I tested their mobile app for check-in and got stuck in a smoking room, which was very unpleasant for me; had I checked in at the desk they may have been able to get me a non smoking room. I tried to switch, but it took a couple days before they could swap rooms for me.
The non smoking room was decent and meals I had there were good. I'm TBD on whether I'd go back still.
Room was clean and smelled fresh. But what made this stay great was the bartender Dave. If only every bar had a guy like him. Beyond friendly. And wanted to make sure you had a great experience. I would stay there again just to have that experience again.
We were on the 14th floor and the view was awesome, I tried the m&m Cafe and the fries were very good.
Location is nice. Other rooms were very loud. It could use better insulation and noise reduction technology.
Great front desk staff. Rooms are just too tired and old for a great review. Good view from 17th floor. Experience at restaurant was average. Got the ribs special which looked great but were just OK.
The staff was top notch. They were very friendly and accommodating. This made up for the fact that the hotel could use some upgrades. The shower curtain in the bathroom was broken, only half of the snaps that keep the liner attached to the shower curtain were intact. The chair arms were visibly dirty. I wasn't able to connect to the free wifi and the elevators were very slow WHEN and IF they were working at all. The location was great, walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping. This business trip was covered by my company. If I had to pay for this stay out of my own pocket, I'd probably give it 3.5 stars.
There is a featured rewards program there that offers you discounts on your booking and on some hotel amenities that are available if you are a "member". Be sure to inquire as you book or when you check in. This membership could mean the difference in paying$15 or $5 for a buffet breakfast and premium Wi-Fi.
This is the worst hotel I ve stayed at. Here s the list of everything that went wrong:
- there s a cockroach in the bathroom!
- internet didnt work. I had to call at&t service line. They told me i had to call front desk because the like appeared to be decommissioned?? Told me i had to call front desk. Front desk was apparently busy all night and i could never got a hold them.
- asked for a plate and some forks, was told to come down to the kitchen and get them myself.
- one of our beds was completely missing the sheets and the duvet.
- no shuttle to and from the airport
- no circulating fan in the bathroom

Good staff. Easy to get to. Have to pay $7/night for internet faster than 3-5 mbps. There was a key glitch but it was fixed promptly. One of the staff named Judy graciously helped me find my room--much appreciated.
1 hour after checking in, we noticed that there were dirty wet towels and pubic hair all over the bathroom. The staff said they could only send up new towels! We wanted a new room or housekeeping (gone for the weekend). They said they didn't have any extra rooms even though I found open rooms on multiple booking websites. Rude and unaccommodating service. Terrible housekeeping. Additionally, they made it sound like it was our fault for not inspecting the entire room and bathroom as soon as we walked in. Weird and RUDE. Do not recommend -- head to the Goodwin if you can spend a little more. It's beautiful, friendly, and clean.

An older but nice Hilton in a good location for any business meetings in Hartford. The staff were very friendly and they have a very cleared marked Quiet Floor . Element 315 was somewhat disappointing in size and variety. It s a much sparser and small space than images would lead you to believe.

The rooms are very nice, as you would expect from a Hilton. The employees are great. However, much like every Hilton I've ever stayed the Hilton nickel and dimes you for everything. Parking, even for guests is an additional 20 a night and internet is different speeds for different price brackets. Hilton is my least favorite high end chain. Not worth the money.

The reception services is nice and corporative, will deliver excellent customer service. By the way when I stay in different hotel, to set up VPN I will had hard time, in here they make me easy. They will give you VPN details to set up if u interested.

What happened to the Hilton name? When I book at the Hilton I expect a hotel that is clean, updated, modern and with very good amenities. This hotel charges Hilton prices, but is old, severely in need of updating both inside and outside of rooms and just simply not up to the quality one expects for a hotel in this price range. My room was furnished like a Motel 6 room. The furniture was old, the carpets, wall and bathrooms were beat up. There was a hair in my bed (not mine), a rip in the chair and a massive cockroach in men's locker room. Overall this place is not bad, but for almost 400 dollars a night on a Tuesday in November in Hartford I expect more. You could stay at any B level place for half the money and get the same. The gym was decent size for a hotel as was pool. Good location downtown. Staff was friendly. Parking on site is a plus.
Attended the Shatterproof Fundraising Repel. Lobby was clean with many comfortable chairs. They were also accommodation with refreshments outside.
The food here is great and the bar has an amazing selection!

The meeting room was good, but they had some problems with the AC. The pipes in the walls make rumble when the shower is on.

I came during a horrible blizzard. Some idiot set off the fire alarm I had to evacuate down 11 flights of stairs outside into the blizzard. Then when I got back to my room there was a letter stating they were limited in turn down service due to the weather. Can't really blame them but it was not the best stay I've ever had.
I can not say enough good things about this hotel from the staff to the room comfort. We had a fantastic breakfest on Christmas day with a group of people. Great food and very friendly staff.The hotel and its staff gets a 10
Nice rooms and ambience. Breakfast is also good and depending on your booking type you also get complimentary evening snacks (on one Friday they served delicious chicken wings ). Their bistro downstairs also serve delicious food - especially liked the salmon, wings and pasta.

Stayed here for five days in April. The location was great. Staff was ok. Maintenance crew was very loud at all hours of the night and early morning. Not sure if I would choose to stay here again.

There is no proper restaurant, the food is reheated in toaster ovens at the bar and a self service food mart. Disgusting food, not Hilton worthy. Beds are old and lumpy, rooms are dated and musty. STAY At THE NEW MARRIOTT instead! Management clearly does not care. I related these issues to hotel mgmt who just responded by email with the usual platitudes. I travel monthly and this is the WORST flagship Hilton I have ever seen. Hotel remains in business because of corporate clients that are forced by their companies to stay at this dump.
Great, clean, beautiful rooms. The service at the restaurant is sub par but the food is pretty good. House keeping staff is very friendly.
It's just a moderate hilton, advantage is its within the city and restaurants are walkable distance.

Personally I wouldn't stay anywhere else in downtown Hartford. It's close to everything, multiple restaurants and the XL center next door. Shuttle will take you just about anywhere upon request. Staff is very friendly, polite, caring and helpful. Attentive, always smiling, knows each guest by name and addresses them appropriately. The rooms are clean, bedding is comfortable and linens are crisp. Management is wonderful!
If there was one piece of constructive feedback to communicate, I would say I wish they hadn't changed the menu in the restaurant. Healthy options were replaced by carbs and fried items. I'm finding myself eating out in town now instead of staying in the hotel. I would challenge them to bring more healthy options to the menu across the board.

Good location within walking distance to many downtown bars and restaurants. About a 10 minute walk from Bushnell Park. Paid parking is available onsite. There is a 24 hour front desk and staff are helpful. Older hotel and it shows - there was mold growing in the shower.
Nice hotel directly in Downtown Hartford. Airport is not.too far.away. Many bars and restaurants are.within walking distance. Both restaurants and the bar here are nice.

The staff were great. The location is excellent and the property in general is great. The rooms are sub-standard for the price.
Pool is tiny and likely full of kids, but other than that it's a regular Hilton experience.
So, I just want to start this review by stating two pertinent facts; This incident that compels me to write this review took place in 2015. Only a couple particular members were involved.
Me and my friend were on our way back to our room. We saw a guy on the ground with hand cuffs on and police and hotel security. We were not allowed back in our room even though we had nothing to do with what was happening. We were also threatened with arrest when my friend started to film the incident (in CT you have every right to film in situations like this). I can't hold that against the hotel, but it was hotel staff that pressured us into leaving; not allowing us back in our room (we had no place to go but the bar). Then after all that happened the bar tender gave some unwarranted attitude.
The staff was very friendly and eager to help me. The restaurant was very tasty

Worst. Hilton. Ever. I've had better accommodations at Holiday Inn. The rooms are small and out dated. The bathrooms are worse. For the price and the name I expected a much nicer hotel and I was thoroughly let down. The only reason they got one star is because the lobby was great. Couches to hang out on and nooks to get business done. Other than that this was the worst stay I've ever had at a Hilton. The Best Western was far nicer.
Bar was very clean and nice. Bartenders were very courteous and the atmosphere was relaxing
