Hi Dozo Sushi Restaurant Review

Lunch vento boxes and wild salmon sashimi are very good

Their food is quite good. I like their dinamite combo is tasty, and the roll size is perfect bite size. Also highly recommend their monkey brain, takoyaki, and tuna tataki. My only critique would be to have better attitude from older lady server, she's never in a good mood. Otherwise rest of servers are quite polite and helpful.

taste, service, and presentation was okay, but I definitely noticed that portions were about 20% smaller than other sushi restaurants (be prepared to still be hungry after your meal, or to shell out more money to order another dish)

The food is good, but the music is very loud and annoying, always with someone screaming. So I prefer to take out.

Steps from my house, so I go there all the time. Yummy and fresh, noodles are good too. Nothing to pick on.Just so good!

The Korean lady was rude, she made the wrong order, when I came home, it wasn't what I ordered at all. Called her and she said that because I said Tuna instead of Salmon! I knew what I said, bad service, I don't recommend it. You are deserved better service with the same amount of money.

Fantastic Sushi!

Before going to Hi Dozo I rarely ate sushi. Now I have it 2 or 3 times a week after realizing it was because I had never had really good sushi. I really like HI Dozo and find the services is good, the staff are friendly and I while I rarely have the same thing twice, I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have tried.

I highly recommend HI Dozo.

My friend and I came here for lunch earlier today. I ordered a Vegetarian Bento box minus mayonnaise to make it as close as possible to a vegan meal. My friend and I haven't seen each other for a while so we were quite engaged with our conversation. Without realizing it early I have chewed and swallowed a prawn tempura that was hidden in my assorted vegetable tempura. I only realized it after I have already swallowed the prawn including the tail.... I should have checked everything.... instead of trusting this restaurant. Probably won't come back.

In all honesty Japanese food in gvr are all 95% good. No exception here. Their lunch boxes are amazing at 8.99. 5stars

Loved this place! The eel roll was absolutely delicious but when I went there again, the place was closed without any signs or anything. Now I'm confused, are they out of business?

This is simply the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. Waited ten minutes to place my order when only two other tables were filled. I had another fifteen minute wait just for sake and one roll. Shameful customer service.

Not sure why there are some mixed reviews. I go here every week. My wife is Japanese and we are very picky. This place has good well price food and their customer service is great. They always smile at me and are polite.

It s fine sushi, not going to go back, but not mad about it, ya know. It s just fine.

Ordered from Uber tonight and couldn't me more satisfied. Agedashi tofu and gyoza were crispy. Rolls were a perfect size and prices were fantastic. Will be ordering again.

Great Japanese Sushi restaurant. The food is good, we have been may times and plan on future visits. The decor is pleasant, some privacy between tables with tall back booths. The staff are a bit "standoffish". We always receive exactly what we order, however there is limited interaction and quality checks. Servers could be a bit more friendly without going over the top.

If you like to order then be left in peace to enjoy your food, you will love this place.

Beautiful decor, friendly and fast service and delicious food with beautiful presentation. I've been going to this place for YEARS and the only disappointment I've ever recieved is once their tuna Sashimi was a little chewy, but that happens! Their Yam Fry Roll and Agedashi Tofu are a couple of my favorites, the tofu having a crunchier batter than most places (which I personally love)
This place is a go-to for me :) when I want sushi!

50 minutes after I order from UberEats, it was cancelled. Not even an apologize message... Congratulations. You guys have the worst customer service ever.

Delicious food.. you have to try the Ebi Chili mayo or the Broccoli gomae.

Great quality and affordable food. Always fresh. Be prepared to wait though, it's chronically under staffed. They try their best but one server to all 12 tables and booths is an uphill battle for anyone

My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant due to so many other places being closed or fully booked on family day...were we ever lucky to find it.

Delicious ramen noodles made in house, Sashimi is fresh and generous portions so many choices for the special rolls. We had the tsunami roll and was it ever good. Highly recommend this place

It's a nice place to sit, and the food is always really good!

Paid $40 for leftovers . Rice was like the rice you get at a grocery store, cold not sticky and hard. BBQ eel was cold.... How.... How can you take our money like that .

Everything was fresh and tasted great. Service was good but could improve, but it's not bad at all. Staff is friendly at least. Will definitely go again.

This place has really gone down hill as far as food quality goes. It used to be my favourite sushi place in New West but after my most recent visit I am thinking that the restaurant either has new owners or a new chef. Totally underwhelming and I can't recommend this place to anyone but one man's syrup is another man's Ippecac.

Great staff and service, and everything on the menu is really great. I live closer to another Sushi place but we always walk the extra couple blocks just to come here. My friend and I come once or twice a week, the service is quick and the food is great. We always feel welcomed when we come. Definately will keep going in the future.

I had a sashimi & sushi bendo, for the price of $12.99 is reasonable but I didn't not like the fact that the salad was not fresh it was just stale icebird lactace and the dressing was those typical Japanese salads dressing that you could buy from a jar..The salmon sashimi tasted that it was sitting on the counter for a while..And the tempura was very greedy...Overall I will not go back again because the food does not taste very fresh to me

The rolls are decent but I wouldn't order any sashimi. The fish comes with frost on it, along with not being the best fish.

One of favourite sushi places when it comes to variety of options. Definitely a few dollars more than usual but you make that up in interesting rolls and generous portions.

Although their rolls are expensive, i come here to eat their donburi (rice bowls). They just need to be more consistent in their flavor.

Order it from uber and the rice were not cooked at all.
Couldn't eat it at all because the rice was too hard too chew and the yakisoba we ordered was drenched in a salty sauce and impossible to eat it. Called the restaurant to tell them about the problem but was told they will call back because they are busy. Waste of money and time waiting for the food. Truly an awful place. They should not run a restaurant at all even when they know theres a problem and they are doing nothing to fix it.

Reasonably priced, service was quick, staff was polite. But the whole table we were seated was sticky for some reason. Our bentos' tempura and sashimi were thinly sliced, and the 2 tea cups we were using happened to be chipped. :(

Got from Uber eats had 2 salmon and Avocado rolls all of the pieces had gross skin on them and I don t even know if it was skin I could not eat it did not look right or taste right. I eat sushi a lot and have never had a gross skin on my salmon sashimi. Don t waste your money, order from somewhere else.

Just ok and the fish in the rolls is not the greatest. This is the spicy sushi combo. I think it used to be better before
