Although I was there a year ago, I was back through I forgot my phone. I t was just as good as last year, maybe better. In my opinion I'd say, it's one of the best if not the best garden centre, I know of It's spacious, well organized and has everything you need. My passion is cactus plant's Dangerous but beautiful, plus easy to keep My love affair, started,in Glasgow, Botanical Gardens, when young, I used to dog school and spend all day,as there was so much to see . Of coarse, they also had Koa Carp, much like Hayes. Trust me though, I guarantee you'll be hard pushed to walk out empty handed

I cant believe that this so called Garden centre does NOT allow dogs.!! This is a very unusual tactic not just because of how dog friendly the Lake district is in general but because Garden centres allow dogs. Not to mention how rude the staff were at the front door..i can't imagine in this day and age why they would think its a good policy to abandon your dog tied up outside??? Poor Shop...very poor avoid.

Where do I begin. One of us entered earlier than the others and said they would not need a basket and also thought about reducing covid risks due to touching fewer things, however was forced to take a basket by the careless member of staff that was at the door and was downright rude. The rest of our group entered a couple of minutes later and we explained that the other person in our group had already taken a basket and therefore we would not need one. We were however, still forced to take a basket. Not all the members of staff were clueless, the woman in the cotswold outdoor basement was very kind and helpful. We then made for the exit, leaving one of us to buy her shoes, the only thing being purchased. The one way system is as much to force people to walk around the whole store rather than reduce covid risks, then the exit was not at all marked and we had to ask a member of staff where it was. Once we reached the exit we passed the queuing people, explaining to them that we were not buying anything, they let us passed but upon reaching the member of staff at the exit we said we were not buying anything, he told us that we still had to queue, this was utterly pointless and does not allow people to exit quickly. We rejoined the queue and met another person having all the same problems as us. When we asked the staff member why we needed to wait in a queue he said he cant let us through because there is not a till free. There was nobody at the till, so we then said give me a technical reason we cannot leave, and we were allowed to walk through the empty till. Stupid shop, go to blacks.

No dogs allowed.....the only garden centre I know that has this out dated and uncaring policy. When I asked a member of staff why I couldn't take my dog inside his very rude and blunt answer was 'because you can't. This is definitely one place I will not recommend or visit again.

We visited to buy some slate sheep,
On arrival we were asked to wait at the door so that the staff could inform us of the new shopping rules, this was explained and then we were allowed to enter and shop.
We went straight to the area where the slate sheep were kept, picked up what we wanted and headed to the tills to pay, staff were very friendly and polite as usual, it is a very different shopping experience but under current circumstances it has to be.
If we were to have one concern it would be the fact that the toilets are not open to visiting public, some may find this a bit difficult especially if they are disabled or have a problem with their water works, my partner has this problem which meant we couldn't browse like we would normally do, which is disappointing as I would normally pick up bits and pieces for Christmas presents.
This is not a complaint by any means, just a concern.
