Food is nasty and the reason for a write up is stupid I wish II ve never went

I honestly wish I didn't have to give this place any stars. The chores within the dorms are outlandish. You have to protect all of your personal items or else they eventually will get stolen. The phone policies in some areas are just plain out ridiculous. The staff in general are highly unprofessional and incompetent. Even when you're doing the right thing they'll get mad. You can't even hang your own towel in the shower room. This is basically a group home but just enlarged within the campus and extremely glorified. -

I will start by saying that I am grateful that there are programs such as this, that give young adults a second chance. They give students a roof over there heads, free meals (though not always the best tasting) and a free education. Providing you a chance to obtain your drivers license, HSD/GED and a trade..

With that being said, this has to be one of the worst campuses Job Corps has. I say that confidently too, knowing others who attended different campuses. When I told them how things were run in Hartford, they were shocked. Said it sounded like a jail, and I agree. The staff (not all but most) are SUPER unprofessional. They love to enforce their rules, but do not demonstrate any proper code of conduct themselves! There was this one lady, kind of like a principal (don't remember her official tital) Mrs. Brock who was HORRIBLE. And her wife Mrs. Pope, let her run around acting like a bully. Boulder built A** ..

A lot of the staff demand respect SO BAD but don't care enough to give it back. Countless times I've seen/heard things that shocked my friends who attended other JC's. AND THEIR CAMPUSES WEREN'T EVEN AS STRICT AS OURS.

There were people who were expecting a CHILD together and couldn't even hug, let alone kiss, their partner. Yet there would be creepy staff flirting with students...

I understand there are teenagers there, as well as young adults, but that doesn't mean you have to treat them all like kids. They treated that place like a jail, getting written up for something as simple as leaving a towel in your own dorm room. Or wanting to wear leggings/shorts on a hot damn day. I swear a lot of people who work there are WEIRDOS who get a kick out of torturing the students.

ON THE OTHER HAND, staff like Mr. Lopez, Mr. Perez, Ms. Carrie (May she RIP) & Mrs. Pugh helped make that hell hole a little bit tolerable.. What's crazy is I don't even think they work there anymore. I wonder why...

5 star WOULDN'T recommend going here I can go into so much depth on this place but I would have to write a 10 page essay on a review bar. For brief glimpse when you go on tour they leave out 90% of the information of when you actually get there and be a student its horrible. Then once you leave they take months to contact you, you have to bug them. Being a student here omg HORRIBLE just read the other reviews I swear they arent lying

Horrible place! The staff are incompetent and don t communicate!

I wouldn t recommend anyone to go to this school. First I want to start off by saying is that the staff here are so rude to the students, the instructors are lazy and rush through everything, even if you don t understand what your doing they just move on. when I was having a difficult time learning in my trade my instructor would get rude and nasty with me, like she didn t have the patience. Also the students steal from the dorms so I wouldn t recommend living on campus either, and bringing your personal belongings. They promised me after my trade to find me an externship for my job. Then after I finished my trade they told me I had to look for one on my own and never was able to find one because I needed the help.

WORST place to be! They treat you like inmates here, it's basically a halfway house. The staff is extremely unprofessional. They're rude, talk to you however they want and get away with it. When there's a problem they don't deal with it until it's too late. If they want you out, they will find a way to get rid of you. The food is nasty and you're forced to clean up after people.

I got my license, certifications, and some collage done there. You have to have the right temperament though to be there.
