I have been continually impressed with Hilger Hammond over the years. One of my first experiences with these attorneys was at a West Michigan Construction Industry Forum meeting where I listened as Atty Hilger presented a Construction Lien Road Map course. It was highly informative and I still reference materials from that course regularly. I have also worked with HH at least three times in debt collection, some situations were quite complicated. Atty Hammond has always guided us through the process professionally. In our last experience, Atty Hammond was able to collect when I really thought he would not be able to. We also rely upon his advice as various legal issues arise in our day-to-day business. I highly recommend this firm, especially for anyone working in construction. A good attorney is worth their weight in gold.

I have had the pleasure of working with Ben Hammond and Steve Hilger for many years and would recommend them without hesitation. They are professional, fair, and always represent myself and my construction company with class.

Started out as a good thing. They helped our company with collecting a debt, they sent a final invoice about a week after the services were rendered which were deducted from our retainer. At that point everything was finalized and they sent a statement showing we still had a positive retainer balance. The next month we were sent a statement showing the retainer balance and it showed our retainer balance was gone and a balance we were owing of over $700. The new invoice showed the same services already paid for using the retainer plus additional fees that were unmentioned when this was finalized. Unfortunately this firm takes advantage of the client after the retainer is gone and they send additional bills for services they never rendered. We sent the firm an email a few months ago asking for an explanation as to what we were being double billed for and was told they would look into it and get back with us. We still have not heard back, BUT we did receive another falsified invoice
