady at the front desk is very friendly and makes cookies for the guests and to top it all off she is helpful as can be. Couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you all at Holiday Inn for the nice stay!!!

price was a little high but the room was clean and service was excellent.

What they dont tell you is to go online and make reservations even if you are standing at lobby desk. $40-50 savings. I even asked while at the desk. Called back 20 minutes later and there was nothing they can do so they say. GO ONLINE BEFORE MAKING RESERVATIONS AT DESK!
