I just want to share my experience with this company. I booked a trip for, well today, my 40th birthday. My husband has very unexpectedly been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer terminal. I absent mindedly kept forgetting to call & cancel. Finally on Thursday, 2 DAYsbefore my reservation i remember to call and request to postpone my trip. I didn't really expect any special treatment but let me just tell you the manager did just that. She said she was sorry to hear about my husband wished my family well and recovery for my husband. That is a truly kind hearted person. She said i COULD postpone my (dream) trip! Im writing this as the tears of gratitude flow, i cannot tell you it was an amazing trip, yet. I can tell you that this is an AMAZING company with amazing staff! I will recommend this company to anyone. Thank you so much high country adventures for being so freaking awesome & flexible! I appreciate you!

Awesome time! My daughter s first time. She was a bit scared but not afterwards. Definitely got wet. Did things that I hadn t done before while white water rafting in Colorado such as surfing and spinning. Our guide, Tristen, was an expert!

The sunset cruise was nothing as advertised. I took my parents thinking it would be a easy ride for them. They ask that you show up half an hour early but they didn't show up to come get us until 6:30. The tour was supposed to start at 6. When I went to asking if anyone was coming to get us they were very friendly but seemed that they didn't even have us down for the tour that I called a day in advance to reserve. The relaxing tour turned into us having to carry our kayaks down to the water. They forgot life vests. The guide told us she had never even been kayaking on this river. They were teaching each other how to paddle. The guide asked me where I would like to go. I'm from Florida I have no idea. I thought I was going on a 4 hr kayaking sunset tour that only turned out to be 2hr after we finally got down there, and didn't get to see the sunset at all. This trip was not enjoyable. The guides were very friendly and helpful but didn't know where they were going or doing. It was stressful.

I just want to give a shout to my tour guide Cody. He was awesome, funny, and well instructing. He made sure we got through every tough rapid we encountered. This whitewater rafting experience was definitely different from the one I did prior to this experience.

Had a great time but they pack you on the buses. Not enough seats for everyone and half the seats had no cushion, you were sitting on metal part of the seat. Guides were great though.

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT. Book with High Country Adventures and have a high class experience! I went this past weekend with a group of six. It was a BLAST. Our guide Jerry kept us safe, and laughing the whole way down the river. It may be class three rapids, but I had a class five experience!

Stayed here while visiting family on our Rving trip. It was at the very end of the season. Very pretty area. Looks like it is very popular in the summer. Our dogs loved going for walks here.

This is our 2nd year coming to High Country as part of our summer plan and it was awesome again. We had a newer guide, Jerome, but he made it lots of fun for us returning and a few new people in our group. We will continue to visit High Country bc they haven't let us down yet! A great time was had by all!

Me and my company went for a Team Building and we had a ball. Our Rafter person was Sunshine and he was awesome as well. I would definitely go back and do it again.

This is the first time I used this company. I have been down the river several times, but this was the most disappointing time. Our guide, by his own admission, was a "rookie", who ruined the experience for all of us. He was able to get us stuck on rocks at least 6 times and we almost landed on another raft while descending the rapids. You might have a better experience if you are lucky enough to have a more seasoned guide assigned to you, but I will look somewhere else for my next trip on the Ocoee.

The flyer was right....."We know how to wet your pants"..... Shirt, hat and shoes. Thanks "Travis" most awesomest guide over the top. Had a "Flipping" good time. Can't say enough about all the staff. Would go back everyday if I could.

Our family group of 16 split into 3 rafts and had a BLAST! Our guides were Gavin (looks like Ed Sheeran), Dave (caveman) and Sunshine. These guys were super professional and made our trip down the river awesome! We will definitely be back.

Started off rocky bc of some raft guide complaining about how his 2 comps didn't get to go bc my group (who paid to go) showed up. We had a flat on the way & weren't sure if we would make it on time but when we did he made a huge deal out of it, even spitting in my direction with an angry look causing our group to feel very unwelcome which is why it got 3stars. After that our bomba** guide John H. made up for it by being a super cool guide & made sure we had a great time! He was really nice & funny as hell, but at the same time can be serious when it comes to his groups safety!! Steer clear of the unstable guide in the blue helmet! Seems like he's got some serious issues with his attitude...Quick to get angry!!

They provided a knowledgeable guide that did her job well

Super Fun! We lucked out with our guide, "Peter". He was entertaining as well as super efficient at as his job! I will go to the Ocoee again, and I will be using HCA! I highly recommend this trip, it was a blast for my family. Time and money well spent.

Great white water rafting trip. Our guide was Sarah who was super excited and gave us an awesome ride, doing things the other tour guides didn't do. You definitely get soaked on this boat, and you may fall out but that's all part of the fun. The tour guides, or at least Sarah will tone the trip to you so if you want less or more excitement just say something and they will make it happen. Would definitely be back .

Outstanding experience! Big Mike was our instructor and couldn t have done a better job. She knows a lot of history on the river and really gives you an experience that is more than you could ask for. We will definitely be coming back!

this company is top notch! i would recommend this company over all of the others i have gone with. this trip was my 18th down the river and i will keep on using High Country till they close. our Guide Lauren was awesome and will definitely be someone we request next year when we come up.

The best guides I've ever experienced. Not just their ability. These guides contribute significantly to the overall experience...what would be a rather boring shuttle ride, was instead full of laughter and a few impressive NASCAR moments....dude drove that bus like a boss!

We really enjoyed rafting with this company! We usually use a different company, but decided to go with High Country Adventures instead, and are so glad we did! Their location is absolutely beautiful, the bus drivers don't text while driving, and the check-in clerk was so nice! We enjoyed this place more than our other one and will definitely be returning!

It was my first time to go white water rafting. I was so nervous/stressed that I was going to be the one who falls out. But with the proper training instructions from Big Mike we were the best crew out on there as she says but that could have been one of the three lies she tells. Needless to say when you visit I would highly recommended Micah aka Big Mike. She is such a badass that she has it tatted. Sorry not sorry for any Mikes on the raft. She will own your name that your momma gave you.

It was my husband's and my first time rafting. A beautiful early fall day. We did the three-hour adventure with guide Todd, who is also a firefighter.

The place was easy to find, and the employees were friendly and informative. They made sure we knew what to do in the water before we went in.

Todd warned us before all the crazy rapids, so we were prepared. No one came out of our boat! The river has between Class 3-5 rapids which seems intimidating but wasn't too frightening. We even got a chance to swim in the river in a calm stretch.

When we got back to the building after the trip, he team directed us to where they sanitized all the paddles, helmets and life jackets. It was organized and well run.

All in all, an excellent experience, if you've never done it, try it with these guys! You'll be hooked like I was!

We had Dave as our guide and he was excellent! His instruction and guidance was superb. I would definitely go again. We went in July and I would highly recommend sunblock and bottled water for your trip. We got soaked so a swimsuit is needed. A change of clothes is a good idea and towels. We were unprepared and drove home wet (this was our own fault) they recommend you don't bring any belongings with you they could fall off or you could lose them. No jewelry, watches, hats, wallet, keys. Water shoes are the best option I wore crocs that are strapped around my heal. There's an opportunity to get out and swim so clothing and shoes come in to play at that time. Have fun and enjoy your time.

Nugget was our guide she was fantastic. There is no social distancing and their equipment and bus needs to be better sanitized

My friends and I had so much fun! We had nugget and she is our favorite!!!! We've been a total of 5 times and loved it each time!

Ugh our time with High Country Adventures was AWFUL. We arrived at 2:30 for a 3 o'clock trip but our guides didn't come get us until 4. They rushed through our safety training because we were sitting OUTSIDE during a pop up thunderstorm with high winds and branches breaking all around us, they yelled for us to get our gear and get on the bus. My group, including myself were newbies to rafting, and some of us were having trouble getting our life jackets to fit properly. Did they care? Nope, they continued to yell at us, we asked one guide if we could wait 5 minutes for the pop up shower to go by, his response "It's just rain, you are going to get wet anyways, we will leave without you if you don't get on the bus" So with that rude remark we told them to leave. Very unfriendly staff and VERY unsafe. Thank goodness another rafting company had availability the next day, come to find out what took High Country so long the day before was because of a raft mishap.

My family had an awesome time & we are now hooked. Our guide (Bootleg) was very informative & ensured we knew exactly what to expect from start to finish. We will definitely be regulars @ High Country & we will request Bootleg everytime. A five star experience from start to finish.

We had "Potter" as our guide!!! Had the best time EVER!! Been down the river several times; he was by Far the BEST GUIDE YET!!! I would HIGHLY recommend HIM/"POTTER". FUN, KNOWLEDGE-ABLE, TALL; HAS A GREAT BEARD.. BUT MOST OF ALL; LOVES YOU TO TURN OUT TO YOUR LEFT!!

The Groupon price for our group of 6 was very reasonable and our time on the river was great. We also had a very knowledgeable and disciplined guide and that made the experience that much better. The only thing that I had a problem with was the scheduling process, as it was very difficult to get in touch with someone.

This was the best white water rafting I ve ever done. Our guide was Big Mike and she was super fun, energetic, professional and knowledgeable. We found a GREAT price on groupon... I can t believe the price we paid for that 3 hour awesome raft time. Such a steal. I definitely recommend this rafting company if you want to go white water rafting! The River was beautiful as well. 5/5 stars and 100% recommended!!

First time rafting on the Ocoee or anywhere east of the Mississippi. Would not recommend for the elderly. The guide we had advised that the waters were at an average intensity. Myself being a fairly strong 250lb man did get swept off the front of the raft but I knew what to do thanks to the direction from the guide. I have not had this much fun in a long time. Sean was my rafts guide and he did an excellent job.

Very fun, 100% recommended you ask for Baker as your guide.

High country adventures had given us the best rafting experience. Our guide Jack rice made it even better by giving us proper commands and taking care of us during the mid river rapids.
Next visit we plan to do the full river rafting which includes the class 5 1996 Olympic rapids

Bandy! Bandy! And again, Bandy!
If you ever decide to raft down the Ocoee, do it with High Country and request Bandy as your guide. That guy knows exactly what he's doing and the entire ride was very relaxing and fun. The check-in took too long, probably 30 min longer than planned but that's stuff you can't control easily as there are several groups going up and down the river and a lot of them are crazy high-school kids pumped on adrenaline.

What an excellent trip down the Ocoee River with Thaddeus a.k.a. Steven Tyler. He was a hoot! Excellent trip, excellent adventure pointing out all the various history as we white water rafted. It was one of the best experiences I've had white water rafting. We LOVED when Thaddeus dumped all six of us and he stayed dry on the raft. It's so refreshing to witness how much fun these guys and gals have at their job. It makes it a nice trip for all. When employees are happy having fun, it shows and that just oozing into the experience. We will be back for sure. Thank you so much!

Had an amazing experience on my middle Ocoee trip today. Our guide was K-2 and she was amazing! Told us lots of river facts, and kept the boat going the way it should. We had a wonderful time! Highly reccomend!

Had a ton of fun at this place. We went with a group of 6 people which I highly recommend since you will have the entire raft. Our guide was awesome and really fun to have with us. All the guides seemed that way. Also, you can buy pictures at the end which were great quality but very expensive.

I have been white water rafting several times and my High Country Adventures trip was the best by far! Quick and easy reservations and check in, neat gift shop, and clean bathrooms and dressing areas. Also, if your not sure which guide to choose, pick "Pink"!
He does a mean whale impersonation ;) , gets great air! , loves his mama and does extra to make the trip so much fun! I definitely recommend High Country Adventures!

Jennifer was the best instructor... I was terrified but had the best time!

I saw a High Country guide swing a paddle at another raft like a baseball bat. He could have done SERIOUS damage if he hit someone and he almost did. I cant imagine anyone thinking that s an acceptable way to do business. I will NEVER send anyone to this business.

Rafted the Ocoee yesterday. Our guide was skillful and fun, the facilities were clean and large enough to accommodate the number of rafters, and the administrative people were helpful. Terrific experience!
