This place is very well located and in the heart of the city. Easy access from many places. Good visibility from the street. Parking services are ok. Valet options are available, but certainly pricey. Easy access from many places. Good visibility from the street. Menu is diverse, but there are good opportunities for variable diets. Food is average. Executive lounge is limited and average. Rooms are average. Bedding for Hilton is below average.

With well-appointed, contemporary rooms, this updated hotel is sometimes referred to as the Hinckley Hilton. It finished a $150 million renovation in 2010 and is also home to the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. And, smack dab in Dupont Circle making it easy hop from Reagan Airport (coincidence?) on the Metro with a quick hike up Connecticut Avenue.

Restaurants, Washington Sports Club, a CVS and other various and sundry places line your walk - so you're not far from anything at all.

The exterior looks like it is from 1965 but don't let that dissuade you. Rooms are small and try to get on the 10th floor so you can enjoy the fruits of the Lounge and escape small rooms. But, you're not in D.C. to stay in your hotel room, so you'll be just fine.

The hotel staff are wonderful and very service oriented. Furthermore, the hotel has great facilities for hosting large scale conferences . The sapce is massive, so it can take a few minutes to walk around from your room to the conference areas. The only dissapointment is that the walls are so very thin here, so you hear everything in the adjoining rooms.

Check in was smooth and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Housekeeping wasn't intrusive and cleaned my room even after I left late in the afternoon. The accommodations were very comfortable and the location is very centrally located - everything is very walkable.

Loved my stay even if it was to just eat and sleep overnight for a meeting. The restaurant was accommodating with room service since I arrived late after flight delays and the room was upgraded and comfortable. All a business traveler needs...a good meal, comfy bed and room and service.

Extremely unimpressed. I bought a room for my parents when they came to visit. Though there were many empty rooms, they placed them a very long walk from any convenient elevator. The room was nice, but small for the cost. The pool was a zoo, and badly advertised - because pictures make it look like it is on the roof, but it is not. It took forever to get help from attendants, and they charged a lot of a shuttle to Reagan, which is not far. I've called in multiple times to get a copy of a receipt and I get a line that rings for ever, people who don't even listen to me before transferring me back to a voicemail, people who do not speak or understand English well, and people who are generally not helpful. Any requests for receipts have to be done by fax, but you can't even get through to a person to know if they received it. Not up to the par I expect from Hilton or other big name hotels in the city.

Clean, cozy, and the staff are great. The rooms are comfortable though dated, and with tiny pillows. The major downsides are the Hilton policies that up-charge on everything. Want to check in a little early? That will be $25. Want to eat eggs from the breakfast buffet you pre-paid for? That will be an EXTRA $6.50 per day, per person, because the breakfast charge you pre-pay with your room does not include eggs. Pre-paid for a late checkout? It is not guaranteed. I had all of these policies told to me during my stay.
The hotel staff are unfortunately constrained by Hilton s policies, but they are otherwise able to do a great job. Location near the du-pont metro is great and the pool and gym facilities are well kept. 5-stars for the staff and facilities, 4-stars for the comfy rooms despite their age and deflating pillows, 1 stars for poor Hilton policies that need to be re-thought. I offer these insights to help the hotel become better, and hope I don t get a generic thank you message for this review from the hotel manager that does not lead to action. Really, Hilton, put the customer first and they will come back.

Overall the stay was average. Expected more but really got less quality then a holiday inn express. The reason I compared it less then average is because they were charging for every little single item they could. It makes me wonder if this hotel is going under.

What I liked about the hotel:

1. The staff was friendly and did accomodate at times for things that I needed or inquired about.

2. Location of this hotel was within walking distance from resteraunts and activities.

3. They had a fullsize gym and pool.

4. They had three different resteraunts inside available.

5. Hotel staff accommodated water at night when it was most needed.

6. Room was clean and ready.

What I Disliked:

1. Coffee shop inside the hotel charged $4.95 for a large cup of coffee that did not compare to starbucks at $2.71. Be prepared to pay double or triple the cost for everything inside. Lets call it a convenience fee.

2. Parking was $52 a night and valet service was $62. I understand for valet and potential external parking but charging your guest a fee to utilize a parking garage for the place they are staying doesnt make sense. Even with that most other 5 star hotels maximum cost to use parking garage averages between $15-$25 a day.

3. Gym and Pool Hours are from 5am-10pm. My preference is to work out late and this did effect my work out schedule. Most other hotel that have gyms are open 24 hours a day.

4. Unless your an honored guest they charge daily for internet. This is the first time I have encountered where internet is not part of the room.

5. There was no complimentary coffee offered from the hotel. I would expect for a 4 star hotel located in the heart of DC to serve complimentary coffee. However, they did have a convenient coffee shop that charges double to triple the cost for what a normal coffee cost at starbucks. Additionally, there is a cuisinart small coffeemaker in the room. I Recommend anyone whos stays to take the walk down the block and get a starbucks. Coffee taste better there and its cheaper.

6. Parking is not clearly displayed when you get there. It was confusing trying to check in. I tried checking in the front but valet person redirected me to park in the parking garage and take the elevator up to the lobby to check in. To me I should be welcomed to a hotel and be able to check in first before I park. Little odd but overall figured it out. Parking garage is located at the back of the hotel.

7. Room was extremly small. Is not worth the cost per night.

Overall hotel was less then what I expected and I will not return to this location in the future.

Good pool, good gym, good bed - really all you need from a hotel. Breakfast has plenty of options and is reasonably quick. Helpful staff but do ask if you want a room near the elevator as it can be a bit of a hike!

It was in construction the last time I was there that removed the lobby bar and what not but otherwise it's a really lovely hotel. They were very accommodating to the conference and the venue was the perfect size for it.

The hotel is very nice, close to retaurants and the international embassies. Rooms are small but that is to be expected in the area. The staff in the hotel are very nice but front desk and especially the executive lounge need some service lessons.

The hotel had a nice lobby with a lot of seating space and a restaurant. We didn't take advantage of the restaurant while there but it is convenient if you don't feel like going out. The room was nice but there was evidence of the last guest's food left in the room and surfaces didn't seem completely cleaned. Despite that, the stay was overall satisfactory.

Good facilities and value for the area. Be prepared for smaller rooms than is typical. Pool and work out room is great but sometimes pool is quite crowded. Best thing are the showers and large thirsty towels provided at workout area. Mind you, it is a long walk to get to the workout area so it ads to calories burned.

Very nice older (though well-kept) Hilton. On the National Registry of Historic Places due to past presidential visits (100+) and assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan. Interesting design and huge ballroom below ground.

The professional conference was very nice. The meeting rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Staying overnight was a mistake. The room was very noisy, the beds uncomfortable and the climate control erratic. The hotel did compensate us 50% to make up for the terrible stay which was a very nice gesture but we would have rather enjoyed a good nights sleep instead of barely sleeping. Staff at all parts of the hotel were very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean.

Nicely outfitted rooms, clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Mediocre room service fare, few and unreliable elevators, conference areas are a maze with poor signage. The important things are done right, but there's room for improvement elsewhere.

but this one is getting pretty close. I had to remind the check-in agent of my Honor's account, the place is all torn up, the soda machines-if you can find one-are $2.50, and internet is $12+. If the profit hangs on these add-on charges, they are cutting the margin a little close. Feel like I was screwed but not kissed. Positives--the Hilton room/beds are great.

Anyway old. There is no sense of disappointing feeling when I imagine Hilton. The condition of the air conditioning is extreme, and when it's cold it gets cold and when it's gone it gets hot and hot. Below a common 3 star hotel. Because it was Washington DC, I had no choice but to accept it. There were two staff who could speak Japanese.
