Horseracing is awesome. The people are very friendly and helpful. Great place to go!

Sad that this place is a shadow of its former self.

Went for a bully show (dogs) very nice place was very happy and would go to a event there again

don't like paying $2.00 t0 get in for 7th race simulcast.

Loved the venue, had a great time. Would have given 5 stars, but my drink order was wrong twice (I ordered gin and tonics, but whatever it was that I drank, they were not gin and tonics). Also, the draft beer options are pathetic. Bud, Lite, Coors Light, and MGD (I didn't even know they still made MGD). How about draft beer with hops? Loved the track, and how easy it was to bet, but the bar needs work. Needs variety, and for God's sake, learn what tonic water is.

Great place to enjoy a summer evening with friends. Inexpensive and fun!

Sportsman s, Maywood, & Balmoral are all gone now. It s just Hawthorne & Arlington. There was a time you could go to the runners in the afternoon and the trotters in the evening. 7 days a week 10 months a year and the trotters all year. Horse Racing in IL is on life support now. It s really sad.

Had an amazing time for my 30th high school reunion.

It's a huge place that is a throwback to the yesteryear of horse racing. It looks and feels like how going to the track was in the late 70's or 80's. The place needs to be updated and cleaned up. The bathrooms were filthy and the place could be a little cleaner. I didn't try the food as the place and the look of the kitchen kept me away. If a place looks like this how good can the food really be.

As far as betting and affordability it gets better. Beer prices are very good, reserving a table or booth is very easy and cheap. The tables on the main concourse have a $20min of food and beverage service and a day at the track will certainly hit that mark. Great amount of large screen tv's plenty of machines but they also are old but still you don't have to wait in line to place a bet or check your ticket.

The people taking the bets are very friendly and helpful and were funny and made it fun to place a bet so great window service. Our waiter for our table did not come by often but the bars were easy to walk up to and just order a round of drinks very quickly.

As far as watching the races, plenty of TV's a nice upper deck and a nice paddock however the railing is a little high and actual road dividers as the wall you cannot huge the railing like you can at Arlington or other horse racing tracks.

If you are regular guy who is just going for the racing and you are there for betting the horses rather than playing Kentucky derby dress up day then this is your place. A no thrills horse racing place and not a fancy joint at all but a easy place to have affordable fun then this is it.

So with that in mind probably a 4 star place but since it's old school decor and cleanness and clientele of the people it's a 3.

I am very sad for horses in the race. Food buffet was ok.

It is a good place but there is something that I do not understand because if they let us live with children here because we can not enter with a car I say because sometimes the weather is very cold for the children to give us a disgraced permit for those of us with small children

Really awesome to see it live. It's a good race course. Great burgers. A lot of fun in a group. Prettiest in the summer time.

Needs an update on their bathrooms and inside. Love how close you can get to the horses too. Their staff are always friendly and helpful.

Whether you go to watch the Kentucky Derby remotely, or with a group to watch the local horse races, Hawthorne Race Course is a always a great time!

Ok it's appears to be the same no make over that I can see

I loved x that apart from Horse Racing there were children puppies riding inflatable horses and carts
