We loved our visit to HM! Mr. Herman was so knowledgeable and hospitable. The public tour was really fun as well and the tastings were perfect!
This was an amazing tour. We got to try every type bourbon and whiskey and there was an immense amount of knowledge to learn. Herman and Marshall are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
My girlfriend and I were suppose to go on a tour of the distillery this past Saturday May 19th. We called and planned it 3 weeks in advance since we were doing a fun 4 day weekend with a bunch of different events. We showed up at 12:45 (15 min before the tour was suppose to begin) and the building was locked up and no one was around. We were really looking forward to the tour but there's no way we will drive 45 minutes back and risk wasting our time again. Sad to see companies do this to interested potential customers.
Followed by a local friend, I had a complete local experience ~ First, I test 4 kinds of whiskey taste for 1 hour, and of course during the test, the description is very detailed. I have to make a reservation in advance
5 because Ariel Phillips' review is stupid. How are you going to give someone a one star review because of their hours of business and not having the time to answer every phone call. Also, Herman Marshall is my go to whiskey everytime I stop at the store.
Went on an incredible tour hosted by Herman. This was one of the most thorough tours I've ever seen or heard about for any distillery. We for to sample a number of different whiskeys and see how they are made. Herman knows his stuff. I really enjoyed the Rye. This is not a store - it's a working distillery, so make sure if you want to go buy some that they are open, etc.
Took one of their tours. Herman is a swell guy, his team is passionate, and they make a great dram
Best tour EVER! I ve been to Distillerytours all over the world and this one is by far the best and it was free! If you re second guessing, stop and make a trip on over. You won t be disappointed!
Wow! We didn't know that this Distillery is right here in Garland. Really enjoyed the tour, education, tasting and the opportunity to bottle our own Bourbon. Highly recommend this tour and HM Bourbon. Learned the correct method of evaluating a Bourbon and the difference in flavor between corn vs rye. I am sure we will go again and pick up more info and enjoy the tour.
First tried a rye at H+M, what an eye opener! Great tour and sampling. Friendly and informative owners too.
The tour was great and Herman was very informative and fun! I loved how they have a sampling before the tour instead of after and loved bottling my own bourbon! Will probably be back sometime to bottle my own rye!
I have enjoyed HM from the very beginning. Their taproom experience and tours are a great afternoon experience and very informative. Their product is amazing and consistently great to enjoy. But beyond that, the partners hospitality and passion for what they produce is contagious. Don t miss trying a bottle next time you stock up!
I feel like an expert now!!! The "Bottle Your Own Bourbon" Tour at Herman Marshall Distillery was great! I would recommend it to everyone. Herman was super knowledgeable and Marshall was a hoot! You can tell how passionate they are about what they do. The tour was very interactive and you can get hands on in the process from start to the finished product
Great tour. I call it the Immersion Tour. Especially liked bottling my own.
We took the distillery tour on a Saturday. I knew nothing about whiskey but learned a lot from Herman Beckley. The tour and tasting covered how to savoir 3 varieties of H&M whiskey. Bourbon was my favorite. Herman talked about whiskey distilling, aging, whiskey history and judging whiskey. There was also some interesting tid-bits about marketing and making batches of whiskey for competitions.
Due to the attention to detail and the ability to try out ideas, I really can now appreciate the creativity possible with small batch whiskey distillers. Unfortunately, I can not get H&M in Oregon.
Although it felt like Herman and Marshall were rock stars of the local whiskey scene they were very approachable friendly. We toured on an 75% degree day and the distillery room was quite warm and the tasting room was cool. There is lots of water available, so stay hydrated.
My friends and I had a blast. The owner was knowable and friendly
I love the whiskey... but i have been trying to get ahold of people there for weeks with no answer, now the Website won't open. Are they closed? Very Frustrating.
