Appalling service.... LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR CLASSIC CAR INSURANCE. Complete rip-off. As others have said here these people are trying to con you and really should be reported to trading standards. Had 4 vehicles insured with them for 10 years, but when it came to the first and only claim the service was just dreadful, been waiting 4 months and still not resolved owing to the instruction of a cut price solicitor. Furthermore, we were contacted today to be advised that all these policies will be more than doubling in price despite the fact that the only recent claim is against someone else s insurer. The kid on the phone even seemed to imply that we were guilty of some sort of fraudulent behaviour as we attempted to renew a policy before being involved in the horrible accident which was entirely the fault of the other driver. Such despicable unpleasant tactics have left us horrified, and if you ever do have an accident this is the last thing you need.
a terrible experience of having a car insurance with this company. i paid in full at once, they canceled the insurance after 3 months with no refund. just do not use this company.
They offer no refund after cancelation of policy because i sold the car. Thieves. Straight thieves
I don't always take much notice of online reviews but having dealt with this company I have realized that the negative ones on here are accurate. There will be better insurance companies out there because however good the deal look with Herts Insurance, in practice they will be expensive or sell you the wrong policy or you will have had to wait hours to talk to someone who won't actually know what they're talking about. So best avoid them and don't make the mistake I did of thinking that actually the poor reviews are wrong and they might be ok - they're not.
I was quoted and according to the quotation I made the payment. 10 minutes after the transaction I was called back and informed that the quotation given to me was not calculated right and the new premium amount was more than double the first one. I rejected the offer and I have still received my reimbursement for the first quoted transaction. Far from professionalism. I can provide a list of my bad experience with them but I found that also waste of time. Not worth investing anything.
Seems their business plan is to draw people in with cheap premiums and then demand extra payments where they can and deliver very poor customer service.
Actively look for discrepancies so as to levy admin fees to 'resolve the issue'.

Con Artists - DO NOT INSURE YOUR CAR OR VAN WITH THESE CON MEN.
Insured three vehicles with them last year for a good price via Just Kampers. Soon found out why. All the extras that 'were included' had costly admin fees to activate. Took me six months to get them to process agreed valuation forms as 'I hadn't paid the admin fee' despite it being included in the price of the policy.
Now I've come to renew, I've moved insurers and they are refusing to give me my No Claims Bonus because my policy 'doesn't accrue' no claims. Again, nothing was said about this at renewal. I'm absolutely livid as I look and sound like a total prat to my new insurers. Go with anyone apart from HIC. DO NOT INSURE WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Bizarre company truly as the reviews suggest if your very lucky you might actually speak with a knowledgeable individual but I have been on the phone a half dozen times over the last 2 weeks and only spoken with 1 or two people who actually have a clue or are not just rude a unhelpful.
