Food was nice, place is cosy, beer is good, cider offering is amazing... So, what went wrong? The cook took about an hour to come with the food, and then found out she had forgotten one of the dishes, so it took even longer to fulfill the order. And after that, not only she didn't apologize, but it looked as if it was my fault that she had forgotten about it. Simple thing to hugely improve.

Great real traditional pub. Lovely atmosphere and drinks reasonable prices for Cambridge. Staff were friendly. Didn't try the food but am told by several friends that the pizzas are very good as they have their own pizza oven. Other food also available.

Great athentic pub with a very local vibe. We have been there just by chance to meet some friends but we have been very positively impressed .

We went for a pizza, quite unusual choice for a pub, but we are Italians and we can't resist. It was great, likely among the best Italian style pizza you can have in Cambridge.

They have an good selection of locally brewed "warm" beers and imported beers, both on tap and bottle.

Nice atmosphere, decent beer and food. The toilets are not great tho and feel like they need a good clean. Why can't the toilet roll be placed in the holders rather than put on the floor where everyone walks?
Updated to 4 stars - November 2019 - Toilet roll now in holders on walls - fantastic. Thank you for sorting :-)

I have been going here from time to time for years as it's very close to my work. Unfortunate, really. Staff are often very rude. They only have one lager available, which is foul and gives everyone headaches. Most of the ales are from Milton brewery and are pretty mediocre. The only bright spot is the pizza, which is actually really good, but has given several people food poisoning over the years so tread with caution...

I have recently moved back to Cambridge and remembered this pub as right dump; us taxi drivers refered to it as the zoo because it was alwsys full of drunken animals. Now though, after being persuaded to give it another try I am very impressed. The staff and management are all really great people, the pub is clean and friendly and MOST importantly, the cider is excelllent! Please do give this pub a visit; you will not regret it.

This is a cozy little place tucked away in the heart of Chesterton, and while the drinks options were plenty and great, the real stars of the night were the Pizzas. Very similar to pizzas that I've eaten in Italy - I'm not Italian but they tasted just as good. My favourite has to be the Caramelata pizza, goats cheese, caramelised onions, it's an absolute delight.

I must also say, out of all the pubs I've been to, the drink that stood out was actually a non-alcoholic one: coca cola (on tap) - the ratio of syrup to soda water was on point - a feat that is very difficult to acheive.
Yeah the beer and ciders are amazing too, but it's really the coke I'm coming back for!
