Hayes Garden World Ltd Review

Plenty of different items in that are different and unique always seem to get lovely things for the greatgrand children which they always ask where I get them from

Probably one of the best gardens centres that we have ever been to - we were on holiday and went twice!

I used the cafe and the staff have everything in hand with the covid restrictions, they took us to our table and looked after us with a smile. A very pleasant time spent in there

After visiting this store as we always have done when visiting the Lakes my husband and I were very disappointed!! And have to agree with the majority of the recent reviews posted. This is such a shame as it has always been a shop we enjoyed visiting but today we couldn't wait to get out ! I truly understand we are trying to live with Covid .. I have worked all the way through it being a manager in a retail store but found the whole experience awful to say the least. The car park that is closed isn't needed as there isn't enough people visiting to queue outside, we found out why when we got in the store. We didn't see all the store as it was like a maze.. We will not be returning anytime soon : -(((

A lot of stuff over priced can get cheaper at other stores

Wonderful gardening centre. Easy to get to and well signposted. Lots of parking spaces. Nice Cafe and shops. Wish it was nearer home would visit often.

A very nice place to spend an hour or two wandering around, Sunday roast with trimmings very nice. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They have a children's fairies and dragons section but I couldn't comment as forgot the kids.

If toy can't find something in Ambleside

**Update** my pergola finally arrived and I have to say I'm impressed. Shame they couldn't get it right though after all the trouble I had....still missing a curtain pack!..to be continued......If you want to order online I would steer well More

What can I say! It's in the Lake District, it has everything for man, woman, child and pet. The best things are the special events they have on in summer, Halloween and Christmas. My children love it and the staff are warm and friendly.

Always good to have a wander through. Cheese scones and flapjack are the best I have tasted!

A big garden centre but the quality of plants don't reflect the high price compared to other lake district garden centres/nurseries...it does however offer great parking and facilities...the bbq shop would be good if you wanted a new webber with all accessories...apart from that...meh

We like coming here ..we come to the lakes 3 times a year and spend a lot of time and money here ..the restaraunt has a good choice the salads which I eat a lot of are lovely and fresh ..we will be returning again in March

It's a really handy place.. though certainly not the cheapest.. it even has an Edinburgh woollen mills shop and other gifts.. only place I would say is better is Halecat over by Grange

This place is massive - seems to never end.
Range of goods is unbelievable and prices seem reasonable.

Not so enamoured with Hayes this visit. As always, my main interest is the BBQ dept which was unstaffed and felt dark & cold, I would have thought weekends would be their busier days and they'd have someone there. Restaurant tables clearly arranged for more people than comfort, interesting challenge with the table behind us getting in & out of the chairs.

Very large garden centre... a real treat for everyone!

went to the santas grotto....really good...every year...the events thet do are mega if youve got children...in regards to buying goods...the place is a bit over priced in my opinion

Well set out Garden Centre, the biggest let down is it's cafe.

Sale was on, got some excellent bargains on Christmas items. Staff helpful and friendly

It's massive!
Plenty of choice and reasonably priced plants etc.
An array of garden furniture and barbecues. Water features and building materials (to orders) for follies and old ruins. Fish and pet products. Various outlets. A delightful area for children (dragons and fairies). Coffee shop and not forgetting the restaurant upstairs with a terrace. Food was plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced.
Well worth a visit.

Fantastic place to visit that s so much more than a garden centre.

Hayes has an excellent selection of plants, shrubs and trees, when we are struggling to find something specific you can normally count on Hayes having it in stock. In addition to this there s a large selection of home wares, children s toys, gifts, pet supplies and even a dedicated BBQ department!

When Hays really shines though is at Christmas - their Christmas selection has to be one of the best in Cumbria. If you visit from late October onwards you ll find a mind boggling selection of superb Christmas products.

The on site cafe is also rather good and not too badly priced given it s location in such a tourist hotspot.

Free parking whilst visiting Hayes is just the icing on the cake.

Nothing much to say as it's all been said before...expensive but to be expected where it's tourism led....never the less well worth a visit and there is a huge stock.

Lovely garden centre quite big with cafe and coffee bar. Free parking if you are visiting the centre.

Nice as always but far too expensive on lots of goods. Always enjoy the walk round though but feel they need to lower their prices as feel the customer is paying for their extentions.

We were overwhelmed at how professional Santas Grotto is, it s like something from a Hollywood film set.

Visited the fairy and dragon world inside Hayes garden world, was beautiful and so much fun for the little ones. Staff were friendly and made experience even better. Worth a visit, garden centre is lovely too.

Great garden centre. Lots of different departments with a huge range of items. Good play area for kids. Had a tasty breakfast in their restaurant. It's worth going up to the restaurant just to see the amazing stain glass window they have. Great place!

Very big garden centre with every you would expect and more. Excellent cafe with roof top terrace. Plus free parking in Ambleside! Winner winner chicken dinner, except mine was a bacon and cheese toastie!

First time visiting today, really great selection. Kids loved it. The guys who served us in the cafe and when leaving were really friendly. Terrace outside was really lovely, with great views. Will go again when in the area :)

Visited Hayes today and wow. This must be the best garden centre/restaurant/inspiring centre in the UK. Prices are good, choice is immense and all ready to take away. Staff very helpful and courteous. Definitely recommend a visit but set aside a good few hours...it's immense.

I think it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen in England. Too bad the restaurant closes at 2.30pm. I recommend going there absolutely
