Loved visiting here today! Daniel was so informative, we could have listened to him speak all day. I should have asked him if he sold any of the arrows or other things he makes, they were that good! The blacksmith and the guy making the buckets and barrels were very good also. I loved how the three of them spoke to the all of us visitors, asked if we had questions, and retold historical stories, and explained what they were doing.
The glass house... they were not that great. We were so interested in seeing the glass works and learning a bit about it but they were not interested in speaking to us at all. In fact, they spoke to no one other than each other the entire time. The lady in the gift shop part was very kind though.

We brought our family here to learn about the beginning of America and the early settlements. It did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and the park was immaculate. So much history, information, and value here. Our kids picked up their Junior Ranger booklets and spent a good amount of energy completing their activities and earned their first badge!

We joined the living history tour that brought to life the journey, stories, and hardships of the new settlers. It was truly moving and I think this was my favorite part.

There are benches by the water and we had a lovely picnic as we watched the ferry, people riding their jet skis, and Virginia wildlife.

If you continue walking the path that leads to the ruins of building and happen to walk off path, please use bug spray and check for ticks.

Overall, it was a great day spent outside, learning about history, and enjoying nature.

This is a must see! We marveled at the educational materials, the displays, and the historical information provided at each display. We walked out butts off and enjoyed every minute of it.

This was a very educational National Park that has a working archaeological site. The Archaearium was exceptional. Not just the artifacts but the entire museum. The ability to talk to the archeologists was really interesting. This is such a well done location including the church and graveyard. A must see place for those interested in American history.

There is a lot to see and learn about here. We only toured Jamestown but you can tour two other sites. It is an easy and leisurely walk with plenty of information to satiate your history appetite. The views of the water are wonderful. You can take a rest and have a drink or snack in the cafe right on the water. Be sure to visit the museum for additional historical context. If you have national park pass, you'll get a nice admission discount. Plenty of parking on a Saturday.

Loved the history , seeing the archaeological digs in process, the artifacts in the museum & sitting by the water getting a snack & watching the ferry go by. Most informative & relaxing day I had in a long time. Pressed penny machine was available & got my national parks passport stamps.

Great national park!! This sits at the actual original fort location, and if you hold a national park pass, it's free entrance! We thoroughly enjoyed it!! Easy walk (totaling a mile) on paved and gravel paths through shade trees right along the James River. Learned a lot about the first colony and didn't go broke doing it. Highly recommend!!!

This place is where the beginning of the USA history began. Not James town settlement however it is five min away from the museum. It is spectacular to observe and the history is so rich. Archeological digs go on right in your presence. Must take whole family!
