It's an okay place to sleep. Wifi was terrible in our room and the shared kitchen as it is cleaned up by the guests, was a mess and unsanitary. It's a bit out of the city as well. Be prepared to commute.

I've been on other HI Hostels before and the service are just great. Clean, neat, nice and gently. For HI Whistler I only stoped by for coffee a couple of times. Place is quite beautiful and peaceful, coffee and food are good, prices are ok also.

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The building is well kept and the rooms are smaller at 4 guests to a room. Each room shares a bathroom with another room. Ski and bike storage room available. Great common areas as well. Ate at the cafe and got sick, but I can't be sure that was the cause.

Only about 10 minute drive to Creekside and 15 minutes to Whistler Village. 15 minutes to the village by bus which stops just outside the hostel doors and runs often.

Small bodega across the street but not much of a selection.

It's pretty average.

It's pretty average.
Room wasn't clean and dirty dishes/empty water bottles left by previous occupiers on top/in lockers. Bedding all bobbly, so I'm guessing it was either dirty or very old. Toilet had serious stains inside, but appeared clean otherwise.
Atmosphere a bit flat (maybe due to season time we stayed/guests at the time).
Kitchen average - not many utensils available and hobs need serious fixing/updating.
Staff are ok, not particularly friendly but not disagreeable either.
May be different during the snow season.

Great views. We had a private room which is massive! Large kitchen facilities and breakout social areas. All very modern and clean. The fridges as expected in most youth hostel could be cleaner but not bad.

Hostel a little out of the center of Whistler in the former Olympic Village.
The prices are correct considering the prices charged in Whistler but remain high for a single room.
Average cleanliness: the sheets had apparently been changed but were full of hair and hair ...
Not easy either to park near the hostel as many restrictions.
But smiling home, many amenities: kitchen, laundry, wifi, computers ...
Ok for one night.

This hostel is one of the best I stayed in when it comes to facilities, cleanliness, and staff. However, one major flaw ruined my whole trip and I check-out early. Beds that are made from wood which make LOUD noises even if you just flex a muscle combined with worn down mattress which you can feel the wood through prevented me from getting much sleep. As much as this hostel has really good qualities, beds absolutely ruined it for me.

Solid spot, loved the huge kitchen. People were chill, staff was super helpful, even opened the kitchen early as we were leaving before daybreak, close to many hikes, always had group planned fun things! The picture is from Lost Lake, about 15 min drive away, lots of trails and gorgeous view!

Fairly new hostel with clean and quite spacious rooms. Per 2 rooms there is 1 shower and toilet as well as 2 sinks.

Large kitchen with plenty of fires and refrigerators. Also the possibility to sit outside and enjoy the view during your meal.

There is a pool table in the lounge. Ideal to end your evening.

It is half an hour by bus to Whistler itself. The bus stop is near the hostel.

Everything is great same as other branches in Europe. Clean room, sheets and towels. Very good kitchen and heug frig. But, It is end of July and room temperature was 27C over night. AC didn't work. Sweating and suffering. Also, it was so handy if we had a small table in the room.

Great hostel with nice staff, but the location is quite far away from skiing and even more far from the village. As you should be able to see this with a look on the map before you booked your stay, no one's telling about the WiFi situation. And the WiFi just sucks - in the best case... Cause sometimes there's just no connection at all which can become extremely annoying!

Stayed for a second time. Another private room and was not disappointed. Room was clean with the bare essentials, I felt safe, good kitchen and eating area, great common areas and a convenient location. Had a rental car this time and parking was easy, I don't miss the public transit but it is steps away.

Cafe on the main floor was bustling with people, very convenient if you don't want to cook or need to grab a quick bite and drink.

But...if you stay here, please visit the convenience store across the street, the lovely Philippino Lady has everything (snacks, meals, groceries) from onions, chips, noodles, fish, frozen dim sum items, lol, everything! We bought longanisa sausages and cooked them in the kitchen, so delicious!! She's very friendly and carries some items I haven't even seen in Toronto. Yes, her store was the highlight of my stay at HI Whistler. Lol

I arrived at the hostel with a friend for a one night stay from vancoucer. I had never been to whistler before and mentioned this at check in. The guy behind the desk proceeded with being extremely rude as we asked about where we could put our luggage as we were early for check in. He constantly rolled his eyes whenever he had to scan his card to open the door for us to the luggage room.
We asked about what we should do for the day etc and he gave us no information and said we ll it depends what you want to do and didn t help us at all . Didn t tell us even how to get down to the village (what bus to get or anything) so so unprofessional and unhelpful.

This service continued throughout our incounters. The next morning we wanted to grab a coffee at desk and the girl working had her two friends with her who were sitting down and taking about how hungover and drunk they were the night before. Without saying hello or anything when we asked for our coffees she continued her conversation about the night before with her friends ignoring us until it came to taking payment.

We were extremely unhappy with our stay, we have travelled the world and stayed in much less astectically pleasing places but the service always outwayed the cons. In this case I couldn t be any more disappointed .

The staff was very good. We stayed in a private room. The room was minimalist, which is expected from a hostel, but clean. There was even a tv, which we did not expect, and a playground just out the back door. My only complaint is that the cafe had only a single employee during the breakfast rush, which made for a long wait. Management should have thought ahead, since there were quite a few athletes staying there for the meet happening that weekend.

Underrated hostel in a very very expensive area to stay. I stayed for 7 nights and i enjoyed everyone of them, excellent and modern facilities, big kitchen (think in all that comes back from skiing between 5-7), big dining room. and great rooms (plugs everywhere even top bunk which is awesome). only 15 min bus to the village is not a big deal...

The HI hostel in Whistler is located in a beautiful and scenic area. A bus stop right in front of the hostel brings you directly to the village. The hostel is super clean and rooms are super spacious and beautiful. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back next time we're visiting Whistler.

Was clean and the common areas looked nice. It's a quiet beautiful area but quite far from the village (15 to 20 minute drive) nothing much in the area. We got a private room was clean, bed was awful though very creaky and uncomfortable. Room was also extremely hot, we adjusted thermostat but the sign above said it takes up to 3 hours but even after that time temperature didnt change.

The whole building is remodeled!! A bit far from the village, but you wouldn't find anything closer for this price. The bus leaves you right outside the hostel!! Modern facilities, you feel more in a hotel than a hostel!! Juts improve the wifi PLEASE!!!!!!!!

An awesome place to stay while visiting Whistler and can be reach quite easily from Vancouver airport via bus. Although you need to catch a local bus to reach this place after getting down in Whistler. They have every amenities, such as common area to hang around, a common kitchen to cook, almost everything you can think of. However, the location is little far from the usual must visit places around the area. For example, to ride Whistler Blackcomb gondola, you need to travel via the local buses (if you are not driving), which can take almost 20 min to reach. The bust stop is located just around the corner of this place, like you come out from the main entrance and surprise!! the bus stop is here :) The people who run this place are amazing. They will suggest and assist you almost everything you want do during your stay in Whistler.

Very comfortable, modern hostel with great features. Bed was comfortable, room was modern and bright. Pool table, media room, lots of outdoor seating on the second floor balconies.

Ample parking if you are driving; city bus comes by often to take you into the village if you don't have a car or bike.

Tip: Cheaky's cafe has a great breakfast wrap.

Excellent base for Whistler with lots to do in surrounding area

Hostel - modern, comfortable, good cafe for breakfast, en-suite forms (4 beds per dorm) and clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Huge kitchen and eating area and a good TV room for watching films.

Transport - 25-30min bus ride, regular departures. Very easy and runs through the night. Last bus is around 3am (we went out in Whistler for the speed ski)

Surroundings - there are great hikes directly from the hostel, the train wreck walk is really beautiful and probably some of the nicest scenery we saw in BC. Also there is function junction which has a fantastic cafe (Wild Wood), delicious bakery and two breweries to drink at if you don t want to go all the way into town. Function Junction is about 10mins walk from hostel and from there you can walk along various trails to all the lakes between the Olympic village and Whistler town, very nice.

Skiing -lift pass approx 130$ and equipment another 60-70$ if you need everything. The skiing is absolutely amazing and we were complete beginners and managed to get down both mountains on green runs.

We loved staying at Hi and I would definitely stay there again if I return to Whistler.

Best hostel bar-none.

Best hostel bar-none.
Made friends there that will last a lifetime.
Feels like a hotel, well kept and great social space.
Ask for Sinthia or Daniella at the front desk,
they will go above and beyond as long as you are polite.

HI Whistler is a really good hostel. A big kitchen and large chill out areas, including some seating outside. A room is provided to store skiing/biking equipment.
It's located in the old Olympic Village, so is a distance from the main town, so you'll be driving or taking the bus everyday.
I was there during a quiet period so I can't comment on the normal atmosphere. It's also very clean.

My friends and I stayed in a 4 bed dorm for a ski trip. I've stayed here in summer when it was fully booked but it was pretty empty when we stayed this time. It's a pretty standard hostel, nothing amazing. The good: decent facilities (TV room, pool table, Cafe on ground floor, cheap washers and dryers, very nice staff) the bad: terrible location (far out from the village, have to drive or bus in to go skiing, in the middle of nowhere - no shops bars or restaurants nearby), squeaky wooden beds, very noisy when you roll around, stuffy room (I don't think it has any AC, just heating, and our room stank like smelly boots because there's no air flow). Each suite of 2x 4 bed dorms shares a bathroom, hot water sucks, bathrooms get a 2/5 for cleanliness - always a musty smell in the shower. Linen was clean but a bit stained, pillows were gross under the pillow cases. Wifi really really really sucks. All HI-Hostels have TERRIBLE wifi - their captive portal kicks you off after an hour or so. In general I find HI-Hostels to be bland and soulless. At the end of the day, it's just a cheap place to sleep and shower, which is fine. Won't win any awards but it's your only option In Whistler, so what else are you gonna do?

around the hostel:volleyball soccer field, Tv room and pool table in hostel.

UNCLEAN! Just stayed in a private room where when I went to bed I thought the pillows and sheets smelled funky but I was tired and tried to ignore. The rooms do not have A/C so I had the floor fan on high to try and help with the heat. Upon check out I realized I forgot a shirt in the room. When I went back to the room (5 min) the bed was made and apparently it was already 'clean' ready for the next guest? DISGUSTING You cant even change pillow sheets, let alone bed sheets, clean washroom, etc. in under 5 min. I was late for a meeting otherwise I would have complained. I now have pink eye and what looks like spider bites on my arm. Thanks HI Whistler. For your health and safety spend a few extra bucks for a clean bed and room.

This place is awesome! Lots of common areas to chill in , plenty of private bathrooms on every floor . About a 15 min walk from some cool breweries, and the bus to the ski resort pick up is right in front. Unfortunately I have to give a lower rating because the bunk beds in the dorm were so incredibly loud when making even the smallest movements, one guy actually left the room and slept on the couch because the noise was so bad. I highly recommend fixing this

Hi-whistler is located in a beautiful scenic area about 5-10 mins drive away from whistler village. The location is much more quiet so if you want to go out to eat or drink you need to travel to whistler village. The hostel itself is clean and well appointed. The rooms are spacious and have big bathrooms. Friendly staff are there to answer any questions you may have. Overall an excellent hostel

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Very clean and modern. The private room is also clean and spacious. It's not in the main Whistler village so you have to take a bus or taxi to the village or to eat.

Nice place, they could add some sort of fan to each room tho, there s a lot of people out there who have trouble sleeping in hotels because of noise. And people who can only fall asleep with a fan running. I m not gonna buy one at Walmart for a 4 day snow trip, each room should have one
