I'm always very happy here. Never a threatening place and I would be quite happy to go into the Haymakers on my own and find someone to talk to.

Friendly local pub, good quiz night every second Monday, good food and range if beers and ciders
Andy and the other bar staff are lovely. We wish everyone was like this.
Good Pub with one of the best pizzas in Cambridge (!!! I know but is true) BUT, and this is a massive BUT, with very RUDE staff... actually their attitude stinks in all levels. Bottom line quite disappoint place with bitter after-taste.
A little more expensive, but do have some great local ciders..
An excellent public house with good food and an excellent range of beers - also an ingress meet up
Food was nice, place is cosy, beer is good, cider offering is amazing... So, what went wrong? The cook took about an hour to come with the food, and then found out she had forgotten one of the dishes, so it took even longer to fulfill the order. And after that, not only she didn't apologize, but it looked as if it was my fault that she had forgotten about it. Simple thing to hugely improve.
First time back since lockdown was lifted. Pizza and beer have lost nothing of their quality. We sat inside where the individual booths work well in a Corona world.
Chilled atmosphere, genuine Italian pizza and a great range of ciders
Great real traditional pub. Lovely atmosphere and drinks reasonable prices for Cambridge. Staff were friendly. Didn't try the food but am told by several friends that the pizzas are very good as they have their own pizza oven. Other food also available.
Best real ale pub in Chesterton area, nice atmosphere, sometimes friendly staff
One of the better pubs in the area. Would like to rate it higher, but when there are mistakes in the kitchen, the service suddenly becomes terrible.
This pub has a great selection of real ale and excellent pizza
A Camra favourite albeit choice is all Milton Brewery, owned by MB.
Good food range
A very pleasant experience friendly staff and locals very good genuine home made food.
High expectations of the refurbished kitchens. Disappointment. The Spinach and mushroom lasagne overpriced and uninspiring. Only enjoyed the chips.
Always the favourite local. The chef's pizzas are great.
Very nice pub, with a good selection of ale, gin, and cider
Excellent pizzas and beer is ok too, gets very busy though has lovely outside seating, in the summer :-)
Laid back and relaxed. Amazing pizza, local beers & ales. Well priced.
Great athentic pub with a very local vibe. We have been there just by chance to meet some friends but we have been very positively impressed .
We went for a pizza, quite unusual choice for a pub, but we are Italians and we can't resist. It was great, likely among the best Italian style pizza you can have in Cambridge.
They have an good selection of locally brewed "warm" beers and imported beers, both on tap and bottle.
Traditional pub with great beers and really good no nonsense food.
Excellent staff. Very helpful.& friendly.I have always enjoyed visiting this pub.
Pizzas are consistently good. I very much like some of the recent changes (one being no background music) which for me have improved the place enormously.
Good beer. Sensibly priced. Nice pizza. Staff knowledgeable and efficient. I like it.
Great pizza, well kept beer, relaxed child and pet friendly atmosphere.
Nice gastro pub with excellent pizza and other good with a twist
Good range of beers and good food in a spacious and comfortable environment.
Nice atmosphere, decent beer and food. The toilets are not great tho and feel like they need a good clean. Why can't the toilet roll be placed in the holders rather than put on the floor where everyone walks?
Updated to 4 stars - November 2019 - Toilet roll now in holders on walls - fantastic. Thank you for sorting :-)
Brilliant place. International atmosphere. And just round the corner from my home, so ideal.
Milton brewery pub with a sideline in whiskey and gin. Serves a variety of pizzas and and so.e other public classics - fish and chips, burgers.
I have been going here from time to time for years as it's very close to my work. Unfortunate, really. Staff are often very rude. They only have one lager available, which is foul and gives everyone headaches. Most of the ales are from Milton brewery and are pretty mediocre. The only bright spot is the pizza, which is actually really good, but has given several people food poisoning over the years so tread with caution...
ok pub, full of stidents and real ales. No chain beers
Nice choice of beers and beers from local Milton brewery. Pizzas are really good too. There is a big beer garden behind where you can enjoy the sun until late on the afternoon. Dogs are welcome.
Cracking pub, great pizza, friendly but not too rowdy. Welcoming to all!
If you like exceptional ale in a relaxed friendly pub. Drink here. (Pizzas are rather good too!)
Very popular place, but the beer choice is a bit disappointing.
Great pizza and chips. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would Google recommend visiting
Great little pub, but limited seating, so not great for busy nights (i.e. Friday + Saturday). You can book tables, but not on Friday evenings.
Good pizza, kudos to the chef! Choice of beers on the tap is also very decent.
Excellent establishment. Great beer and pizza. The land lady is very welcoming. Also you can pay with bitcoin!
I have recently moved back to Cambridge and remembered this pub as right dump; us taxi drivers refered to it as the zoo because it was alwsys full of drunken animals. Now though, after being persuaded to give it another try I am very impressed. The staff and management are all really great people, the pub is clean and friendly and MOST importantly, the cider is excelllent! Please do give this pub a visit; you will not regret it.
This pub has changed for the better since the days of my youth. Great ales and just a lovely place to have a drink
Was there for the quiz, very good happy atmosphere.
Good selection of beers. Good food that arrives promptly. Garden & lots of bike racks
Nice food and drinks
Good enviroment in general
Excellent pub. Great choice of ales. Great live music. Very friendly staff
This is a cozy little place tucked away in the heart of Chesterton, and while the drinks options were plenty and great, the real stars of the night were the Pizzas. Very similar to pizzas that I've eaten in Italy - I'm not Italian but they tasted just as good. My favourite has to be the Caramelata pizza, goats cheese, caramelised onions, it's an absolute delight.
I must also say, out of all the pubs I've been to, the drink that stood out was actually a non-alcoholic one: coca cola (on tap) - the ratio of syrup to soda water was on point - a feat that is very difficult to acheive.
Yeah the beer and ciders are amazing too, but it's really the coke I'm coming back for!
A good choice slightly out of the centre. Parking is easy. Spacious. Good service. Didn't try the food.
Fantastic service great welcome friendly lively pub lasagne great
Great food and drink but too crowded on a friday night
Cool local with interesting local beer and a nice food menu
Best beer in town, best pizzas in town, chill setting - what else is there to say?
Great pizzas and burgers combined with good service.
Excellent pizza, great beer and wine. What's not to like?
Regularly changing selection of great ales, amazing pizzas and really great staff. Very chilled out and welcoming.
