Himalaya Yoga Valley...my pride ,family and second home...
Four years ago i was looking for a widow of change , i didn't know that Himalaya Yoga Valley was the door ... a door to a new peaceful loving and healthy life...
when i completed the 200 htt ,i was so sad leaving Mandrem , all the beautiful moments , the souvenirs and the lovely people i met...
the birds were the morning alarm to start the classes,
butterflies company all the way to the shala ,the huge trees ,the sunsets and the stories of the starfishes on the ocean....
One year later ,nostalgia took me to Spain for a yoga retreat to meet my teachers again , it was amazing ...
My plan for the 500 htt is my priority now .
next week a Swiss friend that i met during my ytt and was a very close friend is coming to visit me home in Beirut ...

My wife and I did the 200 hour teacher training in Feb 2019. We thought this was going to be good. It was far better than we ever expected.

We absolutely loved the course, we developed our practice in so many ways, and we learned so many new things to put into practice back at home.

My first experience of yoga retreat in India at Himalaya yoga valley has been simply amazing.
An oasis of peace and nature where the sound of the birds and the tree leaves accompany you during yoga class.
As a beginner of Ashtanga yoga, I started loving it!
An ayurvedic center, a very good cook (note: I m Italian) and great personnel complete the picture of the center.

Additionally one of the most beautiful beaches of India is only at 10 minutes walk...

I take my RYT 200 certificate with Himalaya Yoga Valley in Cork in 2015 and last February I joined my Himalaya Yoga family in Goa for a retreat, it was such a beautiful experience! Everything was simply perfect, the best match between yoga practice, beach life, good and healthy food, lovely people. Highly recommended also for women who travel alone: the Himalaya Yoga Staff will guarantee you a very safe journey and stay.

I've been a student of HYV since graduating on their 200hr Teacher Training in 2010. In 2016 it was time to complete my 500hrs and returning to my first school was not a question.

Taking my Yoga Teacher Training at Himalaya Yoga Valley was a life changing experience in so many ways. When I first applied for the 200hr TTC in Goa it was really to improve my personal practice and knowledge of Yoga, I hadn't intended to become a teacher. But because of the amazing teaching team, and because the training is designed in a way that builds your teaching skills and confidence, I started teaching classes as soon as I got back to the UK. I've been teaching for the last 2 1/2 years since, and every class is more rewarding than the last.

The location of the centre in beautiful Mandrem, Goa is perfect, secluded enough that you can relax and focus on your studies, but close enough to the town and the beach that you can get out for breaks to clear your head when you need to...which isn't so often because the food at Himalaya is amazing and hard to beat!

This school is friendly, safe and peaceful. The teachers are amazing and the training is thorough and professional.

The 200 hour teacher training instilled discipline, gratefulness, attentiveness to the present moment, confidence, respect for the "source", and the skills to teach yoga. My training at Himalaya Yoga Valley was thorough, dynamic and rewarding and gave me everything I needed to start teaching immediately after I graduated. The whole team are warm, knowledgable and supportive. I highly recommend Himalaya s 200hr teacher training. It was such an incredible experience, of personal, professional and physical growth. The programme is really comprehensive, providing all the tools and understanding to teach a great (safe) yoga class - but also takes the student much further than the physical asanas of yoga.

My time at Himalaya Yoga Valley was such an incredible and transformative experience. The course was so well organised and appeared to be completely seamless. Reflecting back on how much we managed to do in just a month, it s clear that it s the efforts of the wonderful staff which helped us to do so. I had fears about coming to India for the first time and being so far out of my comfort zone, but I ve now come to see Mandrem as somewhat of a second home because of all the support that was readily available which actually gave me a sense of comfort. The course is a great mix of theoretical and practical and at the same time it is just a transformative journey that you can t help but be changed for the better at the conclusion. We learned so much but never at a pace that seemed overwhelming. The way that we started teaching in pairs and how it led up to groups allowed for us to build up to teaching in a way that seemed natural and not forced. We also get to a chance to lead a meditation class which initially I was very scared to do but actually looking back it was my favorite part of my time at Himalaya Yoga Valley and a memory I will cherish for a lifetime. All the staff has a way of planting seeds and allowing us to grow in our own direction. I look at my my month in a Mandrem as such a privilege and would highly recommend this course to anyone!

Himalaya Yoga Valley is truly remarkable. From the teachers, to the chef's, to the staff. Every part of my Experience with them is treasured. Their willingness to continue learning and training after completion of their course is outstanding and I for one feel I have got my moneys worth 10 times over. The campus in Goa is in the perfect location, just far enough from town for it to be peaceful but not too far that you can't hear the sea. The food was so delicious and healthy I felt like I had been given a new body. I managed to make friends for life and most importantly, I made friends with myself.
The have given me the tools needed to do what I adore for a living and pass on the wonderful teaching of Yoga.

In 2012, I completed 200 hours of training at Himalaya Yoga Valley. Of course it was difficult because I did not have the English ability of a returnee child, but I think that I had a wonderful experience in consideration of it (thanks to the warm support of teachers !!). I think that the opportunity to be able to learn from professionals on that road in such a well-balanced manner both in the traditional aspect nurtured in India and the aspect that has spread from there in the West is very valuable. There was support even after completing the training, and one of them, the intern system, was used this year (2019), but I came back impressed with the fulfilling days that I still have a lot to learn. There are also five such stars. We will respond in a very polite manner, so if you are in trouble, you may want to inquire.

HYV is a beautiful, well-run center for yoga students and teachers in the North of the Indian state of Goa. The center itself is comfortable and welcoming, and the facilities (including a sizable swimming pool and a terrific chef!!) round out the experience of training or retreats perfectly. The beach is a short stroll away and day-trips to all kinds of interesting place can be organized with the help of the staff of the center. The local Ayurvedic doctor has a clinic in the center (and another larger one nearby) so Ayurvedic treatments and massages can be incorporated into a stay.
It's my first time here (I'm a beginner) but it won't be my last.

The curriculum on the programme was comprehensive and delivered in a supportive learning environment. The whole operation is very well done. I did the 200hr TTC in 2014 and the 500hr TTC in 2015 and i can honestly say it was a life changing experience for me. I have always loved Yoga but was more into the physical practice and the physical benefits of it. To completely absorb yourself in all aspects of your Yoga practice, theory and teacher training without distractions from home life, i think, is the best and only way to do it! To have a teacher like Lalit who has grown up in India with their traditions and with Yoga in his life from a young age is an amazing experience. You learn so much from him and all the teachers at Himalaya Yoga Valley. I now treasure the whole philosophy of Yoga and every aspect of it and have experienced myself how it can really unfold deep tension, stress and anxiety in the mind and body and create less suffering in peoples life. Himalaya Yoga Valley's 200 hour Teacher Training gave me the best experience of my life. It's not just a Teacher Training but it gives you a whole month to experience the authentic lifestyle of Yogi's following the ancient practice of Ashtanga Yoga.
The teachers are some of the best yoga teachers I've ever come across, I totally trusted them with the responsibility of teaching me what I needed to know to be able to teach this beautiful practice.
Aside from the Teacher Training aspect, the 200 hours changed me as a person...for the better. It's something that is hard to describe in words, easier understood through experience.
I hope to see the centre and the teachers again in the future.

My heart is so full after just having completed my 200 hrs yoga teacher training with Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre. I completed the course with a blended approach, completing the first module online followed by the second module in person in a classroom/studio environment with the team here in Cork. In module A, the first two weeks were live classes, including chanting, pranayama, meditation and asana along with live lectures covering philosophy, anatomy and ayurveda. I was blown away at how seemless these two weeks were run, everything about it was so professional and engaging and I really felt like I got to know the team over these two weeks. The teachers are bursting with knowledge that they are so eager to share with their students and I instantly could acknowledge their passion and desire to do so. After the two weeks I could work to my own schedule to complete my assessments, I was really grateful for the flexibility whilst working full time alongside this. For module B, I attended 9 days with the team in Cork, whom I already felt I knew so well. During module B my confidence grew little by little without me even realising and by the time I was sitting my asana practical I was really starting to feel like a true yoga teacher. Experiencing this alongside my peers, whom are now great friends to me, was a whole other element to the training which really made it for me. If you are tossing up where to do your training and have found yourself here looking into Himalaya Yoga Valley then I cannot recommend this school enough. This is the best decision I ve ever made in my life... I wish all my loved ones and anyone really could do this course. It is highly intelligent course for inner work and for strengthening your practice. I would do it a million times again with no thought. I graduated from Himalaya yoga valley school December 2016 exactly one year ago at this day. I had such and amazing experience with every single person who is working and teaching me. Hard to find a negative note on this experience, actually impossible. The teacher training with Himalaya Yoga Valley has been just amazing for me.
I got to know about Himalaya Yoga Valley through a fellow yoga teacher who had trained with them before. I based my decision to attend their training on this direct reference as well as on my personal research done afterwards on Himalaya Yoga Valley website as well as other students reviews. Everything was telling me that it was the right place for me. Because of this, I set quite high exceptions on this experience, and now I can say these expectations have not only been met, but largely overcome! For many different reasons.
First of all, the quality of the program: extremely professional, with an academic approach under various perspectives: variety of subjects dealt, perfectly-organised schedule, practical approach combined with theoretical lectures and study, development of each-student s personal practice as well as theoretical study and practical experience of teaching techniques, personal study as well as team work, provision of valid and strong tools for becoming a good teacher straight after the training (which I found very important to realise the amount of the competences I was building though the training as well as for giving me the confidence of knowing that I would be able to teach with high standards right after the training).
Second of all, the quality of the teachers, none excluded. Under Lalit guidance, every teacher has contributed to passing her/his knowledge to us very effectively and thoroughly. All very high-level teachers; Lalit really outstanding. I can certainly say that Lalit will always be my master and I will always be his student, humbling trying to pass what I have learnt and will learn to my upcoming students.
Third of all, the incredible opportunity to live for an entire month focusing completely on myself, my self-development as well as the investigation of my inner-self. I realised how important it is and at the same time how difficult it is to do it in our every-day life. Mostly, I realised I did not have the tools to experience such investigation. And this is what I got from the training too. This deep personal understanding is really priceless to me.
Last but not least, the whole structure and amenities offered. Starting from the rooms, very comfortable and clean, to the yoga shalas, to the restaurant (serving delicious fresh veg food every day), to the swimming pool. Important to mention the location as well: Mandrem in Goa is a lovely village by the ocean, with a beautiful beach, easily accessible from the Himalaya Yoga Valley centre. Everything is walking-distance and the area is very safe.
To conclude it worth mentioning that, after only one month from the training, I had already the opportunity to cooperate with a studio in my city on a regular basis, having now classes scheduled for the whole new season. In addition to this, I am about to negotiate an agreement of cooperation with two other studios as from the start of the new school-year.

Himalaya Yoga Valley in Mandrem is a refernce point in the international yoga scene: best School, best teachers, best food! I did my 200hrs with them in Goa and can recommend them as the ideal place for both studying yoga and going on a retreat.

Amazing facilities in the beautiful jungle of Goa. Off the main road, quiet and peaceful. Best place to meditate, perform yoga or just relax. Excellent restaurant, best coffee in town and more than reasonable prices. Clean and refreshing pool too!

My boyfriend and I just graduated from our 200 hour Teacher Training and it was and is so amazing! The processing of all the things we learned and the positive changes we made on physical, emotional and mental levels will start now. When you are on the path to become a better version of yourself and sharing that with others, applying for a teacher training or a retreat is definitely worth it! The accommodations in both Goa and Cork are beautiful! Lalit, Eveanna, Tony, Yogita, Maeve and the dogs are professional teachers :)

Himalaya Yoga Valley was the best experiences I have had in my life thus far. I do not even know if I could begin to possibly express in words how life changing it was for myself and all of the friends I have made along the way throughout this international program. It may sound cliche, but it was literally a dream come true. Everything that I had imagined and fantasized it would be, it was.. but more. The accommodations, the knowledge, the energy, the experience, the staff, the food, the vicinity, the fellow yogis, the location, just everything about it was absolutely perfect. Not only did my yoga practice grow and improve tremendously within those 30 days, but so did my mental health, spiritual connection and overall well being. What a great experience it was to study at Himalaya Yoga Valley. As a high school teacher of 10 years I understand what makes good teaching and these guys have really got it right. They have a wide range of teachers specialised in their subjects including philosophy, Ayurveda, anatomy, asana, teaching methodology and lots more. The course is so well structured that you are learning so much without feeling too overwealmed.

We were given a broad introduction to the path of yoga which many of us now realise is far more than postures. The accommodation and food was excellent and having the beach and amenities of Arambol close by were amazing.

I am very fortunate to have found Himalaya in countless yoga schools and have just completed the qualification of 200 hours of yoga teacher certification. In just one month, I not only met yoga enthusiasts from all over the world, but also unexpectedly learned new knowledge far beyond expectations.

Himalaya's teaching method is very systematic and gradual, which makes me understand and understand many new contents unconsciously in my daily study. The teaching concept is also to enable students to build skills and confidence in teaching in just 200 hours. . I only want to strengthen the original intention of yoga training, and now I am really confident in the plan of teaching. Indian yoga master Lalit and his team are very professional. Lalit looks like a very serious master, but in fact, he found that he is humorous and intelligent. He only enjoyed a lot of words and enjoyed him. Every time you teach. Every teacher in the teaching team has a lot of charisma and passion. What touches me more is that each of them is teaching with heart and attention to the emotions and growth of the students. Let us have the warmth of a family.

The environment of the yoga center is not as simple as I thought it was, but it is very clean and comfortable. The aunts come to clean every day, change the bath towels, and change the quilt cover for about 3 days, as long as they don't drink Indian tap water. The quality of the restaurant in the yoga center is also very high. The menus are different every week. Although it is a bit greasy for four weeks, I am now thinking about the food in the restaurant. It takes about 10 minutes from the yoga center to the beach of the local town of Mandrem. Many Europeans and Russians rarely see Asian faces. The town is very safe, the locals are very friendly and simple, and many restaurants are relatively clean.

All in all, it is recommended for friends who want to learn more about yoga and really want to learn solid knowledge. If English is not the first language, the teaching team will give you extra help, but basic English is still very important, because all courses Books and homework are mainly in English, especially philosophy and anatomy, and the requirements for English are still relatively high.

I have had the pleasure of long association with Yogi Lalit ji since when he was pursuing his yoga studies under the guidance of great saint of Himalayan tradition Swami Veda Bharti ji at Gurukulam established by him at Swami Rama sadhaka gram. I have a great memory of some personal yoga sessions with him and great spiritual discussions regarding higher pursuits of this human life. Being an Ayurvedic physician and health consultant I have met a lot of yoga teachers during the last two decades but he is an amazing person, experienced yoga teacher with exceptional qualities and fully dedicated to promote the authentic Yoga teachings.

This is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in your yoga practice. I spent here 10 days on a retreat and I have been excellently taken care of. From delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals to relaxing Ayurvedic treatments and massages. The yoga teachers are excellent, patient and very knowledgeable. The rooms are comfortable and clean. In January 2010 I arrived at Himalaya Yoga Valley, passionate about yoga and with a head full of dreams, to do my TTC. I learnt so much from Lalit and the whole team and a month later I returned home with enough confidence to start teaching immediately.

I completed my 500hr Teacher Training and an Internship at Himalaya Yoga Valley in (2018). No words could ever express my immense gratitude for this school and the staff.

The staff are highly qualified and deliver lessons with such professionalism - they are all a wealth of knowledge and incredibly open to share what they know. They go above and beyond to ensure everyone understands the content and even stayed back after classes to further assist us. I particularly enjoyed having the freedom in the 500hour training to pursue my passion on the area of Yoga for Stress Relief and to share that with my fellow colleagues and receive valuable feedback from staff so that I can build workshops and classes back home to help my students. Furthermore this training is made even more valuable by being able to learn from the other students and their area of studies. It was eye opening to see just how much Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama can make a difference to people whether it s for cancer recovery, empowerment or anxiety (just to name a few)! Lalit s Asana classes are incredible and he helped everyone understand the importance of establishing a ritual of meditation, pranayama and self practice. I know that after a month of having this ritual my health has improved and I can t wait to continue this ritual back home in Australia. This school prides itself on honouring the source and it certainly makes a difference - we were taught not just how to teach yoga but how to embrace the yogic lifestyle which is quintessential in not only improving your own wellness but your students. The rooms are cleaned everyday and have everything that you need in it - the food cooked by Simon and the staff is just out of this world good (can t wait for the cookbook Simon!) and the pool is wonderful considering India is not the coolest of places.

Having never done a days yoga in my life, I headed over to India, with my Mother who had also never done yoga, she is 73!
We arrived at the center, which is in such a stunning setting...
We had signed up for a 10 day retreat, the anxiety I had over having never practiced a day of yoga was totally unfounded, we had an amazing teacher especially for those that were complete beginners, his patience was infinite!
We did Asana practice in the morning and afternoon, this was optional, I never missed, since I was quite hooked after the first one.
There were plenty of outings and excursions laid out for us (all optional) which were a great way to see the sights without ever having to lift a finger.
The rest of the group was from all over the world, some wonderful friendships were made.
I am so happy this all took place in Mandrem, the village and the beaches were the cleanest I have seen in all my time in India.
My pre conceptions of India were totally unfounded, this is somewhere I will return to time and time again... what I take away is the gift of yoga, that will stay with me for ever.

It s been just a little over a year since I completed my 200hr YTT with Himalaya Yoga Valley. I know I felt this way at the end of my course, and still feel it so strongly now: Truly one of the best decisions in my life and life-changing-ly so.
The 200-hr YTT is not an easy task, you are not joining a retreat. HYV put in a LOT of effort into making sure the training is as comprehensive as it possibly can be in the course of 4-weeks and you get more familiar with all aspects of yoga, not just asana. Having said that, the asana deconstruction classes are brilliant, the anatomy classes expand what you know of asana and allow you to put it together in a new way. The daily meditation classes are to take home and my biggest secret is that actually, I do like chanting and it makes me feel good every time I practice. Also, Viriam is probably the best person to share yogic philosophy and history with you.
The on-site restaurant is great and tasty, and plenty of gluten free options for me.
Thanks to everyone on the team, for their patience and for their love of yoga. I m sure I ll be back for the 300-hr YTT soon too.

I completed my 200 hr YTT with Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa in early 2016. It was an amazing experience which gave me life long friends, a better understanding of myself and a firm footing in my yoga journey - and the food was delicious! I hope to return next year to complete another of their workshops if possible.

II had such an amazing time. I always felt that the teaching staff had time to offer advice and support individually. The outlines of the course were well presented in time for preparation. Yoga is for every one! Feedback was given promptly and the whole atmosphere was one of positivity. I can t wait to go there again.

I first time met Yogacharya Lalit in Australia 2 years ago during his tour, I knew then I had to visit his Centre in Goa.
Lalit is a world class teacher, who is highly approachable with a great sense of humour.
I just attended a Yoga Retreat at Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre Goa and I'm already planning to come back to do my 500hr teacher training.
The facilities are very comfortable with really friendly staff in a clean, safe and secure environment. The restaurant offers a tasty and healthy vegetarian menu curated by head chef, Simon.
The Centre is a brief 10 minute walk into the quiet sunset town of Mandrem Beach, you will quickly make friends with the locals and restaurants.

I've graduated the RYS 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in December. It was one of the best experience of my life! So much good vibes, emotions and knowledge! I've arrived stressed and tired by the long travel and with one thousand questions. The stress and fatigue have quickly evaporated thanks to the peace and the amazing energy created by Lalit and his team which were fantastically welcoming and a lot of questions have been addressed and many more have popped up. The teachings had a very high standard and a holistic approach that had the ambition to cover the immense universe which is Yoga. Great design of the curriculum (Asana, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, ethic, management, ayurveda) that smoothly leads to the final group teaching! Great work! The amount of knowledge shared during the training is impressive and there is a strong synergy between the different lectures. The center is a perfect environment with great accommodation, delicious food and a friendly staff very professional, that allows all students the possibility to only focus on Yoga. I'll finish with the location! What a location! Goa, the sun, the heat, the ocean, the beach, the coconuts, the jungle...what else? I completed my 200 and 500 hour teacher trainings with Himalaya Yoga Valley. I couldn't rate their teacher trainings more highly. Their programme is incredibly comprehensive and well put together. It covers many aspects of yoga including meditation , pranayama, philopsophy, asana, anatomy, adjustments and much much more. This preprared me so well to go out and teach following completion of the course. The training team is led my Lalit who has such a wealth of knowledge and experiance to share. Without a doubt my month long teacher training at the Himalayan Yoga Valley was one of the best experiences of my life. The teachers are amazing. I came away with so much knowledge and the confidence to start teaching. The shala you train in is beautiful and the accommodation is really nice, which makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this teacher training to anyone!

I have just completed my 200hr yoga teacher training in Goa - the course was fantastic, very well structured and held true to Indian traditional, authentic yoga but delivered in a context that can be understood and appreciated by Westerners. The yoga centre is lovely, nice neat accomodation and Manderim Beach is a great location, very relaxed and safe.
Highly recommend this course however - be prepared for hard work, come emotionally prepared with an open mind and respect the culture and rules set out by the teachers which are designed to optimise your experience.

Best Yoga Teacher Training Immersion in India

I did my 200 hour teacher training and a 50 hour intensive immersion with Himalaya Yoga Valley. The staff are incredible!! Lalit is an excellent teacher who understands the tradition and discipline of yoga, while also making it really accessible, and fun. He can read the class and understand exactly what you as a student need that day! I learned so much at my 200 hour, and it really became apparent when I started teaching at studios how valuable my 200 hour experience was. Also, the food is incredible! I wish I could eat their food every day at home. This is like my home away from home. I love the Goa retreat center, and consider Lalit and all the amazing staff friends. I couldn't recommend it enough!
