I came here in 2011. I can't speak for how it is now but I got a lot out of it and it was a Very quick course. I wanna say I paid around $1100ish? I worked retail before this and it took a while to get the state license (MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS ASAP! It takes months before it's completed!) and the difference in pay and environment makes it worth it.
The course itself was easy And quick but the job hunt is the hardest. No one wants to hire new people. But I made $10 working retail and now I find jobs starting at $17. My first phleb job was at a plasma donation center Making like $13. now I make $17. Unfortunately I haven't gotten a raise since then cuz I work for a cheap company but if you have trouble getting your foot in the door, I'd honestly suggest working out of state for like 6 months (where they don't care about experience). After I got that hospital experience I came back to CA and made way more money.
Still though, I'm looking for another job, hoping that I can move up from $17. I've heard there are a lot of places who pay over $20. You'll get there.
But anyway, If all you want is a quick course for a solid medical career, this was a great place to do it.

You have to wait a long time to do your hours,once you get placed on a clinic they don't let you practice.they just sign the paper that you had already completed everything.hcs knows this I told them but they didn't do anything about it.
Not to mention that there's a dog walking inside the classroom at all times.(instructors dog).before they get your money they are friendly after you pay is all the opposite..

This school is a scam. They took $1200 from me and never rendered services I paid for. It's always an excuse for why the class hasn't started. And trying to get your money back on your own is impossible. You need a lawyer to get your money back. Rose Smalls needs to be arrested for fraud and theft.

Director of the program, Rose Smalls, is very rude. Very careless. She is like two-face. Nice and will act like you're getting an education in the very beginning but the moment you place your deposit. That is it. Whatever issue you are experiencing she will not assist. Especially if you are in need of help, experiencing trouble and discrimination. Whatever internship you are placed in, you are required to get hours and hands on experience. In my case, I was getting hours, just no hands on experience and no matter how many times you complain or ask for help, she will not listen, will not care, and will rub the fine print of "NO REFUNDS". Although you are getting somewhat a bargain here, PLEASE, DO NOT sign up for their class. I've spent merely over $1200, and the lack of professionalism was just terrible. Once again, she aims for your money NOT for your interest in becoming a future phlebotomist. I advise to go to a better program with better protocols, procedures, and better understandings. Better programs may offer slightly more, but at least you will be getting better service, treatment, professionalism, and a better education elsewhere. Also on the side the note, if you are a beginner like myself who knows nothing about the medical field and wants to show a very strong interest in becoming a phlebotomist, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. The instructors there teach at an advance as if you are already in year 3-4 in the medical field. Don't give her your money. Save yourself from the trouble and go to a better, more professional program where you can get the assitance needed for future goals.
Great instructor when I was there and when I email them they always get back to you even after you have left for years. Four stars because it does take a while to get placed. Although they walk you through everything?
