This is Julia Swanson writing this review. My husband, Curt, and I love to come visit and see the collections here, amazing and so much fun. However when we visited on the 20th of March 2016 in the afternoon, the women's restroom was disgusting!!! There was poop smeared on the floor of the first stall and urine on the seat, the second stall no toilet paper and empty rolls and pieces of toilet paper littered the floor. The third stall had urine all over the seat, the counters were dirty, obviously no one had bothered to clean in there in some time. Such a let down when the rest of museum is kept so wonderfully. This bathroom was not usable. I told the gentleman at the front counter and he went right away to take care of it. It shouldn't take me telling someone to have this restroom cleaned. We visit almost yearly, every time we fly to Reno. Normally this place gets all five stars from us. Hopefully next visit will be better.

Fantastic museum! There's a few classic cars, but this museum specializes in rare prototypes, unusual one-of-a-kinds, and cars either featured in films or owned by celebrities. I learned a lot and got to drool over John Wayne's Corvette and a gold-plated DeLorean. The prices are fair too, and you definitely get more than your money's worth. Every car has a great write-up on its significance, and you can also check out headphones to get a wonderful self-guided audio tour. Next time I go, I'd love to get the docent-led tour as well. Can't wait to go again - it looks like they have several rotating exhibits.

Good surprise. Many cars exhibited in excellent condition from 1898 until the 50s in a nice decor. More recent mythical cars like a golden DeLorean, Formula 1 ... Unique models, and even a Peugeot (1913) and a Renault (1904). There are even some clothes, jewels ... period exposed. All this for $ 12 entry. Count 2h for the visit.

Amazing selection of Pre-1950's era cars. 4 separate very large collections of different time periods. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, even taking time to stop and explain some of the more eccentric options offered back on the day. At 14 dollars per person it's well worth an afternoon.

Friendly and accommodating staff! There is a gift shop located inside near the entrance of the museum. Not too busy as well, maybe because I had gone early in the morning on a Monday! Very large collection of cars that date back from the late 1800s to now. You can dress up in old-fashioned clothing and take a photo with a car, awesome! The bathrooms are kept very clean. In addition to the antique collection of cars, there are also other old stuff on display like purses, clothing, and other fashion-related outfits that date back to the late 1800s!

Super great museum a lot of cars from 1900-1950. Sad to read after the death of mister Harrah (the collector) over 1000 cars has been sold. They still have 250 left. Great for half a day visit.

In the "largest small city in the world" a car museum with a part of the rich collection of Mr. Harrah, to which other cars have been added, for a total of over 230 ... from the 1900s to the 1930s, up to the 1950s and beyond.
Some object of desire of famous owners such as Elvis Presley, Sinatra and J.F.Kennedy.
This has been awarded as one of the 5 "greatest" auto museums in America and being in the area well worth the visit.
Visited in August 2011.

Awesome car musuem. According to their advertising, it's amongst the top 5 car collections in the world. I'm not what people would call a car enthusiast but nonetheless I was blown away by some of the vehicles they had. I saw at least 4 cars that claimed it was the only one in the world. Decently priced to get in. I believe it was $12 for adults, $6 for youth or seniors.

A lovely collection of cars from various eras with some other items--tools and clothing--from each period as well. A sure win with auto buffs, but those interested in history will also find a lot to explore in terms of changing mentality about transportation.

Well designed displays and fantastic cars! Everything on display had a placard, but the tour was also awesome. Volunteers are very kind and knowledgeable and the while building is great to explore! I didn't expect to stay as long as I did but there is a lot to see.

Watch the short movie and go on a guided tour if you can. The museum was awesome. Great collection of car, all meticulously restored. My favorite was the Tucker. Very cool to see one in person.

This is such a cool museum. There's so much to see and experience. I was there for 2 hours and didn't feel like I got to do everything. It's definitely worth the price, and the fact that they let you come as you go the same day makes it even better. I definitely recommend it to anyone who has any interest in automobiles.

I recommend this museum next to the Truckee River in downtown Reno also know as The Harrah Collection because of the generous donation of automobiles on display by American businessman William F. Harrah. There are a variety of 200+ vehicles here in this wide collection that will dazzle you dating from the late 19 century throughout the 20th century. Included are John Wayne s corvette, a DeLorean, period clothing and accessories all set in various vignettes. However, If you re looking for more recent or current cars, such as Tesla, you won t find any dating after the 1960s. Reasonably priced, and the museum is veteran friendly. There are Men and Women restrooms. You can go at your own pace. Free uncovered parking lot, and a gift shop is onsite.
