Brother stayed here as getting married locally. Ordered flowers to the room for the bride pre-ceremony, informed the front desk flowers were ordered to arrive to their room. Front desk received the flowers and didn't send them up to the room ("Oh, we didn't know who they were for so we just put them on the front desk") despite being told previously they were ordered and the flowers arriving in Bride's name which was on the booking.

Groom spoke to them and asked if the wedding guests could come for a drink post-ceremony - he was told yes. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted nicely in the lobby by reception staff who had no idea why we were there. We were then left stood in the lobby (just under 20 of us) for 20 minutes, pretty much ignored. No information was given to us, we weren't asked to wait or told that they were looking into it. It wasn't until a member of the party asked for customer services email address to put in a complaint that there was a sudden flurry of activity and we were then seated.

Our initial drink order arrived wrong - only one drink no ice instead of the two drinks with ice ordered despite two on the reciept that was delivered with the drinks.

All in all a rather disappointing experience considering this is a Hilton and I absolutely woild not recommend anyone stay here. The service was appauling when I stayed the night before my wedding a few years back and it hasnt improved at all. Spend your money anywhere else in York, you'll get far better service.

Great place to stay, the bar is a little expensive, but I suppose hotel bars are, staff are well presented, reception staff are spot on, bar staff are brilliant.

We had food on our last night, it was exceptional very impressed the calamari starter was first class, the sliders perfectly served and cooked.

They have a barman in the bar next door Marco, top bloke always has a smile and very knowledgeable about his drinks would stay there again 100%.

This place is really nice and it is in a convenient. The staff is quiet friendly and super helpful. There is a gym on location and it is only one person allowed at a time. You need to schedule your time. Breakfast was allowed with my room, the food was good. For the most part you can get your food; juice, water, fruit and yogurt pots. The main breakfast and tea will be served at your table.

Room was clean with welcoming snacks and towel animals. Bed was comfortable as well as pillows and quilt. Reception s upgrade of our room with direct view to the Clifford s Tower was sweet. A modern Sport center was there to give some time exercising. Restaurant was large too. I actually preferred shower curtain instead of half covered glass partition in the bath room. Came with variety of teas and snacks is good hospitality

Great location, pleased with reception and housekeeping, but, we have to keep asked reception for more toiletries, like toilet paper/shower cap/shower gel/shampoo etc, room is comfortable but no fridge available. Only downside was the 'buffet breakfast', limited items due to pandemic, not really buffet style, also, one of the employee do not understand English that well, I asked sweetener for my coffee, she gave me yoghurt, when I ask 'is any waffle or pancake available', she look at me blank, show me the pastry instead, hopefully in future, Hilton enable to train staff a bit of understand what they serve, overall it's above average but 'buffet breakfast' let it down, I would like to give 3.5 stars for this hotel after I have been few different Hilton hotels visited.

Lovely afternoon tea here. Sandwiches tasty and varied, cakes plentiful and tasty. The warm scones are probably the best scones I have had. Tea plentiful, piping hot and very palatable.
Venue is modern, clean with helpful happy staff. Would recommend.

Food isn't bad (but there's a huge waiting time), friendly staff, and well located in the touristy heart of York. The hotel room itself isn't impressive. Extremely small rooms (we had a family room). It felt claustrophobic, not enough room to move around. Only one window that opened only so much. This meant, it was incredibly hot in the room day and night and dark so you always had to have the light on. No air conditioning. No fridge. Bath had no shower curtains or anything to stop water pouring on the floor. The tap at the sink was positioned wrong so water got all over the sink counter and ran onto the bathroom floor.

Worthy of note is that it has a great view of and is directly opposite the mountain on the mound, there's free WiFi and valet parking. It does serve its purpose if you're a tourist looking for a convenient place to stay.
