Machines that are constantly broken, upping the prices of cycles that will half the time leave your laundry so soaking wet it'll take two (overpriced) dryer cycles to fix, and they'll all still end up smelling like a beach at low-tide. Horrible machines, by far my least favorite part of living in an otherwise nice apartment complex.

I live in a congenial 60-apt, building. We have two washing machines. Generally, neighbors are polite and cooperative in using these machines.
They are in use constantly. The same machine has broken down at least three times in the last ten days. Tenants made multiple calls. A Hercules representative stated a service person would arrive Monday morning. It is now late Thursday morning. I, too, would give them zero stars. I've been politely vocal in my frustation to phone reps. They're very friendly and professional. I now wonder if this foot-dragging is some form of retaliation. Our super, a stand-up guy, has no luck when he tries to intercede for tenants. Why?

Common professional decency, honesty, and accountability go a long way. We just want clean dry clothes, Hercules.

I asked them to refund my money. I cannot use their prepaid card. They told me to mail it to them and they would mail me a check. Instead of a check they mailed me a new card. Do not use this company if you don't have to.

The prices are good but the service and upkeep is garbage. If the machines stop working and they are loosing money they will send a tech out. The tech ignores any problems or disgusting conditions of the machines, fixes the problem causing the machine to work, and leaves. The lint is caked up preventing your clothes to dry properly. Some machines just choose whatever cycle they want, reguardless of what you actually pick. Don t go with Hercules if you want you tenents to have quality machines.

My apt complex changed to this company a few years ago. The washing machines barely ever work, clothes come out soaking/ dripping wet/not clean. Clothes come out of the dryers damp. They re always here fixing them. They renovated the laundry room and the washers are giving trouble less than two weeks later. I m sure these are the same inefficient washers and dryers from before. I ve made the decision to just use my local laundry mat.

Just got Hercules machines installed in my buildin...

Just got Hercules machines installed in my building's laundry room two days ago. I was excited about the switch until I tried to use the machines. They gave us all laundry cards with complimentary $5 loaded on them. Went and washed and then tried to dry - dryer won't turn on. I followed all of the instructions and nothing happened. Next day I decide to try again. I decide to load $10 onto my card to do more washing (and hopefully drying) and for some very stupid reason, the $10 doesn't load onto the card - it loads to an account and you have to move it to your card via a machine in the laundry room (huh?!). So, I try to do just that and the machine wants a PIN. I don't have a PIN. I had literally just registered my card and the process mentioned nothing of a PIN! So, I call customer service. I ask what to do - where do I get a PIN? She tells me she doesn't know and to ask the building manager. I ask if we are supposed to get a PIN from the manager and she says she doesn't know! How do you not know? So I ask for a refund. Luckily it's offered with no hassle but you have to wait 7-10 for a paper check! I then proceed to tell her how ridiculous the whole process is and that I will be throwing out my laundry card and just travelling to the laundromat for laundry. She then asks me if I tried cleaning the swipe on the back of my card to get it to work. Huh? 1. My card has no swipe. 2. Card works fine - I can't get money on it! Not even sure she listened to me talk. As soon as I get my refund, I am trashing the laundry card and will just use the laundromat. I will also call my property manager to strongly recommend getting rid of these stupid machines as soon as the current contract is up. The idea of the smart machines is good but poorly executed. If the idea is to make it easier than dealing with quarters then MAKE IT EASIER THAN DEALING WITH QUARTERS! I'll take quarters over this system anyday. Building managers please don't fall for the allure of this system - keep your quarter machines.

Terrible company. Have washed clothes 3 times and 2 times were machines down. First time dryer stole my money and did not work. This time around the machine was down so I couldn't refill my card and my husband tried to go to a laundromat to dry the clothes and he was embarrassingly yelled out because people have strict policies about outside drying. He called at 9 am for a help and they said a technician will be out within 24 hours. ARE YOU *UCKING KIDDING ME? 24 HOURS OF WET CLOTHES? THIS COMPANY SUCKS.

I mean what s the point of having customer service if all they tell you is what you already know. Called many times and repeat the same thing. I ve been waiting for more than two weeks for my smart card to arrive. They sent it to an address without my apartment number. Then has the audacity to just say they sent it out again two weeks later. What a horrible customer service overall.

I have the same frustrations as everyone else. When the washers and dryers aren't broken, they're ok...but I feel like they break pretty frequently.

I always write emails telling the company when washers/dryers are broken and I never hear a peep back. Just say "thanks, we're on it" or follow up.

BY FAR the most frustrating things are the laundry cards:

First, how the F do you charge someone $5 for the pleasure of using a piece of plastic to use your machines...oh a monopoly, that's how...

Second, after some time the cards start having trouble being read by the machines...which normally wouldn't bother me, except the machines used to add money to the cards NEVER have problems reading my card or taking my money. Seems too coincidental/ironic that machines that take my money have no issues, but actually using the $ has issues.

Everytime I wash clothes the machines in my building end up being unbalanced there is no option to pause the machine fix the issue and re-start your cycle. Instead you have to wait for the cycle to finish re-adjust your clothes and PAY AGAIN to start a new cycle. Since I know this is an issue I have resorted to putting half a load in the washer and even then unbalanced this is ridiculous. Here s a thought how about we bring these machines up to the 21 century and have a pause feature where customers can re-adjust a load if needed without having to re-pay. A half load of clothes cost me $6.75 because these machines can t seem to handle a full load (or half a load at that).

I gotta admit I had absolutely no doubt filing my issue via Hercules' website would fall on silent ears and would not lead to a resolution to my problem.

I am happy to say Hercules surpassed my expectations of what good customer service should be. I got multiple email responses that my issue was heard, acted upon and resolved. They even sent me a new laundry card with the refunded amount I requested due to a faulty clothes dryer.

My advice to all of you reading this post...get your Hercules complaints, whether it's a broken machine or a refund, resolved via their website.

This is the second time that I have used the washing machine, No. 2 and it has returned the clothes soaking wet. This means that when I put the clothes in the dryer after 50 minutes the clothes were all still damp and so I had to do everything in the dryer twice.

I called your company and spoke to a man who at first asked me how much I should be refunded. I told him $3.00. For the aggravation I have gone through it should have been $50.00.

Why are your machines not functioning properly? I also asked the man to fix the clock in the laundry room. Since we started with your company the clock has been off and not keeping time. The super tried to put new batteries in it but it didn't work. No surprise that your clock doesn't work!

I have lived in this building for 20 years and we used another company that had excellent machines. We never had any problems with them. I am to say the least very disappointed in your company and would like you to address these problems. Do something about your washing machines or I will stop using your machines altogether and let others know of my bad experiences (there have been many) with your company.

The worse machines on earth! Always a issue with both dryers and washers , company is very quick in sending a check ( if the machine STEALS your money on your card) but it doesn't help at the moment! Super can't help either, so im either stuck with wet clothes or clothes that never washed! Now the card machine doesn't work and been waiting since yesterday for someone so i can put money in my card and wash my laundry! !!! Dryers does not dry well. Spent more money to dry than wash. One small load took over 1 hour and a half yo dry for 75 cents every 15 minutes. This was not just one dryer but several. This is horrible. If it was one dryer we could attribute it to a malfunction but that is not the cases. Both complexes have poor working dryers.

Someone should really investigate this company. The machines do not wash well, constantly eat funds off your card and do not spin properly producing an error code of "unbalanced". With rude agents such as 'Lana' in their customer service dept., it's no wonder the reviews are so horrible. We've only had their machines for a few years and one broke down so often that it had to be replaced. Take the reviews into account and think twice before going into contract with them.

We use them in my building. It's annoying that you have to put money on the card with your phone AND STILL have to add the money by machine once in the laundry room. Because besides having to drag my laundry n soap down. I also have to bring my phone to enter the code into the machine. Also when you refill your card it USED to be automatically on 75 dollars. So while doing my laundry 2 days before xmas, it charged my card 75 dollars. And their only way to rectify is that you mail then your card and then they will mail it back to you. Which is ridiculous. I just left it for future use but definitely wasnt great a few days before xmas. That is still their procedure but they did fix it so when you sign on to refill its automatically on 10 dollars not 75. So theres that.

If I could post 0 stars for Hercules I would. They claim that they respond within 24 hours to any claims that their machines are malfunctioning, and maybe that is the case, but the machines have a bad habit of breaking again the day after they are services . My building got 'brand new' machines from them 2 weeks ago, and since they were installed, there have been 4 service calls of 1-2 machines. They are never all working, and the number we have is insufficient for our building anyway, so being down by 1-2 machines 95% of the time is deadly. When you ask them to do something about this record, they accuse you of lying.

It is very straightforward, purchasing or refilling your laundry card on this website. I like that they show images of each card so you can be sure you are refilling the correct card. It only took me 3-5 minutes to purchase a code, and I simply had to enter the code that I received in the station at the laundry room to add the money onto my card.

The absolute worst laundry experience I've ever had. Card isn't accepted half the time, but deductions are made anyway. It's not hard to design a logic system that refunds if the payment isn't accepted - this is just a horrible combination of negligence and greed on their part.

I used to live in apartment building that used Hercules washers and dryers and my experience was not all that good we had top loading washers at first with quarter operated dryers they constantly were unbalanced the dryers were so old filled with lint and ruined clothes because the lint would attach to sheets and shirts finally after 10 years, they were replaced, with 'modern' washers and dryers that used the card which ripped you off and, the, washers were so dark you could not see how much water if any were inside.. Finally moved, now I go to a laundromat that used real machines shape up Hercules Corp you could corner the market and excel but you need actual working machines and not scam customers.

I would not recommend this service. Many people in our building have been overcharged when trying to add funds to the laundry card. Then it can take weeks to get a refund. Also the credit card machine doesn't provide a receipt.
