Guided tour was very informative and gave interesting perspective on Hemingway. Be wary if you are allergic to cats as there is 55 of them on the grounds and in the house. Great to see the house and furniture when Hemingway was alive.

Boring, expensive
Poor trained cats ..
Instead of visiting this place, it is better to watch the sunset for an extra half hour

Interesting historic stop. I'm sure I would have gotten more out of it had I waited for the tour. I would encourage patrons to wait for the tour, but we were limited on time, so we just wandered the house and grounds at our leisure. Glad we stopped in.

I love that the 6 toed cats are so well off! They are literally everywhere on the property, I love it!
I am not a fan of cash only. There is an atm on site, but who in this day and age doesn't take credit cards??

It is not that the United States is rich in historical things to see. The visit of this house is certainly interesting to relive the atmosphere of the Hemingway era. His 6-fingered cats that inhabit the house undisturbed are interesting and strange ...

You can wander around on your own or follow a tour. The cats are well cared for and deal with a lot of people wanting to pet them. I'm amazed at how well behaved they are even when one woman was trying to keep one poor cat from leaving. He never hissed or showed signs of getting upset with her.

Being cat lovers and owners, we love visiting the cats and touring the house. We have brought family and friends here. This is our fourth visit to the Hemingway house. It is worth the money. There is no military discount.

Wonderful tour with information regarding Hemingway's life and work while living in Florida. The cats running around and, seemingly running the house, make for an interesting component of a visit here. The house is kept in very good condition. Any fans of Hemingway's personal life will find this a very worthwhile visit.

The owners of the home should be recognized for realizing the homes historical significance. If you are a fan of Papa's writing this is a must see place of importance. The guides at the facility are very good at walking you through the history of Ernest Hemingway.

Definitely worth visiting! We stopped in with our two children, so I felt like a lot of it would be over their head yet, but the property itself is so beautiful it kept their attention, not to mention the cats at every turn! It was a wonderful experience.

One of the main attractions and a must visit site while in Key West, our tour guide was very informative and made the tour fun. An easy walk for most folks throughout the house we were here a couple years ago while we spent Christmas in the Keys. With public restrooms and a gift shop where Doris purchased a nice painting and a ceramic cat as the many cats on the property are descendants of Hemingway's original cats. The cost at the time was $ 17.50 per person.

Chris gave an impassioned and excellent tour. Learn a bit and he raised a lot of interesting questions about Hemingway's death and a history of concussion, self medication for bipolar disorder and depression

Good tour included in the admission. Kids will like the cats that join the tour and kids can help feed them treats from the guide. The house is interesting especially the stories, the construction (includes a full basement), pool and of course the cats which all have Lost Generation names.

Somewhere, before we walked up to the ticket count...

Somewhere, before we walked up to the ticket counter, perhaps on their website, or Facebook page, or other literature, they should tell customers they don t take credit or debit cards. It s a calculated gambit, because guess what? There is an ATM on premises just for guys like me who are 1500 miles from home and no cash. They got me for an extra $5 for using the ATM. If they don t want to pay the merchant fee for CC transactions, raise the price $5. Other than this unnecessary annoyance, this a 5 star presentation.
