The helicopter tour and the captain were great, not the customer service in the boulder city airport, especially the shuttle organizer who has a rude tone when approached for help. Same kind of rude tone from the orange tag shuttle driver and at the ticket counter too. Papillon needs to train their customer facing folks with some customer service skills and to smile. When refusing help to people, if its refused with a blunt discourteous way, it totally spoils the whole tour experience. I already see some bad reviews in google for their customer service in the airport and Papillon doesn't seem to have acted upon them.

My friend and I had the most amazing helicopter tour of the grand canyon. Tyler, our pilot, was so professional and fun. The entire staff was a joy. This was a thrilling memorable day. One we will never forget.

Helicopter broke down in the Grand Canyon. Never seen the sunset that we paid extra for. It took 4.5 hours to get back to Vegas on a bus. Company gave us $50 back for the trouble. Gee, thanks. I get it things break, but I figured at a minimum they would refund the ride since we only rode for about 40 min. Thanks

Terrible Experience. We paid for a tour over the grand canyon and unbeknownst to us, had up to 24 hours to cancel. We confirmed in advance and then when the winds were over 30 mph, they would not let us cancel. Poor company to deal with. Has no thought for the customer over than the money. Buyer Beware

What can I say....the tour was absolutely amazing!!! our pilot Mike, incredibly skilled and really made me and my girlfriend welcome. Always making sure we were okay making sure we knew all about the area and all the history it had to offer.

This is the company you want to see the Grand Canyon with, truly makes you feel welcome.

Would like to thank everyone and definitely Mike, for making our holiday truly amazing!

Had a good time on "the landing tour" with Deborah as our pilot. No complaints on transportation. Check in was smooth and the lady was nice. Started at about 5am and was back to my hotel in Vegas around 9:15am.

We booked the "private" tour for $ 360 per person, where you land in the canyon and then have some time to explore the area. Exploring is over the top, you can not go anywhere and at 20 minutes you will not get far. The view was of course amazing, at least on the way there. On the return flight one has only been flown over a barren desert.
Pick up from and to the hotel ran smoothly. Unfortunately, you generally feel very much only as a "number" and not as a customer and despite the handsome price. The pilot flew the helicopter also very fast (still safe) which is a pity, but apparently that's the case with the other providers in Vegas.
OK for people who do not have time to drive to the canyon and spend the night there. If you booked the flight, book UNCONDITIONED front seats, otherwise you have nothing from the view from the rear seats.

We booked the helicopter flight combo tour in the Grand Canyon plus rafting in the black canyon. The helicopter flight was a dream. We flew at sunrise. Our pilot Jose was awesome. Arrived in the Grand Canyon (after a flight time of 30 minutes), there was a great champagne breakfast. There was yogurt, orange juice, a muffin and apple slices. Then it went back to the Papillon airfield. Then we were taken by bus to the Hover Dam and from there the rafting tour started. But it was more of a coffee ride. Action = none. We didn't even need life jackets. In addition, the trip went more than 2.5 hours in the blazing sun. So don't forget sun protection and headgear! On the way we were provided with a great lunch box, from which we were allowed to keep the cooler bags as a souvenir. Overall it was a nice day!

What a disappointing experience. A driver at the pick up told that the flight has been cancelled and I have to call them and wait on line to see what's going on.

Had a great tour to the Grand Canyon. We got to land in the bottom of the canyon for our picnic lunch. My Pilot Tom was the best. We had so much fun and took a million pictures. My 14 year old and myself got to sit up front and I can't wait to do again!!!!

Simply put, we were there early in the morning as asked to check in for our flight. When we arrived there were several people at the check in desk and things seemed quite chaotic. When we got to the counter we learned that their computers were down and they couldn't check people in. They also could not give anyone an idea of when they could, they couldn't accept the fact that some people couldn't just wait around and they were distinctly unfriendly and unapologetic about the situation. When the african american man in front insisted on a refund and was told he had to wait until the system was up, he told the agent he was disappointed and had other things planned for the day. He asked to speak to the manager. The manager took him aside away from the counter. at that moment the white lady at the counter (short blond hair) said, under her breath, but very distinctly "the worst swear word that starts with the letter after E, followed by the most horrifying racist slur that starts with the letter after M. I almost came out of my shoes.
Although I was prepared to wait, I no longer cared about the money I had paid. I told them we had other plans, and I would phone later to confirm the refund. They said they couldn't guarantee a refund because of the short notice cancelation.
We went to Maverick helicopters and had a great experience.
Even though they were at fault for not giving us what we paid for at the time we booked
WE DIDN'T GET A REFUND. Don't support racism Don't go Papillon

I booked a Grand Canyon tour and landing back on N...

I booked a Grand Canyon tour and landing back on November 29th for a tour on our ONE full day in Las Vegas on Saturday December 28th. Paid in full at that time. Received emails leading up to it and called to reconfirm the tour and the hotel pickup time more than a day in advance as required. Everything was good to go.

We went down to meet our shuttle and when it arrived the driver got out and told us our flight had been cancelled and he needed to go to the next pickup.

When I asked why or for an explanation he could not give us any and got agitated and rude with us for even asking him to explain further and for asking him to please wait while we called the office for an explanation. He just growled that he had gotten the call from the office on the way to get us and that they told him nothing more than that it was cancelled.

I had received NO phone call, NO email, NO text, NOTHING at all in communication from the company regarding anything to do with cancelling or why.

Once I was able to get someone on the phone all they offered me as an explanation is that the helicopter I requested was not available and that our tour was cancelled. I told her that when I booked the tour , it was not a request for a helicopter I made, just the tour itself. She had no response. I then asked if there was any other helicopter or tour time available. She replied that there was not , they were fully booked. I asked her if all of the bookings for that day were before I had booked and paid for mine in full. She didn't respond. I asked if there was anything she could do or help us with as this was an important part of our trip and a gift as well. All she offered was to reschedule for another day (after New year's ) or to refund our money in full.

Please keep in mind at NO time did SHE offer any detailed explanations, help, offers to make it right, or to do anything at all to make a bad situation any better for us at all, I had to ask all of the questions and rarely got any response.

I asked again how it was possible that I could have booked that far in advance but we were the ones getting cancelled instead of anyone else who had booked more recently . She ignored that completely and asked again if I want to reschedule or get a refund.

I took the refund as our schedule didn't allow for a different day almost a week later and besides that I no longer wanted to give them our business or money.

I would strongly suggest to any one looking to do a tour like this to use ANY other company other than Papillon. I wish I could give negative stars on a review for them, as our entire experience with each staff we interacted with was terrible.

The overall experience was great! The customer service was stellar. Our pilot (Scott - 7am crew) had a great sense of humour and was quite informative. I would highly recommend the early morning tour - less people and quick shuttle service to and from the their location.

We booked the airplane west rim landing tour with ...

We booked the airplane west rim landing tour with Skywalk. From start to finish the logistics of the tour were excellent. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and taken on 30 minute drive to Boulder City airport. Once there we had about a 45 minute wait until the flight, we were given clear instructions as to the boarding procedure. The airplane was a 9 seater aircraft with a front propeller. We did pay $15 to guarantee a window seat, when actually we didn t need to as all seats had a window seat. On the flight there was a headset to give tour advice but didn t use it. The views from the plane were amazing but best to sit on the left hand side of the plane for the views of Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The flight time overall was 30 minutes. Once at the Grand Canyon west rim, we were given clear instructions on how to get around and what time to be back for the flight back. We also received a lunch, which consisted of a turkey roll, pringles, a bag of cookies, sliced apples and water. At west rim, there 3 areas to visit which are accessed via a bus, which stops at each in turn and runs every 10-15 minutes. The first stop is Eagle Point, this is where the Skywalk is. We did pay for the package including the Skywalk. The Skywalk was good but not quite as amazing as we thought it would be. We then went to the second point Guano Point, this is by far the best stop. Here you are able to have a fairly good walk and do some hiking on the rocks. Definitely recommend spending the majority of the time here. The last point, which is the Hualapai Ranch was really not worth the visit - not sure if it s because we were there off season (December) but we wish we had stayed on the bus. We waited about 1 hour for the flight home but we were kept informed of expected departure. Again the flight time was 30 minutes and bus ride back to our hotel 30 minutes. All in all a really good day and a very well organised tour, with friendly and helpful staff.

11-18-2018, I bought tickets to Grand Canyon tour and Hoover Dam tour. Grand Canyon was awesome but we never got our inside lower level Hoover Dam tour. Renovations were being done on the dam but we were not told but sold tickets for it. We were really disappointed. Called Gray Line and Papillon and got transferred several times before putting a complaint in. Hopefully I get a partial refund

This was the best experience. We enjoyed every minute from being picked up in limo style at our hotel to champagne brunch down in the canyon and the guides knowledge of the area. Truely the best thing to do in Las Vegas.

Fantastic experience. We did the "celebration suns...

Fantastic experience. We did the "celebration sunset" ride, which was great. The Grand Canyon is beautiful, and this is a great way to see it. The champagne was a nice touch, the rest of the basket felt a little basic, but you're sitting in the Grand Canyon.

Three big things that will affect your experience: the other people in your helicopter, your seat, and your pilot.

1. The other people: It's a shared aircraft, you'll likely all have headsets so you can talk to each other. If you're with grumpy people, who hate everything it will drag you down a little.

2. Your seat: Not everyone has a window seat. You may end up spending a fair amount of cash to sit in the middle with a tall person in front of you, and someone else to your side at least partially obstructing your window view. That can be frustrating. They may offer you some upgrades or something to try and get you a window seat, but weight distribution is going to take priority.

3. Your pilot. Throw a bunch of strangers together, things can get a little cold, the right person can get everyone excited and keep it moving. Your pilot as spent hundreds of hours learning how to pilot the aircraft safety, and that's their number one concern. Some of the pilots (based on what I'm seeing in reviews) are a bit better at the social aspect than others.

My advice for you: If you can afford this, do it.

My advice for Papilon: spend a bit more on the shuttle service to get nicer drivers and vehicles. You've got a champagne product with Bud-Light service at either end of the flight.

Exciting, exhilarating, once in a lifetime helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon. Loved the limo ride from the Bellagio! Would have been nice to have coffee inside as we ride. Office is clean and staff is very friendly and informative. Our pilot, Tyler, was the best, very knowledgeable and eager to help. The office forgot to send our lunch or champagne glasses.... bummer of a missed champagne glass photo op....but all in all I would use them again. BRAVO

Booked a Grand Canyon Grand Celebration helicopter...

Booked a Grand Canyon Grand Celebration helicopter trip with them today. Their web site says departure from Las Vegas but the truth is, that they fly from Boulder City 26 miles / 40 minutes bus trip from Las Vegas!
Got a middle seat with no possibility at all for taking photos although I was promised a window seat at check-in. The seat was small with little room for my legs (I'm 6'3).
I can't recommend this company. They are cheaper than others but you obviously only get what you pay for. I have used Sundance helicopters before and I regret that I didn't do that for this trip.

This was the best tour experience we have ever had! We had a female pilot from Brazil who was awsome, personable and knowledgeable. Everyone was kind. Highly recommend spending the extra money to land in the canyon because that is what made the experience soooo awsome!!

Really good! We booked the Grand Canyon Tour with landing in the Canyon in advance through the website. Since we did not live on the Strip but in the Golden Nugget, we were picked up directly at the hotel with a smaller bus, then switched to a larger bus and then drove directly to the airfield in Boulder City. There, all of the big bus were divided into about 8-10 smaller groups with a maximum of 6 people, got to know our pilot and off we went. Incredible views, interesting information from the pilot and then the landing in the middle of the canyon! There was a snack including champagne! :-) By the way, the other helicopters are also landing there. So it's not really "private" - but that does not matter with the view and the size of the canyon. After 30 minutes we went back and with a big bus back to the Vegas Strip. Top! It was really fun and everything went smoothly.

We took the airplane + helicopter tour from LV to South Rim. If you're visiting for the first time and are not a trekking fan - awesome tour! We flew for about an hour there and then immediately did the helicopter tour. On both parts the sights were amazing and the organisation great. After that we had lunch/sandwitch as part of the tour on the go, and a visit to one of the view point of the canyon for about an hour. Enough time to see, buy a souvenir and get plenty photos :) our trip was in Jan so was a bit cold but not too bad and definitely not too crowded which is my choice always! Papillon tours were an awesome tour for us!

We had a fantastic ride and would highly recommend this company for the trip into the Grand Canyon. Grace was our pilot and was very experienced. This was our friends first time with a helicopter ride but the ride was so smooth and Grace put them at easy. She narrated the tour perfectly. Thank you Grace for making the flight the highlight of our trip.

We paid $600 for what we thought was a helicopter tour and a boat ride down the river of the West Rim. However what we got was a 5 minute Helicopter ride just to drop us off at the boat which took us 1 mile down the river and back. After the 1 mile, it was around 1 corner and you couldn t see anymore than what you could see at the start of the boat ride. Waste of our money. We would have rather sat in the Helicopter for 45 minutes and not touch the ground which would have cost less.
The people and the service we got was great! Just felt mislead and the experience was not worth $600.

It was amazing. Levin was our pilot and he was the absolute best! He was extremely professional, kept his mask on the whole flight and gave great commentary and information during the flight. He took our photos once we landed in the Grand Canyon, and helped us all get back in the helicopter to leave again. The ride was smooth and we all felt very safe. If you want a great ride, ask for Levin! Totally worth it.
