Heliview Review

Perfect Day! Wine tasting by Helicopter, hanging with my new homies, I have to share the day. January 17th, 2020 my last day on a whirlwind trip, this was a last-minute booking. Yolanda worked hard to get me in and make it special, Richard was informative and knowledgeable. The two together were fabulous. The dogs (yes I approved first) were a bonus!

This is not normally the type of thing I would do solo, but I didn't want to go home not experiencing Queensland by Helicopter, not to mention wine-tasting and sight-seeing by jeep. I wasn't sure it was going to work out but when I got the call it was a "go", I couldn't say no.

I don't think this was a routine charter, it felt very customized and unique, we even planned on attending a car show in the early evening. Summertime tours are not often as spectacular as winter and I had already been flying with Glenorchy Flights (see review). I wanted to eat drink wine and see what you don't see if you are a right-handed driver like myself. This was the perfect solution.

I was picked up at my hotel in a new BMW limo and chauffeured to Mt. Rose winery, I chilled with the owner and manager wine-tasting until my heli arrived.

Heliview Flights is a family owned, local business and they work hard to please. Highly recommended!

Myself, my partner and friends went on a flight with Heliview recently. It was a great experience with stunning scenery, specifically the alpine landing. None of us had been in a helicopter before, the flight felt safe and was great fun.

Yolanda and Richard were so professional and so friendly. They picked the day with the best weather for our trip and kept in touch to confirm the booking when they knew what day was the best conditions. Their service was exceptional, their safety procedures made us feel super comfortable and the location they took us to was spectacular. So happy we booked with them and will absolutely be back for another trip!

Breathtaking tour. Words can't describe how stunning the sight was. I would highly recommend it. The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable. Worth every penny! I got to sit at the front which had the best views, but the helicopter is designed to allow all guests a beautiful scenic viewing perspective. Add in the bottle of champagne was an absolute treat!

Jolanda was very accommodating especially considering this was planned very last minute. We didn't get the opportunity to land on the mountains or in the snow as I said, it was all decided & planned very last minute. But none the less, we experienced some spectacular views over & surrounding Cromwell that we will cherish seeing it was our first time in a helicopter as well. I will definitely be recommending Heliview Flights.

I cannot speak highly enough of Jolanda and Richard at Heliview! We did the self-guided heli biking trip from the top of Mount Jackson and it was absolutely stunning. Truely a once-in-a-lifetime activity. The team at heliview are friendly, professional, and very helpful - they even leant us their own backpack when we forgot our own...! I would highly recommend doing a trip with Heliview.

On a holiday for a week and found this company! Absolutely incredible. Both Yolanda and Richard were so welcoming and comforting with a nervous flyer. I turned up in the wrong attire and Yolanda had no problems lending me some more suitable gear to wear. Hot chocolate up the top of the mountain, photos and videos at more than affordable prices! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Excellent experience . We felt very safe. Extremely friendly family who run their business with passion. Up on the mountain we had lots of fun. We ran and jumpped . We recommend this trip to all. Amazing and fun. We loved it. We left our bags in the car and were assured that it is safe. We purchased the video and the photos which were vety reasonably priced ( $50). Overall it was marvelous.

We had a great afternoon mt biking with Jolanda. She made everyone comfortable with different levels of biking experience. They are flexible with the tours and ours included starting high up at Duffers Saddle, descending with great mountain and valley views, a port tasting, Jolanda sharing some knowledge on the gold mining era and ending with a cool off in the lake. Thanks for a great afternoon and we would highly recommend getting in touch with Jolanda and Richard if in Cromwell.

We had a great time with Heli View flights in Cromwell both in the helicopter and on the trails. Feels like you're in Lord of the Rings riding down the ridges back to town.

Richard and Jolanda are such awesome people, friendly and warm. The helicopter flight was incredible alongside being affordable. We saw such stunning views and the hot chocolate on the mountain top was a cherry on the cake. Thank you guys for such a wonderful experience. Also, Richard takes some great pictures. Definitely a trip worth taking and a surprise my husband loved for his upcoming 30th! Thank you guys <3

We had a great afternoon and memories to last a lifetime. It was lovely to meet Richard and Jolanda the owners of Heliview and they are to be commended on the way they operate. Fantastic service both on and off the ground. If you are looking for a flight in this area you will not find better value and service. We will be recommending them to fiends and family.

From start to finish this was just an incredible experience. A wonderful family run operation Jolanda and Richard are both extremely welcoming. The flight itself had my partner Yen and I smiling from ear to ear. Being able to see the rugged South Island landscape via Helicopter is an unforgettable memory. We can't recommend this experience enough. After extensive research we found this to be the best value helicopter experience around Queenstown and the drive to Cromwell was awesome too.

Would recommend for everybody to go for a Helicopter flight on the South Island of New Zealand. A lot of great spots to do that, and Heliview Flights in Cromwell is definitely one of them. Wonderful couple that runs the business, fair prices, complimentary Juice on our flight, the best helicopter i've ever sat in and then the views of stunning New Zealand accompanied by trivia from Richard.
Standing on the landing spot catapulted me a bit into a Lord of the Rings scene.

Richard & Jolanda run a great small business. Their communication was fantastic. The flight was supperb, views fantastic, hot chocolate nice when enjoying the panoramic views during the alpine landing. Would highly recommend this as a trip to do.

My friends and I (group of four) did the 45 minute Cromwell Basin and Alpine landing and it was amazing. Truly one of the best experiences of my life. When you re in the helicopter it feels like everything is an establishing shot for a lord of the rings scene.

Richard the pilot is an encyclopaedia of knowledge, any and all questions we had about the area he always had the answer (and he also didn t laugh at my dumb questions). Also the photos he took were amazing.

Jolanda was fantastic to deal with and book everything with, she was incredibly knowledgeable and personable which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable.

I m so glad we did this experience. I wasn t originally planning on doing a heli tour but this has been the biggest highlight of my trip and I 1000% recommend this to anyone.

What a great experience! I had my first helicopter flight with Richard and it was just amazing! If you book a flight get some warm clothes cause it's getting freezing on the top of the mountain! If I should come to NZ again I will book here again.
