Great place to stay with a picture perfect view direct from the room to the magic Alps. The room was very clean and nice, and the hospitality of Tracy and James is excellent. Really close to everything from ski lifts at winter to nice hiking routes.

We recently stayed at this lovely chalet, the family who own this are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. It genuinely felt like staying with family, it was warm, relaxed, clean, safe and we will certainly be staying here again, thank you Lynnette and Brijesh Patel

The most beautiful place ever.In the middle of the Alps.

James is the perfect host, fun friendly and a good laugh! Coming back from a second time this year and cannot wait! Fantastic resorts on your door step, hire car is best to explore all the fab resorts and things to do! And only an hour from Salzburg !

Fantastic guest house in the heart of Altenmarkt with beautiful scenery. Highly recommend staying here. James was welcoming and extremely helpful. Will definitely be back!

This place is awesome! What can I say, I stayed here with a large group of my snowboarding friends and The chalet is clean and comfortable with an amazing vibe! James and his family are truly brilliant hosts and couldn t do enough for us! Genuinely can t wait to go back and stay with these guys again! Truly great people and accommodation top job!

Top hospitality! We were welcomed by James at our arrival. Clean and nice rooms, with beautiful view. Delicious and fresh breakfast, good equiped kitchen. We definitively recommend It!

My favourite place. I always choose to stay there with my friends during our winter/summer trips. Quiet area but not far from ski slopes or hiking trails. Rooms are clean and have all necessary facilities. Great, hosts! James and Tracy, are so friendly and easygoing and have such positive attitude that it makes you come back there.

Really easy stay here.
James and the fam were proactive. No need for prior research, they knew everything about the area , had suggestions for everything from nice runs and when, to challenging off piste areas, to lively apres ski.
You could see as much or as little of them as you liked. Everything was clean and taken care of, and your hosts weren't scared of going the extra mile for special requests.

Stayed here for a week of snowboarding with my son. James and Tracey couldn t do enough for us, rooms were spotless and warm. If you needed anything they would do there best to get it for you. A fantastic stay. Definitely going back again.

The hostel is perfect, comfortable, clean, affordable, close to a ski lift distance, great selection for breakfast, plenty of entertainment. James is an incredibly accommodating host helping us out with information, lifts, equipment hire and loads of other stuff. Five stars, highly recommended!

Great location, superb hospitality...totally awesome!

Our long weekend spent at Haus Kienreich was highly enjoyable. Hosts were warm and welcoming, James was so friendly, spending time with us and showing us around the town and the ski pistes. Accommodation was clean, spacious and provided stunning morning views. The location was perfect for a range of activities, such as skiing in the morning and cycling in the afternoon. The 5 minute car ride into the centre of town allowed us to spend several evenings enjoying authentic Austrian cuisine. The layout of the house allows for the meeting of other guests and sharing experiences - making friends through shared adventures. We'll be back! P.S Breakfast eggs were the best!

Amazing place, Stunning views, Great facilities and a brilliant host!
There isn't much more to say, from the moment we arrived James made the whole of our crew welcome and was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay. Traveling with a bunch of 12-17 year olds can be tough but at the Haus Kienreich there was plenty of space for everyone, good social areas and fields for miles! its located near enough to the town for shopping, swimming and more and yet is a stones throw from the mountains. Thanks Hinsby family, we'll be back next year.

Stayed over Christmas and hands-down the most memorable holiday experience we have ever had. The hosts were so on it and the accommodation met our every need from self-catering, to things to do, ski areas to visit, apre ski bars and the breakfast was so super yummy! We have already booked for our next trip and I am counting down the sleeps until we are back at Haus Kienreich :)

I cannot suggest to stay here enough!

Situated about a kilometre out of Altermarkt and a 5 minute ski/board to the closest lifts and bus stop it is a great location with fantastic views. The facilties nearby are amazing as well from the countless restaurants and bars and even a water park there is something for everyone on down days.

With regards to the facilities on site, everything was kept super clean and organised, we had access to a computer and several TVs with Amazon Fire Sticks for entertainment and some gym equipment (which albeit was hardly used). Laundry facilities and a boot drying rack were on hand for keeping warm, clean and dry. There is also an honesty bar which is kept well stocked with a good selection.

Our host, James, was fantastic! He made sure everyone's needs were catered for, was up early everyday to set out breakfast provided great local insight (for both the slopes and the local town) and ran regular shop runs for anyone who needed them.

I visited as part of a group of 14 and James took it in his stride.

Rustic but nice and friendly. Nearby there is a restaurant that serves amazing food but they can't speak in English

James' place was lovely, clean and homely! He was so friendly and helpful, always asking if there was anything we needed and giving us all the information we needed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to be right on the doorstep of the alps. Near a village which has everything you need and connected to Salzburg by train, but without a car it is more difficult to get around (but still manageable!)

Stayed for a snowboard trip in Jan 2020.
Absolutely ace guy and amazing family who run this place. No problems too big or small for them to sort out. Rooms had enough beds and facilities were all up to scratch, and was always really warm.
