Great gym, amazing food, very nice ambiance (they have an open fire pit which I love), clean changing rooms... It's not my home gym so I can't speak to how often they change the routes, but they're well categorized and there is plenty of them.

Het Lab
Perspective from a moderate climber who just wants to climb an evening with a beer and a burger. Nice decoration and vibe in the hall. There is a lot of space, a large part where you can sit with benches and a bar with bites and drinks. So far, so good. Now it's climbing. Unfortunately this was disappointing. This hall has 2 options: very easy, which is no challenge or kneiter difficult where you flicker within 3 seconds. I came across 2 in between. Where I normally really like bouldering, I have not really enjoyed myself here. Had this also been said to an employee, who indicated that I might be able to study technique .... Okay then Beer and burgers were fine afterwards, but unfortunately this was not the night I hoped for. In short, top hall if you are really good, otherwise unfortunately moderate because of few options.
Loved the place. Very good space with many different types of lines and grabs in many degrees. Had lots of tables and spaces to sit, talk, a pool table. Really nice.
Spacious and clean. Nice boulder route / competition.
The new bouldering hall to s finally open! A great place to Boulder, relax have lunch and have a coffee. There are many boulders in a wide range of difficulties. High boulders, roof sections, traverses and a big training wall. Entrance fee is 10,- or 9,- if you are a member. Shoes are for rent. Showers are available.
New boulder hall in Amsterdam. Boulders also for good level novice climbers. Lots of space, tasty dishes on the menu. Promising!!!
In my opinion, the nicest boulder gym in Amsterdam. Nice spacious hall with a cozy atmosphere. If you want to start bouldering, I can recommend the alpha course!
Today I went here for the first time. We were kindly received and it felt like a warm welcome. Unfortunately, you do not come across that often, it is my experience, so that makes it extra fun! The children had a great time bouldering while I drank something by the fire. There were quite a few people, but my impression is that everyone gives each other space. And also told the children that they were helped a number of times or some instructions .. top! As a closing, I drank a bit and played a game of pool. Relaxed place where you can easily spend a few hours. Next time try some of the lunch or dinner menu .. looked good!
Peacefully quiet Great! Good staff
Although it is a nice place and is well equipped (free parking), a few critical remarks, for organizing a children's party. The price / quality ratio is a bit skewed, for the amount of almost 25, - per child, it is provided briefly. Despite the best intentions of the supervisor, he is better not to accompany children, who are difficult to steer. In addition, a pancake, a couple of bottles of ranja and two cups of coffee for the parents, no costs. So you could expect a little attention and / or guidance. The promised hour climb guidance lasted no more than thirty minutes. Also the noise of adjusting climbing routes was not exactly an atmosphere. But, the children have been entertained, and that's what it's about. I would recommend a slightly kinder, friendly companion, offer a little more for the price (more pancakes, a birthday cake? ...), and a present for the kids (key ring?) Afterwards (marketing!). A group of children is also a disturbing factor for other visitors. Then I would drop out, if I were serious about my sport there. In short, it has enough potential for fun birthday parties, but a little more effort .....
Highly recommend Shoe rental was good too
Definitely the best bouldering gym in Amsterdam. Much cleaner holds. Much more variety in routs, and much better air flow. Monk had me sweating like I was back home in Alabama! I much prefer this gym to anyone looking for hard climbing in Amsterdam.
I didn t enjoy bouldering but now I do, at het Lab.
Supermarket boulder hall! Great routes and nice atmosphere. Only minus is that there are few brush sticks.
A wonderful climbing gym with a large variety of food at the gym. A really nice range of holds and climbs, with a nice open space for work and fun.
Went to Het Lab with my friend today. He has size 46/47, but the largest size of climbing shoes (48.5) was too small for him. Too bad we drove to Amsterdam for free, it would be nice if larger sizes were also purchased.
A lot of fun for a fair price. First time bouldering, everyone was friendly.
Great place to practice in bouldering: many walls for different levels, great service too, come with friends!
Great atmosphere, staff do everything they can to accommodate your needs. Burgers are super tasty!
Great place for climbers of all levels. They offer courses for adults and a youth club that gives training sessions every Saturday. They also hold competitions and events. There is also a training hall with weights and fingerboards. The food is well priced, very tasty and largely vegan friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff nice. Unfortunately you sometimes have to wait very long for a meal when it is busy
Nice staff, good atmosphere Friendly climbers
Good puzzle routes may only be adjusted a little more often
Had an awesome time going bouldering as a team event here. Was my first time here, and in my opinion much better than another boulder place in Amsterdam that I've visited, which tends to get really crowded. Also, the food & chef at Lab were amazing. I'm on a very restrictive diet at the moment, and the chef really accommodated, and made a terrific meal even with limited options. I had dinner with a group of about 20 people, and their food looked (and so I was told tasted) amazing as well. Highly reccommended for both bouldering and food.
Brand new with always changing layout. Makes it always exciting!
(3 stars) The training possibilities with campusboard, hangboard and training wall are really very good. The hall is quite big and you are not afraid to step on someone's feet. The seating is adequate and comfortable. However, the routes are too often screwed on power or not in the specified difficulty. The handles are unfortunately often dirty. In addition, I found it annoying that several sections are turned over at the same time. The shop is ok, but why are there no prices listed? Burgers and fries were good, but prices were comparable to those in the city center. The hall is worth a look, but unfortunately I have to say that the Monk has turned out to be a better bouldering hall for me.
Lots of potential but low quality boulders. The color system with two different grades in the same color is very confusing and makes it hard to find the right stuff. The boulders are not really problems / creative but more short climbing routes. Easy problems are not interesting because the use of boring holds (small sharp jugs) and the harder problems are mostly quite reachy and physical. Also a lot of weird sit starts which are really uncomfortable. Overall very nice atmosphere, a good place to chill and the food we had was amazing.. hope to see more interesting setting in the future!
Very nice bouldering place. And you can eat well there. Very pleasant service. :) That makes you happy. Have fun
Spacious, clean bouldergym with regular routesetting and a lot of potential. Very nice, friendly staff. But to enjoy boulders at lab you need to be tall enough... :/ When it goes to food it's soo good (I love the soups!) but sometimes they forget my order. *** UPDATE: After a year from my review boulders developed so much! I give 5 stars.
Extremely friendly staff, clean and built well, and very good climbing problems
Great atmosphere. The people are very inviting, willing to help, and enthusiastic. The difficulty is sometimes hard to judge from a colour, but once you assume that every grade is about a grade higher, then you're up for a lot of exciting climbing. The gym has interesting boulders for almost all styles of climbing in grades ranging from beginner to advanced. The boulders are reset per grade once every two months or so, leaving plenty of time for your project, yet not overstaying their welcome become all greasy and super dirty.
Best hall in town :) friendly staff, great bites, good coffee
Regarding climbind -> The climbing experience and ambiance is pretty good. The hall itself is spacios and the routes can are suitable for beginners and more advanced climbers. From a utilities perspective -> the bicycle rack (in front of the main entrance and outdoor bouldering walls) is not secure at all. Our bicycles got stolen while we were bouldering on a Saturday afternoon/evening while locked with two separate locks to the racks. As informed by the staff, bicycle theft is a frequent occurence in Het Lab and yet there is no video surveilance or even suitable lighting fixture over the bicycle rack. It is very disappointing how little they care about the means that people go there with, given their remote location.
Relaxed atmosphere, different routes every time, you can bouldering at your own pace and difficulty.
Good place, nice atmosphere. Very crowded in the evenings.
Nice atmosphere, charming lady behind the counter, challenging boulders. Gradations are slightly confusing.
Fantastic new boulder gym, with lots of light, many different types of boulders, including a cave, traverses and high boulders. At the time of writing, the hall has only been open for two days, so not everything is finished, but it is clear that it will be beautiful.
Great place for bouldering. Lots of space and lots of options. All levels and great for kids!! (Special secure area for kids with kids routes )
Top place in Amsterdam. Good routes and very clever they have an A4 with a build in difficulty that you can use and check off yourself. Good challenge
Modern and contemporary bouldering gym - ample social space, food kitchen and routesetting. Special events and music on the weekends.
Fine boulder hall. Very friendly staff. Good coffee!
Cool boulders, fun hall and employees, gore handles. The latter is really a deal breaker. Nowhere else do I slither off the grips so often because they are so slippery. That's too bad. Furthermore, a nice hall.
A quite diverse collection of boulders in a chilled setting. The gym has been open for a couple of years now and it reached a very good pace: the boulders are changed quite often (it is the biggest bouldering gym in Amsterdam) and they offer a "competition" all year long. Those problems are renewed every quarter or so. Last but not least, it is part of the Klimmuur network. One membership to rule them all across the country.
Started bouldering about 2 months ago and loved the atmosphere right away. People are nice and passionate! 10/10 would recommend
Great atmosphere, people are nice and helpful, boulders are diverse with a good difficulty range and food is always tasty.
Great place, lots of boulders of different grades. It's not super busy or crowded which gives it a nice atmosphere. The staff is very helpful. They also have nice beers and snacks for after. They even serve very nice vegan food for dinner if you get very hungry.
It was rather dark inside. Even for the time we went it was very busy and by 7 pm there was a line of about 20 tot 30 people getting in.
As a climber I went there to discover the boulder gym - on pictures you can see that the location has an incredible potential to climb. But once there, the first challenge is to understand the grading system : complex and not convenient at all which should not be that hard to map out ... When it comes to the boulder setting - very low quality... I am wondering if they have proper setters - which is a pity when you pay 10eur the entrance - you expect them to put efforts on how the boulder problems are set. Very reachy & physical - you can definitely see that there is a lack of knowledge on how to set ! Missing foot holds - repetitive moves - very weird starts moves - wrong orientations on the holds... again such a pity for a location with this potential ! Also, variety on the moves and prehension with the holds is poor for a boulder gym. We had a some snacks they were good but a bit pricy. Overall if you want to have a great climbing/ boulder session - better to go to Mountain Network or Monk without any hesitation!
Very cool noise room. Large and varied. Nice service, nice wardrobes and relatively cheap. Bar and cafe, as well as BOOM inside!
Great place to climb. Good evenviroment, nice little restaurant also.
A nice wall, net bouldering, a little far from the city center
Great bouldering gym. Nice sunny terrace for a beer after solving some routes.
The atmosphere (with the staff and the people coming here) makes Het Lab an amazing bouldering gym. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The first time I visited was on a Sunday and they had a lovely competition, in which I just jumped straight in. After that session I came back a few times more during my trip. The only minus in the gym is that it could use more cleaning. A lot of the holds are dirty and super slippery. Also the slab wall was very dirty which made the routes so much harder. It was hard to brush the wall and holds since after that all the rubber and chalk was just a layer on top of the mat and on your shoes. But with that, I still came back multiple times and enjoyed every visit. Would definitely recommend!
Chill place for climbing. Interesting problems for beginner, intermediate and experienced. Also has decent food and sometimes there is the possibility to hang out at the fire place with a beer.
Awesome boalders, great food, great atmosphere. All in all great place.
very nice boulder hall, many "small steps" in level difference between boulder routes which will help practice for more difficult levels because you do not have such a big difference. Unfortunately, the same color with a more difficult level is mixed up which is very getting used to, because you have to pay attention to a very small card that may or may not hang on it, confusing. it is not that there are no more colors on the rainbow!
Nice place, nice & helpful employees. Beautiful routes, which are regularly renewed
Spacious layout and many routes to choose from. A nice addition is the map with check list on the back.
Very nice hall! But I'm used to Energiehaven, hence 3 stars
Nice bouldering facility with friendly staff and good food.
Good place to spend some team building and nice food
New bouldering hall. Spacious, very social, lots of potential!
Excellent boulder gym, one of the best in Amsterdam. Big, plenty of routes for pros and beginners -which are reset often-, good maintenance, and good food. A bit too busy during the evenings on weekdays.
We took a group of 9 year old girls here for a birthday party and they were great, accommodating and very safety minded. The kids had fun, the other climbers were flexible and it was a great success.
The kitchen of the restaurant is in the middle of the boulder hall, in the evening it smells like you're climbing a shawarma shop. There were also slightly fewer routes than I thought, but the route setting is really cool.
For people who love climbing or just want to give it a try, come along to get an impression of what it looks like
Good bouldering in a large hall. Okay kitchen but you might have to wait a while, but you can of course keep climbing while you wait.
