Thee Hernando County Sheriff's Office is a great unit to have in Hernando County. All of my dealings with them they have always been professional and helpful. I know a few employees personally and I can tell you that they truly care about the community they serve.
Top knotch well trained department that have A active interest in the community
They r so nice to people have never had a bad time they r wounderful
"These police are tough and smart." Definitely took the words out of my mouth because some of them are tough like the beating that happened where they try and cover it up like nothing happened as well as being smartasses when they come on the scene and thats exactly what happened with me deputy karin harp so to speak. I will never forget her or her attitude and lies and want to know where im at even tho shes taking care of another case? Absolutely none of her business and on top of it all she wanted to think that she was right when she was wrong and i even compared and contrasted the reports for myself. Very close minded person and she'll what she used on me on my report get "whats coming to her" with that attitude. Be nice or don't but definitely kudos to the cops that do have a heart and dont get brainwashed for 3.5 hours. LMAO
Hernando's finest does a great job, and if you dont agree than great chance is your a criminal or shady and mad cause they guys busted you one time or another.
Unbelievable the amount of people who willingly break the law by driving slow or blocking other vehicles on the left lane, which in turn, explains Floridas high rate of vehicle accidents and road rage. I have never ever seen anything like this. It's the entire state of Florida! Everyone blocks the left lane and PD holds no one accountable for that specific issue. Leave the left lane alone!!
You said it all right there I and my family and many others know intimately how corrupt they really are.
There needs to be an investigation into the activities of this county and all police departments.
It really is disturbing how there isn't any oversight into any government operations on a public level. Sometimes they are worse than the criminals.
I just wanted to thank the 2 officers k turner and T Burke for the guidance they provided last night they both were very professional and handled our situation the best possible way
Thank you both!!
The police went into my temple. Tried to darken my doorway. I was brought here by Gods other servants, who are ridiculing you all as soon as you report this. :-)
Thank you for Sheriff N. He is. a gift from God. He is an outstanding man. who helps a lot of charity, besides his own job.
My experience pertains to fingerprinting services only. I went in early in the morning, signed my name on the list to be fingerprinted, and watched as 4 Brooksville PD officers (3 in uniform, 1 in street clothes)come in after me and sign the list, yet were all called in to get fingerprints taken before me. What is the point of the list? Maybe officers should be offered fingerprint times separate from the general public so as not to piss off those of us patiently awaiting our turn in line.
I would like to thank the Hernando County Sheriff's office for their quick response and professional in handling of my request for lost hunters. My son and his friend went hunting supposedly in the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area.. At least that was the hunting plan left by my son. Along with the excellent communication of the deputy contacting me several times to update me on progress it's was determined threw a cell phone ping that they were hunting a totally different management area approx 50 miles away. The deputy along with the FWC and air support were able to locate the lost hunters. Providing them aid and assured their safety. The constant communication from the deputy was above and beyond. In a day when there is so much negative regarding our fine law enforcement. It's a comfort to know such professional and compassion exists with Hernando County Sheriff's along with FWC Officers. I would like to thank all involved. Sincerely E.Felts.
Department needs an outside entity evaluation. Used to be professional and reliable. Now is corrupt and untrustworthy.
And stop following me around. I am a decent citizen with a clean record. Go after the money launderers and real criminals.
Very good Sheriff, good leadership and quality officers.
I have met many who care about this community and prove it by taking to the time to meet with local crimewatch groups.
They have good interest in community policing and receptive to get more patrols on the Weeki Wachee River.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis is an excellent example of how a leader should "lead" his office and department. He's very hands on and involved in every part of the daily operations and it truly shows. Great job Sheriff Al Nienhuis and the Hernando County Sheriff's Department!
I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for protecting all the public on a daily basis. Also yesterday your dept provided all the biker community on a memorial run for 9-11. You all did a fantastic job in providing a safe passage to our destination.
All that you do goes so unappreciated by some people but there is a majority that appreciates you putting your life on the line everyday just to make us safe!!!
Thank you,
George Hunter
Hernando Sheriff's Office is a quality law enforcement organization. Especially in the face of the financial challenges with which they are asked to operate. Their street deputies are always respectful and professional and we should feel safer that they are here to assure our safety.
I had lost my wallet on the Hwy and the officer came across it personally brought it to my home. Thank You for taking the time. Great group of men and women
HCSO deputy's are great, One thing any deputy upholds the law but they don't make the law and can't. When it comes to firearm laws in Hernando County the laws are the same in the entire state of FL. However to make this nice and sweet deputy's do not understand FL Gun law statutes especially Statutes under FL Chapter 790. Apply for a federal license as there carry permit given by the Dept of Agriculture is a joke. If a officer isn't trained well enough in these statutes they can be sued under FL Preemption statutes which the monies comes out of the pocket of the deputy not the dept, FL legislation makes the laws not HCSO as there peace officers NOT law makers and MUST follow the law if they like it or not.
You MAY think Florida is a closed carry state, It is.....TO A POINT. There is open carry in FL you just must understand the law and do it within the law. Nothing they can do. Get a Federal license as the Feds over ride the State on the Federal level which falls under Federal laws. Background check goes out the Window on the Federal level and firearms legally get delivered to YOUR homes door and wholesale at that from ANYWHERE in the good ole USA.
Be careful guys, it's the end of the month and they are trying to catch up on their quota. Which means, since they are trying to find honor in what they do because all eyes are on them for all the controversy they have helped create, they will be out looking for trouble. And not the right kind of trouble, I mean a provoked by them kind of trouble. Two tips, drive 5 under the speed limit, and secondly get a go pro or action camera in your car and have that pointed at your dash the best way you can that way when they say" I pulled you over for going over the speed limit" you have proof you did not, and you can then go down to the sheriff's department and dispute the ticket and have them take the ticket and throw it out like nothing happened. For the Veterans that served in the military that work for these guys, don't get wrapped up in this drama, remember you served the people that was the oath that stays with you a lifetime, these cops don't know anything about serving the people, they never had to do it in a global scale like we did. I respect the good cops, but I don't like the bad ones, and there are a lot of sour apples compared to the good ones. Thank you, and have a great year.
p.s About the Facebook not being a place to air a person's frustrations that is actually false being that even the FBI is aware that Facebook is part of the 2nd amendment. I see the complaints here, there are more complaints than compliments. So what should you guys be doing fixing the problem, not the robotic reply message "Mr so and so takes misconduct and blah blah blah very seriously....." Relating your frustrations with friends and family through social media is not against the law, unless that post insinuates a threat, which I'm sure the people of Hernando county are not stupid enough to do.
Also, another tip, if you guys have more than 3 fat little Debby cops in your department, it's time to implement a PT(physical training) program, so they can shed the pounds, and to make sure they are actually losing the weight, do a weekly weigh in, and whoever is not losing weight because they like their fatty snacks more, fire them and hire military Veterans, their are Veterans begging for jobs, but instead the fatties are being allowed to stay. Ask yourself this, does a little Debby toy soldier have a chance to catch someone on foot if he loses his breath within a couple minutes, I don't think so.
Officer came to verify VIN on my Motor Coach and was a pleasure to work with.
I want to specifically thank Deputy J. Mathis for his swift action in solving and resolving a hit and run. He was quick and thorough. He was also extremely courteous.
Could you please patrol the areas of Mariner Drive, from County Line to Spring Hill Drive. There is a group of motorcycles drag racing without the muffler's filter. They do loop and start again. Also, off of Quality Drive. They do this late at night. Never hear a single siren! Thanks and be safe.
There was a time when I would not day this but I have seen the sheriff's office change over the years and see them really trying to make a difference when it comes to the drugs and the crime on our streets. God job guys keep it up and be safe.
Extreme corruption with no oversight and a nepotism history of over 20 years of lying and covering up the truth any chance they get caught they internally investigate and say nothing Wrong happened they are worse than criminals
Hernando County deputies Louis Genovese, Kenneth Van Tassel and Steven George say the deputies attempted to cover up the beating...... Is this the way you idiots work?
Would like to thank Deputy N. Kent me and my family was driving when our tire went bad we were on our way to the tire shop in spring hill fl when another deputy noticed and pulled us over to see if we were ok then he arrived second not only did he dropped me off to the tire shop to get my new tire he asked if I would be ok walking back to my car with the tire which was a 10 minute walk with a heavy tire he was going to wait. Also after I got back to my car he stopped by again and asked If I needed help and changed the tire for me
Which was much appreciated
This individual drove in the left-hand Lane for over 5 miles. I was in the right hand lane. He could have pulled in front of me at anytime as I was doing the speed limit. He only moved to the right-hand Lane when he saw a vehicle entering the highway from a street on the left hand side. I hope the new sheriff makes his officers abide by the laws. Yes I know they are entitled to certain privileges, but disobeying the law is not one of those privileges. In response to your question, at this point I don't know the exact date. I can surmise based on my calendar that I was headed to a doctor's appointment. That would put the date at October 18th around 2 in the afternoon.
Most professional law enforcement agency I ve been around.
Officer hauenstein and Mooney we're absolutely great thank you for your
Called in regarding a domestic violence situation and the person took off. Cops literally shined a flashlight in my eyes and asked if it was due to being under the inflience of marijuana. Are you kidding me?? I was assaulted and you're questioning if I used marijuana?? Protect and serve? Yeah, okay. What a waste of resources.
Deputies in office are rude and unprofessional. They are quick to cut you off when you are trying to explain something. Called thinking I was going to receive answers to something, but only just to get rudely spoken to and talked to as a child. Never dealing with anyone in Hernando County sheriff office again.
I want to thank you, all of you, for the protection you have given me during my time of need. As well, I would like to thank you for putting your lives on the line every day for those of us that you do not even know. Katie Bradley
I just want to say Thank you to the ladies in the record department , they were so nice and so patient very helpful getting a report to me when I live out of town.i appreciate your help and kindness through the process thank you again great team!
These officers and the whole emt/ fire Department saved my life about 7 times and recently my husband Y'ALL are the kindest most caring human beings I have ever met!! We love. Y'all thank you for being great heroes god bless all of you
,love ALWAYS 4398 Elwood Road
Man these police are tough and smart. Happy to have some good police around residents take for granted sometimes. I appreciate the hard word and time they put in to keep balance.
I really want to thank duputy N. Kent (traffic stop unit)
Who helped me and my husband on the side of the road with a flat tire he was very generous and helpful with very good sense of humor now that's what you call protect and serve
Extremely disappointed in attitude and authority of Hernando County Sheriff officers today. Traffic from Brooksville, Howell Ave. To Moline Street and down Highlands. I called concerning EXCESSIVE speeds . These cars/ trucks were going 60 on 25 mile per hour street.
One of the officers, who is afraid of dogs, I have a black Labrador was more concerned about being around a dog then speeding problems. He explained to me ......people were FRUSTRATED by detour and therefore EXCESSIVELY speeding. My thought was
Just because they had detour does not mean it is OK to speed. He disagreed.
The second police person said she had not been trained in speeding therefore could do nothing. When asked for police card. Did not have that either.
So what I got from this. If you want to commit a crime take a dog. As police are " scared" of them. Even Labradors retrievers.
Second, police are not trained in " calibrating "
Speed so go as fast as you want....when ever you want.
For me.....I have a concealed weapons permit.
Be prepared to protect yourself!!!
