They have lots of handmade unique art. They support local artists by displaying their work. If you like their stuff, ask them about final friday events which is the last friday of the month sometimes.
Wonderful for gift purchasing. If you are buying someone special a gift, check out this store and spread the work of local artists.

A good variety of artwork to choose from. Not your typical art gallery. Sue the manager has always been helpful, and the staff likewise. Final Fridays are at the end of the month.

This place always has such beautiful and varied work. They have a good combination of high end as well as affordable pieces. They tend to be my standard place to go when looking for gifts, as I can usually find something that fits the person, is in my budget, and is really cool.

Their products are interestingly varied and seem reasonably priced but the clerk ignored repeated requests for assistance while passing by me to serve apparently better dressed customers who had just walked into the store.

Excellent gallery with great assortment of pottery, glass, jewelry, and other artist produced items....something for everyone at a wide variety of price points...only complaint we had was that too few of the artists seemed to be locals.

To start the first day of March and the continued birthday year long road trip, I drove to Lawrence, Kansas.
This visit triggered a lot of memories and gave insight to the growth of the college town over the years. To my delight, Phoenix Gallery provided the visual stimulation I needed before working on my current manuscript.
The store offers pieces by local artisans that is unique, fun and functional. The gallery setting offers the best display of all that it has to offer through the use of natural and regular lighting. I found another shop downstairs that displayed wall art with an artist at work on a portrait. Admiring the work of other talented people stimulated the need for me to move forward on my own work. The staff was very helpful especially Sue, who assisted in helping me find Paris themed items.
Overall: Phoenix Gallery does not disappoint in your search for the exceptional.(There is a request not to take pictures inside the gallery. It's to respect the work of the artists.)

Really a wonderful Gallery however it's really not big enough to do the local art scene Justice it's very trendy and incredibly hard to get your work shown. I feel they would thrive in a much larger space

I love this place. Everytime I venture to Lawrence, I try and make a pit stop here. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable in what they have which is a plus. I love their array of different art as well as handmade pottery which changes from time to time. One of those places that you need to go to if you can.
