Gross negligence in the handling of my nephews incident on 4/5. Person was allowed to assault my nephew in front of HP police with no consequences. HPPD will be held accountable. Up until now I have never had problems with this police department and I have lived in High Point all of my life. Extremely disappointed because I have always believed our police department had a good relationship with our community, this is now not the case. I experienced it first hand and have seen this with my own eyes by seeing the video and so have they. Sad!... they do a lot of covering up (Robert Tipton) for the HPU president and family members, which is one of the ones that assaulted and stabbed my nephew.

High point police no good! They are very prejudice! The older white one's are stuck in there ways! Not trained properly to listen to the right side of the story! They assume there on theory's whether it's right or wrong!!

If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Horrible, horrible experiences with the High Point Police Department in every encounter. Recently was involved in a minor auto incident at the Sheetz on Old Plank and the officer that responded to the scene was very condescending to me and patronizing. He kept referring to me as "Young Miss" and my friend as "Emotional Support" when I made it clear that I had a panic disorder and that it was the reason for me crying. When I requested that the security footage be viewed, he questioned me in an accusational manner and talked down to me as if I did not know what I was talking about. Later, my insurance company requested the video, and the officer refused to oblige. If I took the time to even remember the officer's name, I would list it, but I did everything in my power to erase that experience from my memory. I hope to never have to deal with him, or this department again.

5 stars for Ankney and the older former attorney from Alabama cop.
So a 3 star average for now.

0 stars for government in the first place.

Thank you so very much for checking on my sister. I live in Pennsylvania. My mom, sister, and I were worried that she may have been in danger because of the tropical storm flooding. My family truly appreciates all your attention to my sister's safety.

One of the best law enforcement agencies around. The officers are highly professional and trained. The command staff and city staff are great leaders to officers who support the continued education and training so High Point has the best officers patrolling. People may criticize officers for doing their job; however, when something goes wrong, HPPD is who I want answering the call.

Very good police department. I have not experienced any discrimination here or anything as I am a muslim. I believe the reviews saying any discrimination are false. As for the response times... that is bound to happen due to it being a public service.. If you order a pizza and you get it at 10:30 one day and then the next time it comes at 10:51... you don't complain... the PD prioritizes calls.. Not all of your calls are important. I was in the 911 center and I listened to some of the calls LIVE on a tour.. "kids jumping on a cars hood" or "somebody is trying to sell me some books"...

Sad! If you live in a bad neighborhood then your first thought should be to own a gun... if you don't... then you don't have common sense.. sorry.

They are pretty rude here. Growing up I remember police would TALK to kids about the good part of behaving. Explain to kids how police help people, explain what the police do, etc. I took my niece for this great experience I had back at home (NYC, Bronx). They would show you around, talk to the kids and make it fun so they re not afraid. Well, this was not the case for me. The officer at the front desk told me I should be able to handle my child and he would not send anyone out there. He had asked if she was in trouble and I stated yes. That was it. He asked no further questions but stated he would
Not send anyone out to scare the child. I informed him this is not to scare her because she is already afraid but to show her how the police are here to help and how they show children the good. He jumped to assume I was a bad parent. Told me I should be able to handle it myself. It was never about handling her, but helping her grow and understand life. Kids are kids and they are very curious. This was simply sharing a FUN experience I once had. I also had to remember this was 20 years ago. Today I can t speak much for the police. Absolutely horrible customer service as well. He stated he wasn t sending anyone to scare her just makes me think what have y all been doing in the past for that to be the FIRST statement to a parent.
