Great gym, amazing food, very nice ambiance (they have an open fire pit which I love), clean changing rooms... It's not my home gym so I can't speak to how often they change the routes, but they're well categorized and there is plenty of them.

Perspective from a moderate climber who just wants to climb an evening with a beer and a burger. Nice decoration and vibe in the hall. There is a lot of space, a large part where you can sit with benches and a bar with bites and drinks. So far, so good. Now it's climbing. Unfortunately this was disappointing. This hall has 2 options: very easy, which is no challenge or kneiter difficult where you flicker within 3 seconds. I came across 2 in between. Where I normally really like bouldering, I have not really enjoyed myself here. Had this also been said to an employee, who indicated that I might be able to study technique .... Okay then Beer and burgers were fine afterwards, but unfortunately this was not the night I hoped for. In short, top hall if you are really good, otherwise unfortunately moderate because of few options.

The new bouldering hall to s finally open! A great place to Boulder, relax have lunch and have a coffee. There are many boulders in a wide range of difficulties. High boulders, roof sections, traverses and a big training wall. Entrance fee is 10,- or 9,- if you are a member. Shoes are for rent. Showers are available.

Today I went here for the first time. We were kindly received and it felt like a warm welcome. Unfortunately, you do not come across that often, it is my experience, so that makes it extra fun! The children had a great time bouldering while I drank something by the fire. There were quite a few people, but my impression is that everyone gives each other space. And also told the children that they were helped a number of times or some instructions .. top! As a closing, I drank a bit and played a game of pool. Relaxed place where you can easily spend a few hours. Next time try some of the lunch or dinner menu .. looked good!

Although it is a nice place and is well equipped (free parking), a few critical remarks, for organizing a children's party. The price / quality ratio is a bit skewed, for the amount of almost 25, - per child, it is provided briefly. Despite the best intentions of the supervisor, he is better not to accompany children, who are difficult to steer. In addition, a pancake, a couple of bottles of ranja and two cups of coffee for the parents, no costs. So you could expect a little attention and / or guidance. The promised hour climb guidance lasted no more than thirty minutes. Also the noise of adjusting climbing routes was not exactly an atmosphere. But, the children have been entertained, and that's what it's about. I would recommend a slightly kinder, friendly companion, offer a little more for the price (more pancakes, a birthday cake? ...), and a present for the kids (key ring?) Afterwards (marketing!). A group of children is also a disturbing factor for other visitors. Then I would drop out, if I were serious about my sport there. In short, it has enough potential for fun birthday parties, but a little more effort .....

Definitely the best bouldering gym in Amsterdam. Much cleaner holds. Much more variety in routs, and much better air flow. Monk had me sweating like I was back home in Alabama! I much prefer this gym to anyone looking for hard climbing in Amsterdam.

Great place for climbers of all levels. They offer courses for adults and a youth club that gives training sessions every Saturday. They also hold competitions and events. There is also a training hall with weights and fingerboards. The food is well priced, very tasty and largely vegan friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff nice. Unfortunately you sometimes have to wait very long for a meal when it is busy

Had an awesome time going bouldering as a team event here. Was my first time here, and in my opinion much better than another boulder place in Amsterdam that I've visited, which tends to get really crowded. Also, the food & chef at Lab were amazing. I'm on a very restrictive diet at the moment, and the chef really accommodated, and made a terrific meal even with limited options. I had dinner with a group of about 20 people, and their food looked (and so I was told tasted) amazing as well. Highly reccommended for both bouldering and food.

(3 stars) The training possibilities with campusboard, hangboard and training wall are really very good. The hall is quite big and you are not afraid to step on someone's feet. The seating is adequate and comfortable. However, the routes are too often screwed on power or not in the specified difficulty. The handles are unfortunately often dirty. In addition, I found it annoying that several sections are turned over at the same time. The shop is ok, but why are there no prices listed? Burgers and fries were good, but prices were comparable to those in the city center. The hall is worth a look, but unfortunately I have to say that the Monk has turned out to be a better bouldering hall for me.

Lots of potential but low quality boulders. The color system with two different grades in the same color is very confusing and makes it hard to find the right stuff. The boulders are not really problems / creative but more short climbing routes. Easy problems are not interesting because the use of boring holds (small sharp jugs) and the harder problems are mostly quite reachy and physical. Also a lot of weird sit starts which are really uncomfortable. Overall very nice atmosphere, a good place to chill and the food we had was amazing.. hope to see more interesting setting in the future!

Spacious, clean bouldergym with regular routesetting and a lot of potential. Very nice, friendly staff. But to enjoy boulders at lab you need to be tall enough... :/ When it goes to food it's soo good (I love the soups!) but sometimes they forget my order. *** UPDATE: After a year from my review boulders developed so much! I give 5 stars.

Great atmosphere. The people are very inviting, willing to help, and enthusiastic. The difficulty is sometimes hard to judge from a colour, but once you assume that every grade is about a grade higher, then you're up for a lot of exciting climbing. The gym has interesting boulders for almost all styles of climbing in grades ranging from beginner to advanced. The boulders are reset per grade once every two months or so, leaving plenty of time for your project, yet not overstaying their welcome become all greasy and super dirty.

Regarding climbind -> The climbing experience and ambiance is pretty good. The hall itself is spacios and the routes can are suitable for beginners and more advanced climbers. From a utilities perspective -> the bicycle rack (in front of the main entrance and outdoor bouldering walls) is not secure at all. Our bicycles got stolen while we were bouldering on a Saturday afternoon/evening while locked with two separate locks to the racks. As informed by the staff, bicycle theft is a frequent occurence in Het Lab and yet there is no video surveilance or even suitable lighting fixture over the bicycle rack. It is very disappointing how little they care about the means that people go there with, given their remote location.

Fantastic new boulder gym, with lots of light, many different types of boulders, including a cave, traverses and high boulders. At the time of writing, the hall has only been open for two days, so not everything is finished, but it is clear that it will be beautiful.

A quite diverse collection of boulders in a chilled setting. The gym has been open for a couple of years now and it reached a very good pace: the boulders are changed quite often (it is the biggest bouldering gym in Amsterdam) and they offer a "competition" all year long. Those problems are renewed every quarter or so. Last but not least, it is part of the Klimmuur network. One membership to rule them all across the country.

Great place, lots of boulders of different grades. It's not super busy or crowded which gives it a nice atmosphere. The staff is very helpful. They also have nice beers and snacks for after. They even serve very nice vegan food for dinner if you get very hungry.

As a climber I went there to discover the boulder gym - on pictures you can see that the location has an incredible potential to climb. But once there, the first challenge is to understand the grading system : complex and not convenient at all which should not be that hard to map out ... When it comes to the boulder setting - very low quality... I am wondering if they have proper setters - which is a pity when you pay 10eur the entrance - you expect them to put efforts on how the boulder problems are set. Very reachy & physical - you can definitely see that there is a lack of knowledge on how to set ! Missing foot holds - repetitive moves - very weird starts moves - wrong orientations on the holds... again such a pity for a location with this potential ! Also, variety on the moves and prehension with the holds is poor for a boulder gym. We had a some snacks they were good but a bit pricy. Overall if you want to have a great climbing/ boulder session - better to go to Mountain Network or Monk without any hesitation!

The atmosphere (with the staff and the people coming here) makes Het Lab an amazing bouldering gym. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The first time I visited was on a Sunday and they had a lovely competition, in which I just jumped straight in. After that session I came back a few times more during my trip. The only minus in the gym is that it could use more cleaning. A lot of the holds are dirty and super slippery. Also the slab wall was very dirty which made the routes so much harder. It was hard to brush the wall and holds since after that all the rubber and chalk was just a layer on top of the mat and on your shoes. But with that, I still came back multiple times and enjoyed every visit. Would definitely recommend!

very nice boulder hall, many "small steps" in level difference between boulder routes which will help practice for more difficult levels because you do not have such a big difference. Unfortunately, the same color with a more difficult level is mixed up which is very getting used to, because you have to pay attention to a very small card that may or may not hang on it, confusing. it is not that there are no more colors on the rainbow!
