A kid committed suicide while i was here. Super smart super nice guy its sad. Please read this before deciding to send your child here they will be scarred for life. After leaving this place i would have nightmares about getting sent back. This place should be shut down. None of the money goes toward the children's treatment plan. The beds are old all the food comes in bags and the fruit you do get is soft, its disgusting. The guy that owns the place lives in a huge beautiful house. They need to be putting money in to have cameras and better housing supply like better furniture and bedding.

Hoffman helped me a lot. They try doing a lot of fun things for the kids like buying them stuff. Their rules are a little tense but when I was there I was platinum, the highest level so it's not that bad. The staff make the food. You got to either Hoffman Academy, the on campus school; only for residents and day students, Cyber School, and Public school. They have Horse Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, and Pet Family. It's great there.

I was there just recently I have been home for a month and I kind of miss it. You become like a family with the kids and staff and you connect with them. It doesn t have the best food but the chef was trying different things out all the time. Most of the staff were really nice and helpful my favorites were Ms. Tina, Ms.Jules, and Mr.Jones. They are all Mussleman staff. If I had to choose an rtf to go to again I would no doubt choose Hoffman.

Should be shutdown....don't trust no one. No one will have your back. You will take abuse from the children while your teammates do nothing to help you. HH will hire just about anyone due to their high turnover, even ones they know are not capable to do the job. HH reminds you of a college campus due to the amount of young employees. It's like your in an episode of 13 reasons why minus the suicide. Management is shady at best. Supervisors and program managers will do anything to cover up situations. Supervisors spread employees protected health information to fellow staff members. HH hires felons and drug addicts to watch over these kids. A supervisor and two MHW's were charged with child endangerment for failure to report sexual abuse are still employed there, one was just recently let go. The houses are so dirty and nasty. All the food is processed, the only thing close to fresh is the rotting fruit. Not a place I would ever want my child to go. Parents who send their children to HH should be ashamed.

The kids living there don't have enough rights, and the rights they do have can be taken away easily. If you act up or have a bad day once, say goodbye to seeing your families, having ANY phone privileges, or even think about getting out for your birthday for even a day. One you're at Hoffman Homes, you can kiss the outside world goodbye, because you're isolated. It's like you're not even a person, and you'll never adjust afterwards.

I worked at Hoffman Homes from 1984 -1986 in the school Chapter I math lab and my wife Becky worked with Sara in the Reading Center. We also worked as MHW for the IT program. Many children have been helped here over the years. No place is perfect. The type of problems these children have are difficult to solve. Having a good education in the mental health field and a lot of patience is so very important. My wife and myself were both college graduates and were able to gain valuable experience working here and have very fond memories of all of the children we worked with. The food here was great. The best anyplace. Best wishes to everyone at Hoffman Homes.

I was a patient at Hoffman Homes. The staff where extremely abusive both physically and mentally to me and others around me. 10 years later I still have problems coping with what happened to me and I suffer from PTSD. This place needs to be shut down.
