My 11yo spent a week at peewee select camp. He loved it. He said the food was good (unprompted and he typically complains abt food). The camp is well organized around hockey/ice time. Getting there is not trivial but it is a great location to spend some time in the the heat of summer. We will be back next year

my son has attended this camp for 6 years-Squirt to High school. over the years he's learned a lot, worked hard, met kids from all over the world, and had so much fun!!! gets better every year. All the coaches are great. Steve is so good with the kids. Steve and Sandy and the whole team are very easy to work with and responsive to questions/concerns. 4 hours of ice time daily, with dryland, power shooting, strength training and this year they even did yoga.

Buyer beware, they have an absolutely no refund policy. Even when THEY canceled our hockey camp, they refused to return the down payment for our 3 kids. Now we get to file suit in small claims court. Participated in numerous camps around the country with our 5 hockey playing kids, never had such a poor experience. Horrible business practices without an ounce of care for customers or players. So sad.

I have read all the reviews and some of them i think are crazy! My son went here the summer of 2016 and he had a blast. He is already looking forward to 2017 when he can go again.
When going to drop him off the staff was very friendly and very helpful with us being new to the camp we had no idea how to check him in and where to go, but they have some one walk around with you to get all checked in if that is what you need. We did. Then 2 days into it i got a phone call that he was "home sick" and wanted to come home! we were not letting that one fly even tho we live in MN and it would have been a 2 hour drive for us - we did make him tough it out and by Saturday when we drove up to pick him up to finally come home he did not want to leave.

As a worried mom that I am while he was up there i was reading all the different reviews, checking the Facebook page and also the weather for the area. They were getting hit pretty hard with storms over and over again while he was up there so i was worried about that as well as the "food". The reason the food was a concern is I was reading that they do not feed the kids that much and they do not get 2nd until the staff has ate as well.

After picking up my son i had asked him about the food, bedding and the attitudes from the staff. He said that the food is better than any buffet he has ever been to! and that they never told a child when they could not have 2nd. As for the bedding goes he said that they are not like the bed that he has at home. (but if you think that this is a 5 star hotel you have something coming to you). He said that the staff was wonderful and very helpful! and he wants to go back again next year so it could not have been that bad if he wants to go again it cannot be that bad!

If you are looking for a Hockey camp to send your child to i would recommend this one! This one is one of the top 5 camps in the WORLD and we did not know this when we signed up. - i promise you this will be one of the best childhood memories that they will look back on and be glad that they attented

The adult camp experience exceeded all of my expectations and hopes. The quality and professionalism of coaching dedicated to our program was outstanding. Steve at Heartland made an extra effort to meet, greet, and interact with every camper throughout the week making each individual feel recognized and valued. Attention is given not only to the on ice experience, but also the active recovery needs of the veteran athlete. Intense on ice sessions are supported through a nutritious and well thought out meal plan along with physical therapy support personnel and rest time. No corners were cut just because we are beyond recruiting age, I felt the expectations were as high or higher for the adult session. The fun activities integrated throughout the week also provided learning opportunities for team building and problem resolution. I recommend Heartland to everyone I meet. This is not just another camp, this is a community of passionate people with a common love for hockey.

This is pretty laid back and well run camp. Kids have super busy schedule but so much fun! 4hours on ice daily plus additional dry land training. There is time left for some lake fun. The lake set up is great with private beach and tons of toys.
Parents can hang out and watch as much or as little as they like.
All the staff was friendly, helpfull and chilled.
Final game was really fun to watch and my son really enjoyed playing a 'real game' with introductions, announcers, lights and replays.

Awesome...great experience.. if you want to send your hockey kid to a camp this us the place. They have been doing it 35 years..that says a lot by itself..experienced coaching staff..medical staff on site.. bunk dorm rooms.. organized..great staff. Not only hockey..they have fishing, canoeing, other lakeside activities, minigolf, puck shooting area. Took just over 2 hours from Minneapolis airport. Checked kids in and they were off on their own. Very excited for them to have this experience.

My grandson, Jaymeson has attended Heartland Hockey Camp for 9 years. This is the one week he looks forward to each summer. Steve is easy to communicate with via phone, text or email. He answers questions in a timely manner. The coaching staff is first rated, knowledgeable and is there to improve hockey skills, build leadership skills and provide mentorship to campers. Jaymeson has benefited each year he has attended. He has made good friends nationwide and from a few other countries he keeps in contact with throughout the years. The camp provides a structured training schedule that is balanced with fun, swimming, fishing and miniature golf to name a few other opportunities at camp. There are also opportunities for private lessons on specific skill development. I would highly recommend this camp to any parent who is looking for a well rounded, skill building experience for their child who loves the game of hockey.

My son attended Heartland hockey camp (Squirt Select) first time in July 2016. We loved that camp!
The training is very well organized. The kid's days are structured in smart way - good balance between ice / dry land time and recreational activities. The training is very intense, but majority of kids loved it and worked hard. All coaches have "breathtaking" skills and passion for hockey. No kid was left behind - all received coaches attention and help.
I loved the speech Steve Jensen gave to the kids on first day. The message was clear - stay safe, work hard, respect rules, coaches, campers and everybody and everything around. Steve was always at the camp and involved in camper's life and training.
Kids spent a lot of time on the lake and had a blast jumping, sliding, climbing, swimming and riding on the banana boat. Water in the lake was clean and warm.
We are coming to camp in 2017 and look forward for it.
P.S. Do not expect a luxury accommodation. The living conditions are decent, but it is a camp (not five star hotel) in the beautiful Middle of Nowhere.

This is the place to go if you want top notch skills training and an experience your kids will never forget. The coaches are second to none. The program Coach Steve has put together is perfect. Each day, there are two two-hour ice sessions, dry land training, power shooting, workouts, and classroom time. Your kids will be videoed and will get the opportunity to see their form side-by-side with an example of perfect form on the screen. Your kids will recieve good advice for thier hockey career and for life in general. The camp facility has a dedicated weight room, power shooting range, roller rink, mini golf, and lake with all the best lake toys and boats. There is even a dedicated pontoon boat driver to take your kids fishing during thier rec times. We travel half way across the country to attend this camp and it is completely worth the effort and cost.

Ok this might get a little long. First and foremost Mr. Steve Jensen has done a marvelous job putting this camp together for hockey players of all ages. My son who is a mite is having a great time and the coaches are great working with him. My other son who is a squirt is also having a great time. He has done a great job listening to the coaches. The facilities are great, lots of different workout equipment, the ice arena is great. There is putt putt for down time of if you are just staying with your child and you let them do their thing on and off the ice. The coaches are very mindful of how many kids they should have in each session. If you come with your child and you stay on camp the food is wonderful. Steve's wife is an awesome chef and is great with putting together food choices for the campers. In closing, it is a wonderful camp for your hockey needs!

My 7 year old son has attended a few camps throughout the last couple years and attended Heartland for his first time this past week for the Mite/Squirt camp. He was just a day camper since we live in the area so was dropped off each morning and picked up each night but LOOOOOVED it! He made so many friends, learned so many new skills, loved the coaches, helpers and everyone he met. He said the food was amazing, the extracurricular activities were awesome (swimming, golfing, bon fires, etc) and is already looking forward to attending again next year! We will definitely be putting this one as the frontrunner!

My daughter has attended several camps, and greatly enjoys the other girls, coaches....and Coach Steve Jensen!!! He puts on one of the best camps in the US. Facilities are truly awesome, and each year he adds something new to the camp, to make the training even more spectacular. He also adds new items to the lake, which the kids greatly enjoy.

Not only did my son attend the goalie week, I too went on Ice with him as a goalie. We learned so much in such a short period of time. The coaches/instructors were all amazing and not only knew how to play knew how to teach/coach. There can be a big difference between playing and being able teach/coach.
Off ice, I have never seen a large group of kids all get along and work so well together. Steve sets this expectation the first day and does not tolerate anything but team work and supporting each other.
Not only did the kids make friends, a number of parents stay the week and don't go on ice. I meet some of the nicest parents and developed friendships myself. Newer to hockey, I learn so much from the parents I meet and stay in contact with some of them.
My son had a great week and I had a great week, felt like I was a kid myself.
This was definitely worth the money and taking a week off. Will be back next year.
