Only opened on the weekends to the public. We happened inside without realizing it was closed...
Delicious coffee with cake at a beautiful location. Not too expensive.
A very nice castle. You can sit on the terrace and eat a piece of apple pie there. The staff is very friendly. You cannot visit the castle from the inside, it becomes a B&B.
Nice castle with inn where you can eat and drink Wat lan and in a nice place
At the moment there is a bit of construction going on
Beautiful castle with moat. Imaginative interior. During the tour of more than one hour you get a good impression of medieval life on stand. Free parking. Catering, sanitation and shop available.
Nice and small castle where a lot is told about the history and the area. There are enthusiastic volunteers in every room who are happy to tell you something about the castle. A nice replacement for the tours that cannot take place now
Secretly the most beautiful castle in the Netherlands with Feyn Vermaeck and troubadour Yann Lawick
Harry Potter event within and around this great castle
Nice football club where people work enthusiastically with young people.
Beautifully beautiful and you can spend the night with the Camper for free
Super beautiful, this completes the town of Doornenburg!
Strange. Lots of bird poop on the seats and staff that coffee drinkers want to refuse access with a bicycle. A star because of the location, they will never see me again.
Unfortunately I did not join a tour guide around. There was a market on the Palace Square, but reasonably unattractive. Think a walk around the castle could be a good experience.
Very beautiful castle and beautiful environment. The tour in the castle is a must. The guide (in medieval dress) knew a lot about the life in the castle in the Middle Ages, the history of the families who used to live there and the several times that it had to be restored. and of course some facts about the recordings of Floris that took place there. There are also various things on display.
great place to have a drink or eat. nice to visit castle. separate programs for children. occasional festivities.
We were told that the series Floris would have been recorded here. It is definitely a great location for such a series. What a beautiful castle to have been here.
Very nice to visit and had some history behind it. In order to appreciate the visit a tour guide is a must have.
Very nice historical location for a cozy lunch or even to organize a wedding party, totally TOP .
"Knight's party" very successful last weekend !! Castle tour good.
The Doornenburg Castle was almost completely destroyed during the Second War World. However, some of the places of the old castle are there and now a museum is opening with many medieval objects and a long history to discover. Enjoy a beer just in front of the Castle!!
Beautiful castle with large outer bailey along the Linge. Still quite well intact.
Nice for a stopover with a cup of coffee and some goodies, beautiful location.
Unexpected medieval castle in the middle of nowhere. Destroyes in 1945 but carefully rebuilt in 1965,i think it keeps perfectly all the "original" atmosphere. The court can be visited for free, the main building i dont know. The surroundings as well are worth a nice walk or bike ride. Bello
Very nice receives and volunteers who tell stories about the castle, highly recommended also for children
fun for the little ones but not really for the adults
Very beautiful castle with a fun and educational tour!
Great beautiful event, with beautiful light effects and beautiful appropriate music
Cozy location for a snack and a drink. Can also provide a simple vegan lunch.
Had a wonderful day with a super fun tour through the castle. A really nice day out.
Very nice, a medieval piece was performed, was very original!
Well. Youth sentiment. Floris and Sindela. Nice castle.
After a fantastic tour of the castle, you can have a drink on a terrace.
Very beautiful castle especially the voorburgt with a view
Very friendly staff, in a beautiful setting.
You imagine yourself somewhere else while you are just sitting in beautiful Doornenburg
Had a great tour. Narrated in a good way, fascinating, not too long-winded and with many nice references to daily sayings. It gives a good impression of the time and the castle. Not suitable for the disabled.
Beautiful castle! It consists of a front castle and a main castle, which are connected by a narrow wooden bridge. It is one of the largest and best-preserved castles in the Netherlands. Want to go back again to take a tour. Been alone outside now.
We took the lead. Very informative but unfortunately everything is monolingual in Dutch.
Some of the "guides" were committed to explaining things in English or German.
What you should know, the castle is not original but has been restored and rebuilt several times.
Well worth a visit for children and "knight castles" enthusiasts.
Very nice tour with enthusiastic guide and beautiful restaurant with delicious food and a beautiful terrace under a large tree.
Nice castle. Very fun and educational to take a tour there. In addition, many events to visit.
We have been here because of a potter event. That was a bit disappointing. Much more could have been made of it and we did not think it was right that we had to pay extra money for the castle while we had already paid a lot of entrance.
Lovely in the grass has yet to come with the Grandson
